After having a Crepe on a Saturday morning around 8:30 at the Dare Vita Cafe, my husband and I saw the LV Donut food truck over at Desert Bloom Park! We just had to go pick up some freshly made donuts at the food truck. This park is really nice! The first thing I noticed how clean and well kept the park is. There's a good mix of open grassy areas, walking paths, playgrounds, and sports areas, so it works well whether you're there to relax, walk around! There was a baseball game playing while my husband and I visited the park. There were people out walking dogs and running too! By the time we placed our order at the LV Donut food truck, there was another Hawaiian Poke food truck that had just showed up! This is a great community park where you can take a walk, sit for a while, or let kids play. I'll have to come back in the evenings when the weather cools down a bit during the summer nights! read more

Stopped by Desert Bloom Park today while I was out with my dog. I mainly wanted to let my dog run around on some grass and also needed somewhere to wash my hands real quick lol. The main bathrooms are currently being fixed, but I actually appreciated that they put a port-a-potty with a sink in the parking lot instead of just closing everything and leaving people with nothing. That was pretty thoughtful. The park itself is really nice. The grass is well kept, there's a good area for kids to play, and I noticed a lot of older people out walking and exercising which I loved seeing. It felt peaceful and well maintained. I don't live on this side of town, but I'd definitely stop by again if I'm in the area. read more

After months of scorching hot weather, Fall has arrived, and the weather has cooled down in Vegas. With months of cooler weather ahead, I intend to spend time in the parks that spread across the Las Vegas Metropolitan Area. I challenge myself to write at least fifteen park reviews by June 2025. Desert Bloom Park will lead off my 2024/2025 Las Vegas Metropolitan Area park adventure reviews.     I am writing this review based on six check-ins at Desert Bloom Park, a park that serves as both a local park and a destination park when combined with its sister park Duck Creek Park and the nearby I-215 East Beltway Trail.    On the majority of my visits here, I combined this 18.5 acre Clark County- managed park with Duck Creek Park or both Duck Creek Park with the I-215 East Beltway Trail. Situated at the northwest corner of Maryland Parkway and Wigwam Avenue and within the radar of the I-215/ Windmill interchange, Desert Bloom Park is relatively close to me. On all of my adventures here, I preceeded it with Grouchy John's Coffee Shop across the street to the southeast. This is where I have parked my car. Now with a new 7-Eleven across the street, I have made an additional water stop before crossing Maryland Parkway into the park.    Making my way into the park from the southeast corner, I have walked on the flat 0.6 mile walking trail counterclockwise. From my observations; with the exception of a restroom in need of a sink, and a reduced watering schedule that has resulted in dying grass spots and some sickly trees; Desert Bloom Park is well-maintained. Along with the park upkeep there is a relative sense of safety from the number of good people visiting. On the walking trail I have seen a variety of park goers engaging in walking, jogging, walking their fur babies, and parkgoers like me that are walking and taking pictures with occasional breaks at the shaded seating spots. The busiest area seems to be the playground and adjacent open grass space at the southern area of the park. With the nearby City of Henderson eliminating green grass and mature trees from several of their parks, I really appreciate the open grass and mature canopy of trees here that attract birds and a positive state of nice. It is nice to know that are able to place a towel on the grass and lie down on a beautiful day. The park is more elongated than wide which brings the walking trail in relatively close proximity to Maryland Parkway on the east periphery and sharing the residential Rockefeller Street sidewalk along most of  the west periphery. On my visits, the park amenities that includes two baseball fields, sand volleyball courts, picnic tables, barbecue grills, and a basketball court have been underutilized. As far as picnic tables, it is close to a reality that I might pick up nachos with cheese with a Big Gulp from the 7-Eleven across the street and have a picnic here on a beautiful Vegas day. Being into hiking and taking pictures, I consider it an amenity to be able to look across the park and take in the distant Spring Mountains. However, with development pending on the adjacent lot to the west of the basketball court, I am uncertain if development will ruin some of the mountain view.     As a hiker, a nice amenity is that the distance is 0.44 miles from the basketball court at the southwest corner of the park to the basketball hoop at the northwest corner of Duck Creek Park via Wigwam Avenue westbound then Pollock Drive southbound. This makes for a solid urban hiking experience. For a greater hiking experience, just across Maryland Parkway and one block east along Wigwam Avenue is the I-215 East Beltway Trail. The Yelp listing explains the destinations that it leads to. On my hikes with Desert Bloom Park, it has led me to the Eastern Beltway Center to the southeast and to the University of Nevada Botanical Gardens and trail terminus at Maryland and Warm Springs to the north. This supports how Desert Bloom Park plays a roll in a regional hiking adventure.    As I bring my review live, I would like to say that in the future, I have a feeling that a Desert Bloom adventure is in the cards. If not it will be in my peripheral vision when I drive by it on Maryland Parkway and stop by Grouchy John's. read more

