I gave Desert Designer a call after striking out with a few other landscape contractors (no call/no shows, no creativity, and not working within my budget). Rob set up a time to meet and take a look at my yard and listen to my ideas. I was looking for something clean, modern, and a refreshing escape from the same old generic AZ landscape. I gave him my wish list, discussed my style preferences, and my budget. He took it from there and came back a few days later with two options - one of I could stretch the budget and one bang on budget. We then worked together through phone calls and emails to make a few tweaks here and there until the design was settled and within budget. Rob works up a line item estimate so you can see exactly where your money is going. This helps when you are making adjustments and choosing between your wants vs needs. Using this system, I worked with Rob to come up with a design that included my must haves and mix in a few extras while staying on budget. Once the plan was nailed down, initial deposit was paid, they got to work and completed my project in just 4 days. I've had several neighbors comment on the style, design, and positive change I made with my yard since it has been completed. I'm tremendously pleased with the finished yard, the fact that I came in a few dollars under budget, got everything I was hoping for, and had great communication with Rob/Desert Designer throughout the process. They are the real deal!

Our backyard was almost as the builders left it 30 years ago. We had no idea what to do with it and called Desert Designers. Sarah came over, sat and talked to get our minimal input and came back 2 weeks later with drawings, options and pricing. We told her to go for it! The pandemic caused a delay in starting the project but Pepe and his crew showed up, worked tirelessly, professionally, with amazing skill and expertise! The photos really don't do it justice! Friends have commented that our yard looks elegant and magical. We feel very fortunate that Sarah answered our call and gave us a yard we can enjoy. We made a few changes halfway through the project and Sarah and Pepe both worked to accommodate us without hesitation.

Our experience with Charlie and his team was awesome! Charlie had some great ideas for our patio space - his knowledge of dogs really helped us settle on the right concept for us and our puppy - and he responded quickly with a drawing and estimate. He was also very accommodating with our schedules for appointments we had. When it came time to do the work, he showed up with the team that morning and made sure we were okay with everything. His team worked quickly and cleaned up well. Charlie was in contact with us through the two days it took to do the work, making sure we were happy with everything. Our patio turned out even better than we had imagined! We love it!

Update: Had a small leak in the irrigation months later. Rob's team came out and fixed everything under warranty. Great company that you can trust from the beginning all the way through. And we're still loving our awesome backyard. Thanks Rob!

Rob was a pleasure to work. We are from out of town and had many appointments with different designers. Rob is the only one who kept the appointment and listened to our wants and needs. His price was a bit higher but the design and finish product does not disappoint. I would highly recommend them. They worked with our wants and needs and designed a space to grow to what will be a beautiful backyard for many years to come.

They did an extensive front area remodel --4100 square feet of pavers for a circular drive, re-designed the front hill by removing 20 tons of dirt and old plants, added a river bed, replaced all the granite, installed new lighting and watering system, added new plants, built stone accent walls and the list goes on. Once you give Sean a deposit and you agree on the work, he gives you a firm start and end date. Taking into account weather delays, the schedule is right on target. Our project encountered one entire week of rain but the crew worked through it (6 days a week, 7-5) and finished the project within only a few extra days from the original end date. The crew was timely, professional, pleasant and easy to deal with. If we ever had questions or needed to reach Sean, we received a return call, text or email within minutes. Having lived in Arizona for almost 50 years and dealing with many contractors, we can honestly say that Sean and Envirogreen Landscaping are the only contractors that we do not have one complaint to express. They were awesome! As a side note, Sean and Envirogreen did a major project for our community about 5 years ago. Many of his workers are still with Envirogreen which says volumes! I interviewed several companies for our complete backyard remodel, and it was apparent from the beginning that Sean was the best. He came up with a creative design for our backyard that provided more privacy; an entertainment space with a bar, tv, fire pit; and an outdoor kitchen. He asks questions to understand what your needs are and how you envision yourself using your yard to come up with a 3-D rendering of your ideal space. Sean has an eye for design and thinks of the big picture and the small details. We had to wait several months for the crew to start, but in my mind that was a good sign that Envirogreen was well sought after. They were worth the wait! Envirogreen has their own crews, instead of a bunch of subcontractors. Their crew, led by Abraham, was punctual, reliable, and hardworking. They showed up 5-6 days a week and worked long days until our project was complete. This kind of work ethic and reliability is so rare these days. Sean communicated with us throughout the entire process and his insights allowed us to make some decisions to improve the original plan as needed (i.e.- installed one bigger propane tank to serve our smoker, grill, fire pit, and indoor stove instead of added another smaller one). Envirogreen does good quality work, and we are very happy with the results! When we are ready to have work done on our front yard, we will be calling Envirogreen again!

