Have been here several times for cuts, colors, and now just got my first keratin treatment. I went here on a groupon a couple years ago, and hands down got the best hair cut I have ever received in my life and now can't go anywhere else, and when I have i regret it! I am not one to get my hair done often but when I do I make the drive and it's always well worth my time and money. I have been going to Natalia Bolanos for my color and cut for over 10 years. She does a great job and is really creative... a real artist. I love that she takes the time to listen to what you want and encourages you to bring photos and really explain what it is that will make you leave the salon completely satisfied with your salon experience. Just had my hair highlighted and cut by Rachelle. The color is awesome and the cut is just what I wanted. She was very careful every snip was thought out! My hair is not easy to cut because it is so thick and I am a perfectionist when it comes to my color. It looks natural. Her chair side manner was great. She talked when wanted to talk and was quiet when I wanted to be quiet...during that wonderful blow dry. I hate to recommend her for fear she will be busy when I want to get back in! read more

I have been to other salons and this is by far my favorite. Christie does my color and cut and I get compliments all the time about both. Color, Cut & Extension's Desa Salon Does It All....... I have been following/ going to Tapia (a.k.a Chris Tapia, owner) for over 10 years and always happy with the outcome of my hair every time. I have been going to Tapia for so many years I have too many great things to write about so I will try to make this short and to the point, Tapia is a hair genius! For any of you yelpers looking for a great salon look no more he does great color, cuts, shampoo's ( ARE THE BEST), and extension's. A little over two years ago I decided to cut my hair short, above the shoulder short and after a few month's I missed my long hair so I decided to get extension's. My hair is now grown out but I still keep my extensions in to maintain the fullness in my hair. I am constantly receiving compliments on my hair color and how great my hair looks and when I tell my people I have extension's most people don't believe me, that's how real and natural the extensions look. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my extensions. Jeff Kearns has been cutting my hair for almost 5 years now and let me just say he is absolutely one of the best hair stylists I have ever encountered. He started off by just cutting my hair, but he now is a stylist for my mom, dad, sister, almost all of my friends, and a hand full of people from my work. i had heard many great things about salon desa and was excited to find they were offering a coupon on a local "deal" website for a brazilian blowout for $99. so i purchased one and made an appt. for the following week. they did get me in the night before a major holiday so that is the only reason i am giving them one star, plus one for the super friendly receptionist, at all. anyways, the brazilian blowout as they called it, was no such thing. i have had several before and asked specific questions to my stylist about what they were going to do. i was assured that this was an official brazilian blowout but all salons "do it a little differently". well this one flat ironed my hair while it was wet, which can't be good, and i had to keep the solution in myhair for three days (so no washing your hair over a holiday weekend-yuck!). i found out later that they did a version of a keratin treatment. i contacted the brazilian blowout company, located here in so. cal, and they told me that lots of salons use their name but aren't actually providing their service. basically they LIED to me! both over the phone and in person. my hair looked and smelled HORRIBLE and i would NEVER recommend getting a brazilain blowout from these peolple- because they seem to be confused on what that is! not worth 99 cents let alone $99 (plus a 50 dollar tip)! read more

My friends call me the 'Salon Slut' because I cant stay true to a hairdresser or even a salon for that matter. But I've been reformed! After a year of religiously seeing Rachelle at Desa I'm hooked. I came in with box dyed and severely damaged blue black hair. I wanted to be blonde instantly.. you know when you just make up your mind that you NEED to change hair colors!??? She looked me over and calmly decided that we would gradually get there but in a healthy way. Thats when I knew she was good. Rachelle has effectively changed my hair texture from damaged, dry and brittle to soft, longer and shiny.. I couldnt be happier! I thought it was just her but my boyfriend was complaing about his hair. He said he has never been to a salon and doesn't have time for it. He didn/t want to but I sent him to see Jeff. He came home with a giant smile on his face and LOVED his hair. He has since been back for 4 appointments with Jeff.. The final straw for him was when he had an appointment 2 weeks before he was in his best friends wedding.. he went to make another appointment with Jeff closer to the date and Jeff said No and that he would cut it so that in 2 weeks it would look spectacular and it truly did!!!! Our entire family gets our hair done from Natalie and it's always a great experience. She's really open to change and provides honest and professional input if she thinks something will or won't work. I love that she doesn't push any of her services or products either -- no sales job here which I really respect. Over the past month I've lost alot of hair, not fun. She agreed and suggested that I get a few extensions. I really wanted nothing to do with extensions...I don't want to get sucked into wearing them, loving them and not being able to live without them (from what I hear). Anyways, I listened and knew this hair loss thing was going to get worse before it gets better. I agreed to the extensions.
