I came here back in December for Botox injections to relieve headache symptoms from bruxism. I have suffered from this condition for years and am non compliant when it comes to using my mouth guard at night. I had been avoiding the trial of Botox to relieve the symptoms from my moderate bruxism for years. But I wish I had changed my mind about it sooner! The Botox relieved the soreness in my jaws immediately, I wasn't clenching as often and the weeks following it the jaw and toothaches were completely gone and the headaches are no longer happening. It's a huge relief! I could not have gone to a better place to receive the tmj/bruxism Botox injections. A nurse practitioner had administered my injections late in the evening as I had come over right after work (I am a nurse as well) and I can tell you, that she was very pleasant and knowledgeable. She did a great job. The atmosphere and overall representation of the clinic is very nice, clean and comfortable. Will return soon should I need to for the same or other services. **all locations beware** I have been going to dermfx for a while & not just this location. I started going to receive the smoothbeam laser treatment for mild acne scars/active acne. Smoothbeam laser treatment as mentioned on their website is "a quick and comfortable laser treatments are highly effective in targeting overactive sebaceous glands, reducing active acne, and reversing some of the collagen loss due to natural aging" & its "safe and effective." You have to go about 4-6 times to notice results. my 1-3rd time i noticed a slight (not a lot) difference. my 4th time i found out that a "trainee" did my treatment without my consent. I found this out as i called to ask who did my treatment and the name written down was different than the girl who did it. my 5th time, on Thursday 1/10. Friday morning i woke up with BLISTERS! A total of 4-5 of them on my face. BLISTERS! This has never happened. I literally washed my face as i woke up and blisters were popping! That day i called the office around 4pm they asked if i can come in but i couldn't as i was at work and in LA & I was headed to palm springs for a wedding as mentioned to the lady on the phone. i told her what was going on and asked what can i do? I told her ill email her photos. Once i got home before my trip, i emailed her photos around 5pm. her email kept bouncing back as her "inbox was too full" so i called again. She said she was leaving for the day and gave me another ladies email contact even though this was an urgent matter she obviously didn't care to help. The new lady i was now emailing didn't respond. i sent another follow up at 6pm she said she will forward it to the morning nurse. the next day around 930am, i still didn't hear from anyone. I now emailed the mail "inquiry" email. during the wedding on saturday, i received a call from the redondo beach office "checking up on how my treatment went" I called back after the ceramony and the lady at the front desk said that Heather was with someone..... Sunday night, I still didn't hear from anyone. I emailed all emails i now had on file form dermfx and adding the owner ERINs email with pictures of my blisters from the last 3 days. STILL NO ANSWER. I now still have blisters on my face that are very painful. I couldn't sleep as my face burns and can only lay on my back. In 2018, I was asked to "blog" for dermfx as an influencer. I decided not agree to it and kept all my treatments private and paid for them myself. i've paid of $1k in lasers alone. However, as an influencer I had to share and I will continue to share this story to warn others. read more

Loved Chelsea. She was patient, had a great personality and answered all my questions. She was thorough and a perfectionist, which was so appreciated! The young lady at the front desk was a different story. I was told to come in a little early to numb, which I did. She had a snotty attitude because I didn't come earlier, but then proceeded to take 10 minutes of pictures, further reducing my numbing time..making the procedure more uncomfortable. When I was done, I presented two gift certificates, which were a couple/few years old (no expiration) and she acted like I was stealing something from the company. She questioned the validity of the certificates and how they were obtained, which was embarrassing to me and honestly Derm FX. I understand the need to ask questions if the certificates needed to be found in the system, but this young lady did it with a very poor attitude. I've been coming here for about a year. Good luck with Botox injections on my forehead. I'm very conservative about putting anything in my face. Less is more in my belief system. Don't like the over plumped fake look. I called for a special they were offering for Restylane. Because I didn't need the whole syringe.. they wouldn't offer me the 1/2 syringe which is the right amount for me. Peddling products in quantity special seems short sided. If you are forced to purchase twice as much as you need .. you will look like a mental plastic surgery poster child!! Very unfair business practice. It's great for Botox. But the other things sold one size fits all aren't really in the clients best interest. read more

