Servers do not have to be over friendly for me to feel satisfied with their service. However, the server here was so awful I questioned if my breath was bad, if my clothes smelled bad, or if I had a sign on my back that said I kill puppies. The longest time she spent with us was about 10 seconds tops. It took a while to order after we were sat, so long that by time she arrived we were ready to place our drink, appetizer, and food order. When we asked for a box or a refill she just seemed annoyed by our requests. This would be a little more understandable if the place was busy but it wasn't. The food was just okay, good fuel after drinking a little bit on a Friday night. If getting pizza I recommend the thick crust! Likely not coming back unless my food is to-go. Ordered carryout over the phone. The manager taking my order was so nice! I ordered a large thick crust veggie pizza with extra sauce and extra done. When I arrived to pick up our pizza, the manager said that he just put it back in the oven since I ordered it extra done. That was super nice and unexpected. When I got home our pizza was still hot and tasted great! Definitely going to order from here again. They do have plenty of seating and a nice bar inside and a small patio outside if you eat there. read more

It had plenty of cheese and was only a couple of bucks more than a medium. Hey, leftover pizza for the next day or so. It was ready when promised and with courteous service. The pizza was very good and I must say a couple of notches above Pizza Hut. Just a note of caution:weekend nights can be very busy and parking can be iffy especially when there is something going on at the Iroquois Amphitheater. Just recently opened in Colonial Gardens where Union 15 once occupied this space. Going inside although the interior was clean, you could tell where they gutted the place and you can also tell it's basically just a shell of the former Union 15. The inside doesn't seem to have its own identity apart from Union 15. I sat at the bar beings it was just myself and he was very friendly, helpful and attentive. Even asked what kind of beers I liked so he could give me suggestions on what they had on tap. I have been to other Hometown locations so I pretty much knew what to expect. For food I got a thin crust pepperoni and an order of cheese breadsticks. I'm a fan of hometowns thin crust pizza so that's my go to most of the time. It had the perfect crunch and amount of cheese and pepperoni. The cheese sticks were baked to perfection. I give staff 5 stars, reason for 3 stars is interior, as mentioned before it's just a shell of Union 15 for now. And it is in Colonial Gardens and depending on the time of the day parking and traffic may be an issue. I will be back sometime or another. The staff and food were awesome. read more

I was trepidatious to try Craft House Pizza after reviewing their menu online which suggested a concerted lack of vegan options, but my friends were meeting there, and I love my friends, so I took the leap of faith. Fellow plant-based eaters - don't make my mistake. There are NO vegan options. All salads are prepared with some sort of animal product - meats, cheeses, even the potato sticks that top the House Salad. The pizza sauce is made with ricotta, and although the menu suggests notifying the staff of any dairy allergies, there is no substitute available. All appetizers are made with butter, cheese, or meat. No vegan (or even vegetarian) sandwich options are available, and even the garlic bread which accompanies the pasta dishes is spread with butter. I ended up ordering the house salad without: potato sticks, cheese, bacon, or egg and paid $7, which is the menu price (no reduction for omitting the most expensive ingredients). I considered the Mediterranean salad, which comes with more veggies, including bell peppers, olives, artichokes, red onion, and banana peppers. As this salad includes a side of garlic bread (not vegan as detailed above) I asked whether I could substitute fries (which the server said were vegan), however I was told there would be an upcharge, and as the salad already is priced at $12 this didn't seem like a good option. Interestingly, the garlic bread is $4 while a side of fries is $2, so again, they would actually be saving money by substituting. Overall I felt not only unseen, but penalized for choosing a plant-based lifestyle. We opted to eat outside because inside was pretty loud. Initially we were told this wasn't possible as our party contained 6 people and they only have 4 tops outside. Luckily another staff member was able to think outside the box and push 2 tables together. This may have been a mistake, however, as the live music was VERY live and VERY loud. We could barely hear each other and it was incredibly difficult to have a conversation due to the speakers being turned up to full volume. I typically love supporting local businesses, but Craft House Pizza gave me several reasons to visit someone other than them next time. read more

My husband & I met some friends out for lunch at the Craft House Pizza located at 816 W Kenwood Drive at the Colonial Gardens venue that was renovated some years ago & turned into separate facilities for dining. We had never been to any of the Craft House Pizza franchise. Our friends ordered individual pizza's with a salad, we chose the medium cheese sticks appetizer ($11) which we all split, & we got a medium thin pizza with double pepperoni & pork sausage. The pizza & cheese sticks came out hot & fresh, while the salad looked good: cold and crunchy with croutons, tomatoes, egg, potato sticks & bacon bits. They asked for several of the items on the side. They ordered water to drink, my hubby ordered a small beer & I got a half/half tea. My tea was a little too sweet, but I finished it off nevertheless. We chose to eat outside on their patio (it was a gorgeous late summer afternoon). The young lady that was the server for our table was quick to take our orders, bring the food & refill the waters/tea & offer my husband a second beer, which he declined. The medium cheese sticks were more than enough for a table of 4 to share. Our pizza was also delicious, and the two of us had a slice or two of the nicely cooked thin pepperoni/sausage. Their individual pizza's also came out looking good & they also had some leftovers to take home for a snack. We were able to sit & get caught up of what's new, & never felt rushed by any of the staff. I would definitely recommend Craft House Pizza, & we will definitely pay them another visit. There was plenty of parking close to the restaurant, this location is on the corner of Kenwood Drive & New City Road. I have had 3 hot brown pizzas. The first was good and loved that it wasn't your typical pizza. The second was fabulous.! It was better than the first. It seemed to have more flavor. The one we had last night was very salty and we did not finish it. It had sparsely sprinkled tomatoes on it. There was no sliced tomato halves on it; it looked nothing like the picture online. We were very disappointed. A medium hot brown pizza was $20 so it is not a budget pizza place. What we received looked like a frozen $6 pizza from Kroger. We were expecting another fabulous pizza but each time we have gotten this pizza, it has been different. The quality varies greatly! They need to fix this issue; the other pizzas they make probably have the same issue so be aware! read more