Desert Bloom park was really clean on our visit... for the most part. It has a basketball court, a volleyball court, a baseball field with bleachers, water fountains near the men's/women's restroom, lots of tables and benches under gazebos, a walking path and a playground area with slides and a swingset. The playground area was functional but could stand to have some renovations done to it. Due to the fact that it was really dirty. If the park don't want to take the pricey route and replace the playground. I think the parks janitorial services should strongly consider hitting it with a water pressure machine. Yeah, that might do the job. read more

Wow - this place has gone completely to shizzzzzz. Be prepared for all kinds of nonsense. Yeah, you showed up to have a walk, get some sun. You had good intentions. Try to ignore the hordes of unsupervised pre-teens and other aggressive mammals. Human, canine. I dare you. People are more friendly and well-mannered on the stroll behind the Strat than this dive. read more

I initially didn't like this park because it's by busy Maryland Pkwy. However, since I always walk my dog leashed, there is no real danger. The regulars we've encountered have been very friendly, and we've even found a small group of dog owners who get together on Sundays for treats for their dogs. There are lots of dog lovers who enjoy going to this park, and coming here with my dog has become a social event to look forward to! read more

There is sooo much potential in this park being one of the PERFECT parks to do soo much whether it be relaxing, celebrating a party, playing basketball, or just be a kid BUT there is poopoo here poopoo there poopoo everywhere there wasn't cement smh. Come on people, there are doggie bags all over the park. There shouldn't be any excuses not to tend to your pets poopoo. This park has all the essentials plus more; playground, basketball courts with an "s", a lot of grass, bbq pits, restrooms etc. It's also very easy to get to right of the 215 on Maryland...JUST WATCH YOUR STEP :) read more

This is the park that is closest to my house, so I end up here a lot to walk my little dog. You will find it just on the west side of Maryland Parkway and just south of Windmill. I really love this park because it is kept in great condition, it is obviously taken care of, and has many great amenities to it. They have baseball fields, basketball courts, volleyball courts, BBQ grills, restrooms, and plenty of lush, thick grass! I can easily kill an hour just walking around here with my dog just enjoying the tranquility of the whole scene! I'm going to be moving soon and I can honestly say that I am going to miss this little park! 4 stars. read more

There was a very chubby dog there with his friend & 2 human companions. He made eye contact & smiled at me each time we met. This sort of friendliness goes a long way & really made my day. He most likely will not be there when you visit as I saw him getting in his car when I left. Don't worry though, there were plenty of other pups. The others aren't quite as round, but still pretty good. All of the dogs I saw had humans tied to them so I would not recommend going here to adopt a pet. I visited this park to take a quick walk during my lunch break. The trail around the perimeter takes about 20 min to walk at a leisurely pace. It is a paved sidewalk with no incline. Very easy & relaxing path though quite hot at mid day in April. There are plenty of mature trees however the actual walking trail is mostly in the sun. The dogs seem to really enjoy it. read more

I've been here a lot over the years and Desert Bloom Park isn't that bad of a park. Baseball/softball field, 2 full basketball courts, playground, some pavilions with BBQ grill. There's also a lot of field space I often see people playing soccer and tossing the disk and football. I've also seen people flying kites and remotely controlled airplanes. It's lighted but don't know when they close and there isn't a lot of shade since the trees are still growing. There's also a sand volleyball court and restrooms. Lots of sidewalk for walking around and water drinking fountains. Great place to BBQ and hang out with friends and families. If your looking to play a bball game, like all parks during the hot summer come at night when the temp cools slightly down. It is HOT 100+ HOT still till 8 pm, come after you should he good. read more

I don't usually get up early in the morning on a Saturday/Sunday... but when I do, I go to this park. They have a nice path to walk around so it's perfect for hatching them pokemom eggs. There's like 10 or more pokestops around the park too, so if you're (still) into pokemon go, this place is perfect! Parking is not a problem. There's parking lot by Wigwam Ave and a bigger parking lot on Maryland Pkwy side. There's a baseball field, basketball courts, and a "beach" volleyball area. The park is in great condition. Daughter loves the playground. Glad we live close to this park. read more

Believe or not this is the first time I have ever been to this park in all my trips to Las Vegas. Located less than a mile from the house, it's a huge park that has many amenities. 2 basketball courts 2 sand volleyball courts Either 1 or 2 softball fields 2 playground areas (1 covered and the other uncovered) Multiple covered picnic areas with BBQ grill Paved running route Bathroom I believe it is a dog friendly park because I seen numerous dogs at the park during my workout. Desert Bloom Park - Easter Celebration with Grace City Church & Walk Church! - Parks Near Me - Las Vegas, Nevada