I had the worst chemical peel a few weeks ago. It was a quick 10 minute application with a simple cotton swab. I was told I would not peel and I didn't. But I did not see a single result from the treatment. It was a total waste of $150. I was looking forward to new treatments but do not want to take the chance of wasting money. Love these ladies. First had gone all the way to Seal beach to see Erin who I absolutely love (AMAZING) but the convenience of this location got me to try this spot. Went in for a consult for Ulthera and met with Sonya for a little refresh to get rid of the lines around my lips. Sonya was very attentive and gave me an even better result than anticipated. Just looked refreshed, not "done". Two weeks ago I returned for Ulthera on my face and neck by Caitlyn. I'm glad I took their advice to pre-medicate as the treatment was easily tolerable and no downtime at all. Results appear in 2 months so I'll go back for my "after" pics. Went back today for Fraxel laser on my face neck and chest with Caitlyn, and as anticipated she is a consummate professional. I would have pre-medicated for this one if I had realized the post-treatment "heat" would take so long to wear off, but otherwise everything went great and I am VERY happy. I've been here 4-5 times now for Dysport (another form of Botox basically) so obviously I've been happy with my result. In my previous experience, the front desk gal had always been a little bit crass. Never directly to me, but I was always a bit surprised at her tone and shortness with other clients. The esthetician's were always nice enough. But this last time!! The front desk gal-didn't catch her name, cute British (?) accent, was so great! So sweet and patient. And my esthetician (Jenny? Ugh I suck at names) was the cutest also. Previously, the esthetician just came in asked about medical stuff, told me not to sweat after, and did their work. Flash forward several months later and I am indeed hairless! Thanks to the Living Social introduction to DermFx, it's the best $99 I've spent. Of course, I've now been introduced to all kinds of other fabulous services they offer. Thanks to their killer deals on their monthly specials, I've been able to take advantage of them. But back to the laser hair removal. What I've come to gather in my research is that this procedure really appears to be based on the patient and all the variables of their hair growth. I don't think it's necessarily fair for people to write reviews saying the service doesn't work. Maybe it just doesn't work for them. Sometimes it just takes some time - it's taken me several months, but well worth it. I'm not expert here, I'm just sayin'. I will say that I think the technicians here are very knowledgeable and they provide a good service. They really want to take good care of their clientele and it shows. I've seen Andrea consistently and she's just been great. I'm happy that it was effective for me and only wish everyone the same success. I recently got a VI Peel on their December special. This peel is upwards of $400 elsewhere and this was a true bargain at $149! It was also a pretty simple, but effective peel. There was little to no downtime, my face really only 'molted' for about 2 days, but was very, very dry and slightly uncomfortable, but nothing unbearable. The nurse performing the procedure was very professional and thorough in explaining everything. I week later and I'm glowing with super teeny tiny pores! Pretty awesome! This is not something I can afford to spend $400, so I was thrilled with the affordable opportunity to give it a go. So much so that I bought two!! The staff here is always very sweet, they are prompt, accomodating and on their game. They're also open 7 days a week, so it's super convenient!! It helps, being in Redondo, they are a ways from me on the westside, but I've been willing to schlep it on down there because they're just that good! read more

Updating my review with pictures with proof of the detrimental effects this clinic put on my face. Look at the before photo before going to Dermfx for the VZet treatment. (In ten before photo I am also at a lower body weight than the after). My cheeks are full in the before. The after photo shows the tissue that was taken from my lower cheek (where the VZet was placed) one year and a half later. DermFX did not explain that permanent tissue damage would take place on lower cheek, nor the consequences of doing such a thing (which include premature sagging, fat loss which is important for your face, holds your face up, not to mention psychologically scarring to look in the mirror and notice tissue is permanently gone and it's changed the structure of your face. It was quite literally burned off with that device). Whether or not this clinic had the knowledge of such effects and what could have happened is unclear. If they did and they proceeded anyway, shame on them. If they didn't, they shouldn't be touching anyone's face with a laser whatsoever. Either way--RUN, not walk, but RUN from this clinic and save yourself from the possibility of ruining your face. read more

