I wanted to try on several different styles in a range of sizes, and they provided everything I needed. I found my perfect fit! While Birks are a bit of an investment, they're well worth it. My first pair went strong for over 10 years and might have gone even longer if I hadn't gotten them wet. On top of the great service, they also offer a Yelp check-in discount and have a rewards program, which added value. I visited Desert Birkenstock to purchase a Christmas gift after seeing an Instagram post advertising that customers who spend $150 or more receive a $30 promotion (Dec 18-24). When I asked about the promotion, I was told by the owner that there was no sale. I proceeded to pay full price. After completing the purchase, I asked again what items were on sale and was told that nothing was on sale, aside from a clearance rack. When I specifically asked about the $30 promotion shown on Instagram, I was then told that I needed to sign up for a rewards program and provide personal information (phone number and email) to receive it. None of these requirements were disclosed in the Instagram post. I was also told that customers must mention the promotion or it would not be applied, which again is not stated anywhere in the advertisement. Only after questioning it further and providing my information was the $30 refunded to my card. While the refund was eventually processed, the interaction felt uncomfortable and unwelcoming. The lack of transparency around the promotion and the way it was communicated left a bad impression, especially given that this information should be clearly and consistently explained upfront. Clear advertising and respectful customer service are important. Unfortunately, this experience fell short. read more

Never did I ever think I would become a fan of Birkenstock sandals. Fast forward several years later and I am now a huge fan. I currently own six pairs of these wonderful sandals. I have purchased two of the six sandals right here. I wear these sandals all year long and one pair has sheepskin so I use them as slippers. They are the most comfortable and supportive sandal I have found. I know they don't always look super fashionable, but who cares when your feet are happy. They are a little spendy but you can often find great deals here and remember these sandals can last you a lifetime so in my opinion well worth the investment. There used to be two locations, but now only this one exists. It is not too far from where I live and I come here at least two to three times a year shopping for yet another pair. Staff has always been helpful and friendly. Every season I receive a mini catalog with a postcard enclosed for a deal they will be hosting. I love taking advantage of their spring cleaning special. This includes you bringing in your Birkenstocks and dropping them off. They will treat them with cork sealer, clean the leather and give your sandals a thorough review for any issues that may need to be addressed. Price varies from year to year but I like to have one of my pairs worked on every year. They can also repair your Birkenstocks. In addition to Birkenstock sandals, they carry other brands of sandals and shoes like Vionic, Taos, Olukai (another great sandal), Keen, Dansko, and Alegria. For people that need arch support and insoles, pick up what you need here. This store is really a one stop/do it all shop and that will make me return over and over again. read more

But I needed to update my review to let the people know that this store is still a five star establishment. The staff is always very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about the products they sell. They also carry Olu'Kai foot wear I saw them online and was going to order them. But when I visited the store I found that they carry Olu'Kai foot wear. Customer service? Not the greatest. We entered the store and the salesperson was with another customer. We browse until the she's free. My husband wanted to try on 2 pairs. She comes back with two pairs but one is considerably smaller then comments that his feet don't look large and walks away to assist other customers. We waited but she never came back to check on us. She was the only salesperson there but a quick check to see how we were doing would've been nice. She thanks us as we exit the store. Too bad we couldn't reciprocate. A locally owned store located in N Rainbow. I came because I saw a local influencer that I follow come here. A few times actually, however, she recently came and I loved a pair of shoes she posted. I had my Husband bring me. We drove 40 minutes to check this place out. Cute little shopped that was busy upon arrival. Ignored for 15 minutes before someone said they'd be right with us. Finally? Maybe after 25-30 minutes I got assistance. There were two pairs I wanted. They didn't have the size nor the color. Since it's a locally owned store, they have very limited style and colors. What's on the floor is what you get. Ok, I get that. They offered me saying they can order the color I want online. Since we live far, I asked about ship to home. They said sure it'll just be $5 for shipping. Ok, no problem. I asked about return policy and they said 30 days. Ok, cool. When I finally decided on the color to purchase online, they changed the return policy and said all sales are final. Um, why did that change? My Son wanted some Birks and again limited sizes. It was very frustrating that every shoe we wanted, we're out of sizes. I get it's locally owned, that's why we drive far to come shop but having limited sizes will also limit their sales. They said they would mess in our feet to endure the sizes but they never did. They were too busy and only two people working. This caused for rushed and bad customer service. Will we be back? Maybe? If we do, hopefully it'll be a better experience. More sizes, more staff and better customer service. read more

I have been shopping here for years. I wear Birks pretty much anytime I'm not forced to wear other shoes (work, gym etc). I love them and I have been wearing them my whole life. My grandmother used to shop here for her Birks and now I do. We have always had great service and no complaints. My daughter loves to play in the little kids area while I figure out my purchase. Although the customer service was really good the first time I came in I'm so deeply disappointed with this store when I came back for solutions. I bought a very expensive pair of Birkenstock sandals for like $120 and not even two weeks later the soles started coming unglued and were pulling apart. I brought them back to the store hoping that they would exchange them for a new pair since I only had these for 10 days. Clearly they're defective and she kept trying to tell me that it was because of the heat in the sun etc. I have had Birkenstock sandals for years now I've bought several pairs from the store over the years I have worn them for well over a year without any issues. I usually wear them until they wear out but I've never had the soles come apart like this . I feel these were a manufacturers defect and I think they should've exchanged them for me this would've been a satisfactory solution but instead they offered to glue them for me or re sole them for $60. $60? Out of my pocket seriously you think they would offer to do this for free as a courtesy given the situation but now I walked out of there with the same broken sandals that I bought 10 days ago with no solutions whatsoever. So disappointed in the store and their ability to please their customers once they have taken your money. I really thought better of them. Any place else would have done an exchange but these people? No if you buy defective materials from them you're on your own or you got a pay to get them fixed. How is that a solution? read more

