I went to Derick to get it checked. To start with, PA's come out not a doctor, I was checked out and then had a biopsy of the spot, it is now the size of a half-dollar, and it is oozing and quite painful, I was called in cream. I had left instructions to please call me if something was wrong. Today, on my birthday no less, I got a message saying to download the results. Unreal they are bad and the doctor couldn't call me? I called back and got their miserable frustrating answering service, again no human. Absolutely horrible human care!!!! Its like the Emerald City with no wizard !

I did not wish to have a "suspicious mole" removed on the same day as my very first appointment. I simply knew from past medical experiences that there are some inappropriate billing practices going on today. I was rudely told that it was not ok for me to wait to remove a part of it for a biopsy that day and was rudely asked if I wanted to sign paperwork stating my refusal when I would have absolutely no problem doing so. I simply wanted my skin checked and scanned for possible skin cancer concerns, ask about any procedures and basically connect with the doctor in order to feel confident they were the right fit for me. I already felt I was not going to continue seeing this provider and a few days later my gut instinct was confirmed. An innocent coworker and I were discussing my situation that made me feel uncomfortable and to my surprise she told me she knew a female who worked at Derrick Dermatology! She then began to tell me a "funny story" the Derrick Dermatology friend had told her. It happened to be my story! The employee was making a joke out of my refusal to have the mole removed for a biopsy. Not interested in this type of practice that employees "gossip girls." I happen to be recently married and I want to protect my husband's privacy as much as mine and also our future family's privacy. I will not be going here and if you choose to do so, I hope that there are better employees there now that respect privacy!

Derick Dermatology - This is the best it's gotten with Derrick Dermatology, still noticeable, but if we skipped a dose, we were in real trouble.

When looking for dermatologists within my network and area, Beaird Dermatology came up as a…read morerecommended option. Their office is located in a multi story building in Hoffman Estates by the I-90 expressway. Their office seems newer with concrete floors/white walls being minimal and modern. It was easy to get an appt and I didn't have to wait too long as a first time patient. My first visit was a general visit to check for concerning blemishes and discuss some long-standing skin concerns. I was prescribed three different creams for three different areas as well as recommended an over the counter shampoo. I tried products as recommended and didn't see results. I recently reached out (3 months later) to follow up that items weren't working and was told I'd have to come back in because I didn't follow up. It was news to me as I was never told to follow up on my terms; I expect my doctor to reach out to me. Either way, I scheduled another appt which was another copay. I was recommended two new creams as well as a pill prescription. It's been a week and no pharmacy has reached out to me saying I have a prescription to fill and the pill left me with side effects within days so I stopped taking. I followed up with the office, they asked if I could come back in which would be ANOTHER copay. I sadly am deciding to cut my loses with working with their practice. I refuse to pay another copay three business days after visiting because they didn't ask the right questions when I was last in. I felt the PA I had was kind but other staff was not and only talked in medical terms which left me confused and hard to follow conversation/questions. My PA seemed like he did care but I am left feeling like they want my money more than finding a solution to help me.

While Dr. Beaird is a good physician, it takes 9+ months to get in for a skin check with her, she…read moreand her staff will not allow you to have more than one skin condition addressed per appointment and you cannot get through her AI system to an actual human for scheduling purposes. I recently switched to a different dermatology practice not because of Dr. Beaird herself but because of how her office and practice is run. Her administrative staff do not return messages, they do not follow up with necessary insurance preapprovals, they cancel appointments regularly and then make you reschedule through text messaging or AI, they are unfriendly and they fail to process basic medical records requests. I've never encountered a medical practice that was so poorly managed.

First review in 7 years…read more Dr. Shah prescribed an antibiotic for me. 2 days later, after a hard workout, I began to experience severe swelling in my left calf. I've read that antibiotics can cause tendon flare-ups (specifically in this area), so I called Dr. Shah's office and gave my symptoms and history. I was given no feedback from the office at all other than, "If you want any information, you have to make an appointment. We can see you next week." Clearly nobody with any medical training ever received my message. If they had, the obvious response would have been, "You need to go to the ER right now." With no guidance from my doctor's office, I was left to my own internet-guided intuition on this thing. It really felt exactly like a pulled muscle, and I went on assuming I was having a reaction to the antibiotic. Days later I discovered that I had a bad case of DVT (blood clot) in my leg, a part of which had broken off and moved to my lungs. Is it Dr. Shah's fault that I didn't go to the ER earlier? No. Would I expect this kind of symptom to receive attention from my doctor's office when I tell them about it over the phone? Of course. I was released from the hospital and called Dr. Shaw's office to ask for an email so I might alert someone beyond the doltish receptionist that their policy of "Dr. Shah talks to nobody, receives messages from no one", might be in some cases flawed. I explained the above story and the response was literally, "If you are having problems with your prescription, you can call the nurse. Her hours are..." It was bizarre. Like talking to a robot devoid or deprived of the ability to think for itself. Like so many folks have said: Do yourself a favor. Select a different dermatologist.

Then the first question the Dr. Asked my daughter was, "What is your ethnic back ground?". My daughter never sat down or took off one article of clothing. I am livid. My daughter now has to wait until next year to have a covered exam by her insurance. Dr. Shah obviously does not do her job. I have been to the dermatologist many times. I take off my clothes and lay under a light blanket. She stands over me with a light on her head and above me, asking a dozen questions as she goes. She touches anything that looks suspicious. America is sick and tired of Doctors NOT doing their job and billing the Insurance Company.