Don't even waste your time by coming here. I purchased volbella for under my eyes to tone down the fine lines and it cost me $650.00 knowing it was a little pricey I still went for the more expensive plumper filler to achieve my goal. When I came back 2 weeks later for my check up I saw no results and was really unhappy when the nurse told me how great I look BUT that I should buy another syringe to have the lines disappear! WHAT?!?! I was told all I needed was one syringe and my lines would be gone! Instead I had bumps of filler under my eyes that looked liked bags! I didn't notice a difference in my lines at all and they even refused to show me by before picture they took! The nurse claims she viewed them herself with the secretary and could tell a difference but when I ask to see she kept changing the subject! It made me feel like she couldn't even tell a difference and was trying to hide the fact by lying to my face. Stupid me I bought another syringe and was told that was all I needed and it would completely correct my problem. No difference at all in my fine lines just heavier bumps that look like I now have bags under my eyes. Go to a real professional or a doctor ladies! Not to someone that is just trying to sell you crap only to screw up your face. Mind you the nurse kept telling me how she'd never trust any of the nurses there to mess with her face and that she did her fillers on her own own herself. I got my first treatment done two weeks ago. They were fast and effective. I got an appointment with Andrea whom Maria O. suggested. She was fast and knowledgeable. When she started the treatment on me, I was a baby and complained how when I had Laser a decade ago, it didn't hurt this bad. That's when she mentioned where I am having the laser done is a very sensitive area that is actual pretty painful to get laser done on. Thank God for the COOLING AIR machine which blows out fast cool air so the heat and pain at each area being laser is less intense. So I might considered the numbing cream at my next session. They charge $5 each application and you have to arrive early before your treatment to get that apply on. Words cannot expressed how amazing laser hair removal has been for my legs which I had done about 10 years ago. Until now, there's only a few strands of hair that grows back and all I got to do is pluck it off. (Sorry for the vision of that.. haha) It beats from having to shave every week and having stubbly hair growth and skin allergic reaction! This time I had a few skin allergic setback. Not bad, nothing hydrocortizone cream and aloe vera can't take care of. :-) After first treatment, the hair growth has lessen by more then 80%! Wowsa!! read more

I have entered the phase of life called self preservation and so I came here for my first "Botox" experience and last minute decision for very minimal filler on my upper lip :x. Chelsey was fantastic! She helped me decide what and how much to use based on it being my first time and she was so patient and knowledgeable! Especially when it came to the upper lip, we did "ittybitty" amounts to a time so I can see exactly what it looked like because I wanted it so subtle my mom didn't notice, just me. Lol and it worked! Did twice at this place and both times results hold for a month while when I did in other places it was 4-5 months. Pleased to say that everything is going grrrreat! Unbelievable but within my first session I saw 80% results! My go to RN is Andrea, she is just so amazing and friendly, puts you at ease where you don't even think about that little annoying pain caused by laser hair removal. I must say I am one of the lucky girls who did not need the numbing cream, nor the cooling air to do the laser =D and I am glad because I do hear that is often that the cooling air machine is broken. If you do however need the numbing cream, my suggestion is- buy the little tube they sell for $30 and apply it before you leave your home, to ensure the area is numbed or they suggest you arrive 30 minutes early if you need to numb for $5. Considering those B-12 shots I hear they work incredibly well and with quick results too. It would be awesome if they advertised more discounts for all other services they offer as they can be a bit pricey. read more