Had a girls dinner at house. There were 7 of us, and we arrived at 5 pm and were seated immediately. However, by the time we finished eating , there was a wait for a table. Our waitress was pretty good. We had individual orders consisting of salads and pizza, and one of us had a sandwich. Everyone enjoyed their food. I ordered a chicken bianca medium pizza. Toppings included chicken, bacon, onions, spinach, and an Alfredo sauce. It was light and delicious, served hot with a thin crust. It was enough for 3 meals. There is outside seating, but we ate inside. Once the crowd picked up, it was very loud in the restaurant. We moved outside after dinner to continue our visit. There is on-site parking, which can be packed, but additional parking is available across the street at the bank or the iroquois park amphitheater parking lot. One issue was our food did not come out at the same time. I got my pizza, but no plates first, a couple of salads came out next, then a couple other pizzas, then another salad and finally after 6 of us had our orders the 7th person got her sandwich. A great meatball is made by combining beef, pork and veal along with eggs, parmigiana cheese, chopped parsley, minced garlic and shredded stale bread which is soaked in milk and then squeezed before adding to the mixture. What I was served in my meatball sandwich was an insult to the term meatball. It was mostly breadcrumb filler and was void of any spice or flavor. Then to add insult to injury the so called Marinara sauce was absolutely the worst I've ever tasted. When I first tried to order my son a kids meal he said "I'm waiting for everyone to arrive" I proceeded to explain that my son (4years old) was hungry and we just wanted to go ahead and order his food. After some back and forth we were finally able to get his food in. We then tried to order our pizza and when I ordered he then looked at me and said "this is what we're going to do" proceeding to tell me how my husband and I should order our pizza. I corrected him and asked nicely to have him put it in how we would like our pizza ordered. Don decided to put our pizza in exactly how I told him NOT to put it in and we got our pizza incorrectly served to us, along with getting charged extra for the way he wrung it in. Not a pleasant experience. Ultimately, when a customer orders their food - it's typically how they would like it. It's not up for debate for the server to assume when or how it should be put in. Food was overcooked when we went a couple of weeks ago, Had a nice waitress tell us they were having oven problems. Went to order today and asked if they could uncook the cheese bread a bit (that's what the waitress recommended us asking for the next time we came). Guy on phone was extremely rude and dismissive, kept saying that's how ovens work. I sent my husband to pick up the order, and it turns out the guy on the phone was the manager. He apparently gave my husband the same attitude. This guy doesn't need to work customer service and especially doesn't need to be a manager anywhere! I run my own business and if I talked to people the way he spoke to us, I wouldn't have one! All he had to say was okay. He could have talked shit about me after the phone. However asking food to not be burnt shouldn't be such a hassle. read more

Craft house is one our favorite pizzas. We usually do take out. The staff is always friendly. We have done dine in a few times and they do always seem under staffed so they wait is a little longer. That seems to be the trend in every restaurant. read more

My wife and I went Sunday afternoon. They were about 1/2 capacity. We waited at the hostess/ host stand and watched workers go by about 5 or 6 times without any aknowlegdement. Finally a waitress said she would get us. A couple of minutes later she came out eating something. She seated us and asked if we wanted a drink. My wife aske if she could see the beer menu and she said "yeah, I guess". She brought it and never came back. She was wiping off other tables and waiting on other customers. After a few more minutes we asked another waitress if she was ours. She said no but would get our drinks. She went to the bar and the first waitress said something to her and came to us and told her this was her table. She went and got us water, we didn't ask for, sat it down and walked off again. By this time she had walked pasted us 6-7 times and never once asked our food order or even said " I'll be right with you". We were plainly an inconvenience to her. We decided to pay for the beer, we never got, and go elsewhere. My wife went to the bar and she said something to her and my wife said she had an attitude. She got real nasty and repeated it to the bartender. He aggreed she had an attitude in a condescending way. I told him that was unnecessary and we were the customers. She was still running her mouth as we left. We went elsewhere, had a great meal with no attitude, and left a $20.00 tip to the excellent we had. We will never be back and will make sure all of our family and friends will hear about this. read more