The staff at the store is wonderful. HOWEVER, I will NEVER buy a pair of Birkenstock shoes again. To "adjust " the fit of the shoes, they used a HAMMER! After 3 attempts, still wrong fit. And, the leather strap was torn. Wore them 2 times for 15 minutes each time. $180 for a pair of shoes that I have to throw away. I was referred to the Birkenstock main company because I purchased my shoes from them rather than the local store and the main office said "sorry ". No refund. Too many wonderful brands out there that offer great arch support. AND better prices! read more

I recently found out about this local Birkenstock store and had a chance to stop by today. I was greeted the moment I walked in. The store was having a sale so it was pretty busy. Regardless of how busy it was, both employees were so helpful and kind. I did buy a pair of beautiful Birkenstocks that I had never seen before. I usually order my Birks online but end up returning many due to wrong fit or style. It does make a difference being able to try them on in person. Fantastic Customer Service! Amy and her team are top notch. They take great care of the customer, and help their customers find the right product. Very consultative. It was a refreshing experience, and a great example why I prefer to buy from local business owners. Since I grew up, most retailers moved away from providing a personalized experience to help the customers buy exactly what they need. Desert Birkenstock will take good care of you. I received a pair of shoes for Christmas, but in wrong size. I went to exchange, and Amy was there to help. She even remembered who bought the shoes. :) She asked several questions about foot bed, size needed, purpose, etc. Turned out, with a bit more information, she had a better recommendation. The suggested model was from a different manufacturer, and would be the better option than the pair I received as a gift. I took her advice, and she was right. The shoes I am wearing are awesome. Extremely comfortable, with great arch support. Amy really knows the features and characteristics of the products sold, so can provide that personalized service. I purchased my Birkenstocks under false pretenses. I was told on my initial purchase I could get my shoes repaired INCLUDING THE CORK PART for $40.00 as long as the leather was in good shape. I later take my son to look around and again confirm my shoes are fixable as the footbed started to crack after a very short time. Making them uncomfortable to wear. Well, well, well, I bring my shoes in for repair and that's when I find out in fact nothing that they promised was true about the repair and that I should just buy a new pair because the cost to repair is $99.00 for the very thin 1/8 inch sole that is lined to the bottom of the cork. Apparently the the 1/8 inch sole liner can be repaired for $40.00. Needless to say, I did not get my shoes repaired, nor did I buy a new pair like they were trying to get me to do. I felt so deceived leaving this place and will never shop here again. Just be honest, no need to over promise for a sale. read more

I am a planters fasciitis sufferer..came in today while I was in terrible pain for 2 weeks and decided to stop in BEFORE my Podiatry appt so my pain was bad and try alot of shoes on to see if any shoes stopped my pain immediately. I specifically wanted Birkenstock but the clerk was awesome and brought me about 4 or 5 different brands and Birkenstock. I had a great comparison because of this and decided on the Boston Birkenstock and just love them! I was able to feel relief instantly and get to the door and up the elevator for my appointment walking normal without pain. I've walked past this store for quite awhile and finally stopped in when my old pair of Birkenstocks decided to wear a hole in themselves. Amy helped me find a nice pair of oiled leather Birkenstocks in the proper size. They were comfortable from the moment I slipped them on. Amy also explained that I could have my old Birkenstocks resoled and have the straps reconditioned. I'm seriously thinking about it because I loved my pair of purple suede Birkenstocks. I might change over to the classic sole instead. It is quite a bit more comfortable than the soft foot bed. I like this store and the one to one customer service. My husband bought me a pair of Birkenstock sandals online and when I received them I wasn't sure if they were the right size ( I like my sandals to have room and these are my first pair of Birkenstock ) I didn't want to start breaking them in before I was sure that they were the right size for me. We decided to drive over to Desert Birkenstock to try on a size larger just to see if they fit better than the size he had ordered online. When we walked in we were greeted with warm welcoming smiles and immediately they went into action. They knew they shoes I brought in weren't from them but they still wanted me to have a great Birkenstock experience. Less then two minutes into my visit we knew he had ordered the wrong size. Honestly that's all I expected I just wanted them to tell me what size I should have gotten. BUT THEY WENT ABOVE AND BEYOND FOR US. They exchanged the shoes we had gotten online for a pair in store. They didn't even carry the style of sandal I had ordered! I wanted to hug the owner of the store for being so accommodating to us. We were first time customers who could have been one time customers for all she knew ( she even told us there was a store closer to us!) but she's sold us. As we left the store my husband looked at me and said " we have to come back for more because she didn't have to be that nice to us" He's right. Thanks to this lovely young woman, I have a pair on my feet that fits me like a glove and allows me to walk without my cane!! But that's not all. She also assisted us (hubby & I) in fitting and ordering a couple pairs as well. I totally underestimated these amazing shoes and their incredible powers!! Tiffany had my back though. She showed me how to properly fit a Birkenstock to my foot (which has quite a bit of science behind it). She couldn't have been nicer or more accommodating! She also told us that if for some reason my fit isn't being accommodated by the existing holes in my straps, I need only stop on by and these fine folks will happily add new holes to my straps. She literally told us to "please come in for ANY Birkenstock reason". They handle it all!! So, I should mention the store is IMMACULATE and (obviously) the staff is FANTASTIC!!