I just had Ultherapy done! For the last 6 months I have been contemplating doing this because of the cost but after heavy duty research I felt it was right for me. I no longer wanted to get fillers as I started to notice a decrease in my jowls area and under my chin as well. Fillers were not doing much for that area anymore. Okay, let me start off my saying that it does hurt! I have a high tolerance for pain and I feel I did well. I took two ibuprofen 30min prior and they offered me some gas type thingy, which did help a bit. I took MANY deep breaths! I only did part of my face and soon i will return to do the forehead area. I CAN NOT WAIT! It's been three days and I already see a difference. I'm so very excited! I've received many compliments already, people are asking me if I had a facial or what I've done different. I still feel a bit tender today but it's tolerable. The left side jowl area really bothered me so much for the last year. As far as i can see it's smoothed out! I can really tell a difference and it's only been three days. Also, another area that has been bugging me( was thinking of doing kybella), is under my chin. I started to notice (in it's infancy stages) a double chin. They told me I was going to see the results in three to six months but i already see a difference! I'm glad I did it, as far as I can tell this therapy really works! Lastly, Lily, at front desk is very helpful (and I called several times to ask many questions). She was always very patient with me, also, the nurse who did my therapy was great too! I brought socks and glad I did as the room was cold but they turned up the heat to make it more comfy. This review has been long overdue! I have seen all the girls here for botox or dysport (whichever is on special). Every product works great on me and has lasted the standard 3-4 months on me. (Dysport has lasted the longest for me, personally) Some clients have complained about the products not lasting long enough or "not working." A helpful tip from my friend who's also an aesthetic PA: If you're on a budget and getting low amounts of units in certain areas, you will be wasting your money!! The product may not work at all or will wear off quickly! You should also be up-keeping with the treatments as soon as it starts to wear off. Do your research on the product Botox and other similar products. It will tell you the suggested "units" or dosing for certain areas. I used to see my plastic surgeon in Newport Beach or my dermatologist and their prices were a little expensive. Sometimes the product didn't last long or the placement of the product wasn't correct & I would end up with a droopy brow. Some other places will charge per area as oppose to charging by the "unit," I try and avoid those places I used to make my last minute appointments on Friday at the Sunset location & every time I happen to be booked with Sonia! She's very knowledgeable about the placement of Botox/dysport and was so great at explaining to me the difference between Botox & dysport. When I moved to Los Angeles, I tried a couple of medspa in Beverly Hills and Santa Monica. I wasn't satisfied with my results and their prices (I got high arched brow 3 times!) I saw that Dermfx had a location in Redondo Beach. I decided to make my usual last minute appointment at this location and much to my surprise I got booked with Sonia again! No heavy brows and no "Spock" brows! I got to talking to the girl at the front about getting my lips and smile lines filled (I think her name was also Sonia?) she told me they offer every dermal filler that's on the market and throughly explained to me the difference between each filler and which would be great for the lips. She was great at explaining to me why a full syringe would be best as oppose to half syringe for the lips. I decided I wanted to go all the way and do a full syringe. She convinced me to do the lip filler and smile lines. That next week I booked it with Sonia. Sonia does the best lips!!! She has a great attention to detail and listened to what I wanted. She knows how to keep the shape of my lip without looking overdone. I was BEYOND happy with my lips!!! I'm so glad I did a full syringe!! Half syringe wouldn't be noticeable! I also did a full syringe in my smile lines Overall: They have the best prices even if it's not on special! I have been to other medspa inquiring about fillers & Botox. Last medspa I went to charged $14/unit for Botox, $620 for Restylane, and $700 for Juvederm! Dermfx still has the best prices!! and they accept the rewards program that are offered by the aesthetic companies which means more savings!!! All the nurses are very skilled & knowledgeable! I cannot stress how important it is to not only feel comfortable with the person who is injecting your face with needles, but to know that they also have our best interest at heart and will do anything to make sure your experience is as pleasant as possible. Lauren did that for me and more! I came to see Lauren for a full consult and decided to have my under eyes and lips done. Her patience during my prolonged numbing process was unmatched. She got me ice, let me take breaks, and never once seemed bothered or annoyed that I was causing our appointment to run longer than usual.