I used to like coming to this park. It was nice, clean, family friendly and very close to my house. However, in the last couple of months, it has really gone downhill. Early mornings, I sometimes see what I assume are homeless people drinking something that's obviously not Sprite or juice out of a paper bag or smoking. In the afternoons, there are always a bunch of hoodlums being unnecessarily loud, rambunctious, and using inappropriate language despite the presence of younger kids. And the thing I hate most, is that it always smells like freaking weed in the park. This area used to be a nice area to live in but clearly a different kind of crowd is starting to move in and it's starting to be very unsafe. read more

My friends and I decided to shoot some hoops and walk around the park. It is well-lit at night and pretty safe. There were people walking and playing with their dogs, kids on the playground, teenagers on their bike/skateboard, and some guys playing baseball and footvolley. They have a number of tables next to BBQ grills. Bring a mat/towel to lay on if you want to star gaze at night or have a picnic during the day. Make sure you watch out for a few things: dog poo and flying balls. It wasn't too crowded the night we went here. read more

I love this little park! A walk around the park or a rest on a blanket while watching my kid play, my kitten hang out, and dogs play fetch. There is a basketball court, sand volleyball, gazebos with picnic tables and grills, a baseball field and a nice open grassy field. This is such a great way to spend the afternoon. read more

Desert Bloom park is a nice little park. The baseball fields are probably the highlight of this park. I jog here sometimes in the morning and its usually quiet, and dog poop (land mine) free. The best is their watering cycle in the summer, running through the sprinklers is pretty awesome. I see people training their dogs here all the time. Im not sure if they are doing classes or what but the dogs are never an issue. The do a great job of cleaning up any mess thats made. They do have a nice volleyball court area next to the bbq area. I always see people having parties here. Overall this is a very family friendly park. read more

Every time I go to this park I am reminded of Leslie Knope from 'Parks and Recreation' I'd envision this to be Knope's ideal park; well maintained, clean, and no homeless people trying to camp out. The park is one of the few in town to feature a baseball field along with volleyball courts, basketball, and several great BBQ areas. The park though not huge has a nice neighborhood feel and is well taken care of. At night its well lit, safe, and never crowded. The BBQ pavilions are always very clean and make for a great spot to grill. Overall one of the better parks in town and located in a great area. read more

This review is over due. I discovered this beautiful park around two years ago on my walk. Very clean, spacious and kid/dog friendly. What is so amazing is the tree memorials dedicated to individuals that have died. This is so wonderful to discover and I enjoyed walking and reading the dedications and viewing the pictures. Pretty much what everyone is saying, a pleasant park with most of the necessities. You can find most of anything here: volleyball, soccer, baseball, and basketball. They also have grills and picnic areas. For days you just want to relax. Feel free to bring your dogs too! Very spacious! Just make sure you clean up their poo poo :) Only thing missing is a tennis court and its own dog park. That would make it 5 stars. read more

This park is one of my favorites to visit! It's well maintained and clean. I love to ride my bike here and have picnics here as well. It's a great place to walk your dog with lots of open grassy areas. Basketball courts, baseball field, volleyball court, swings, benches, etc. Kudos to Clark County Parks and Rec! This is a pretty nice park lots of space to run and play. Play structure is decent enough. There are restrooms available which is nice for the kids. Only complaint the sprinklers came on 3 separate times while we were there making it hard to play. Also people don't always clean up after their pets. read more

This is a cute place to visit for outdoor recreation. Parks are one of the few free forms of entertainment and this one surely delivers. It has restrooms for relatively good stalls. Often times, you'll see community softball games going on at night or volleyball in action. Additionally, there is great shady spots to go and read a book. read more

Alawys super clean and when anything is damaged or broken, it is fixed quickly. Although the park is a little bit on the small side compared to desert bloom or sunset, it has space for anyone to have fun. There are several baseball fields, beach volleyball courts, basketball courts, and there is a nice size playground with equipment for smaller and bigger kids. This is one of my family's favorite places to picnic at on weekends and holidays. There is also a ton of just open field where you can play with your dog. read more

Been to desert bloom for 15 years nothing has changed always safe for kids has a nice basketball court, baseball fields are a major part of the park. But overall when it rains here (rarely) the fields get flooded and you can't really do too many things. The bbq areas are clean but most of the water fountains don't work. But all together the volley ball courts are clean. The park is safe and the playground are awesome. read more
