I have to start by saying this has to be one of most honest and reasonable auto repair shops I've ever dealt with. I own an auto repair shop in Orlando, recently we repaired a Jeep Grand Cherokee, the customer drove it home to Wilmington and after a few weeks the car was having some problems, so they took it to Derham's auto repair, Derham's diagnosed and made the repairs that were needed, they were very thorough and did a great job at a very reasonable price. Brought my truck into this place last week for an alignment and a wheel balance. These people are a joke. Was told I needed $2200 worth of work and they couldn't align my truck and charge me $95 for a wheel balance. I made an appt for 2:00pm for an oil change and state inspection. Sat there with my 3 kids for 40min before the car was even brought into the garage. Was there for a total of an hour an 20 min for these two things. The service was fine, but pricey. The owner was friendly enough, barely, but being pregnancy with 3 kids in tow, I can't commend them for their long wait time. It was pretty significantly disappointing for me. I won't be returning for this reason. Ps: was told I needed the "expensive" air filter.... never have I heard this before or after from other places. Just shady. I got my car's yearly inspection done here, and they really surprised me with their great service. I only moved here a few years ago, and I hadn't heard of them until I was desperate to find an inspection location. When I called, he said they could do it in 15 minutes! I had a really good experience here! First of all, they were able to get me in relatively short notice after being turned down by several other places in Wilmington. They were recommended for their honesty and fair prices- both of which were very true for my personal experience! Their price was literally half that of the dealership (literally half). Then, when it turned out I had a faulty part- they were 100% accommodating and refunded me the full price of the part AND labor. This is a standup shop and I would recommend to anyone in the area. I made an appointment to get my BMW's brakes looked at after I heard them squeak. Hours later I was expecting a call asking for hundreds of dollars for new brakes....Instead Joel explained that my brakes were in good shape and would last at least 6 more months.