Colorworks Landscape Design, Inc. is one of the best out there, period!…read more My wife and I started 2025 wanting to do a complete backyard makeover. We began by ripping out existing plants, pavers, brown gravel, and artificial turf for both a putting green and a general use area. We started by building a pool (a cheap plug for Dolphin Pools who did an amazing job). After the pool was completed, the second half of the project was ready to begin. This is where Colorworks stepped up to the plate. I could not begin this without mentioning one of the owners, "Jon Hammel". Colorworks Landscape Design, Inc. received rave reviews on Google and Yelp, so we reached out and were promptly scheduled for a complimentary estimate. Upon Jon's arrival, I could sense his excitement and creativity as he envisioned transforming our dream backyard into the upgraded space we desired. Although we had a plan in place, Jon skillfully incorporated his unique ideas, resulting in a comprehensive rendering of the project. We were immediately convinced that Colorworks was the ideal choice for our project. What truly set Jon apart was his unwavering honesty and thoughtful approach to refining our existing plan, ensuring that it reached its full potential. I want to clearly state that there are many stages to such a massive project. There are always going to be delays, and we had a few. Additional parts needed to be ordered, and of course, the weather did not always agree (lots of rain). Since our backyard is not the largest, every inch of the project required attention, and Jon fully comprehended that. The project included 3 large retaining walls, 164 Sq ft. of pearlescent travertine, 18 Indian laurel ficus trees with 6 tons of topsoil, 450 sq ft. of Daytona 80 0z turf, 4 stoned columns on a pergola, a wood accent backdrop for pots, and white rocks. This also included taping into existing irrigation drip, electrical lines, and reusing leftover pavers in other areas. Jon (along with our ideas) was the brains of the project, but Cesar Aldama is the contractor who brought it all together. Cesar, along with Ginato, is an excellent team. They showed up on time and worked tirelessly each day, and consistently cleaned up before they left. They always treated our home with respect, and we couldn't help but notice. Cesar is an expert in construction projects and possesses extensive knowledge in the field. My wife, being meticulous and OCD, wanted perfection in the job. Cesar meticulously coordinated with us on every aspect of the project, providing valuable advice on what could and couldn't be done. He is truly an artist, and we couldn't thank him and Ginato enough. The straightforward truth is that Colorworks fulfilled their promise! I can't forget to mention other members of the team that did amazing work: Jeff (owner), Mark, Manny (Turf installer and his awesome crew). Colorworks Landscape Design, Inc. is an exceptional choice, and we wholeheartedly recommend it. It's one of the easiest 5-star reviews I've ever written. Gary and Terra!

Choosing the…read morebest landscaping company, comparing quality, timeliness of completion, and price can be a signifcant challenge as there are so many variables to handicap. We used JNK for a minor project two years ago, and Naji and the crew were superb: they showed up on time, worked diligently to finish the project in a professional manner, and brought a remarkable attention to detail to their work. Therefore, we chose them again for this much larger project, and I'm pleased to say they exceeded our expectations in every way. Naji arrived to discuss the project, and based on our conversations with him, was well-prepared to discuss options. He is a deeply knowledgeable person who is personable, professional, and truly customer-focused. The crew showed up right on time, and the point person on the job, Joaquin, explained the process of removing sod and dirt and installing the pavers--over 1,000 of them. They hand-measured and hand-cut the pavers that created the circular mesa around each tree--they look exquisite. It was a crew of seven, who were perfectly coordinated, worked well together, and hustled to get the job done in the promised timeframe--one day, which astonished my wife and me. Because the job required cutting a number of pavers there was quite a bit of brick dust. After completion, Joaquin used the hose to meticulously spray off all of our trees, shrubs, and all of the rock, to make it look pristine--that's going the extra mile! You can evaluate other companies, but if you want exceptional quality, attention to detail, honesty, and integrity, I recommend JNK without exception or qualification. Naji will take good care of you!

I am sure there are other great landscaping businesses out there, but the reviews were key for me - I had nothing else to go by, since we haven't used any landscaping services. Reviews were accurate. Service-communication: very good. My main contact was James. Took a lot of time with us. We were going from scratch, so it took a while for us to figure out what we wanted. Plus, had to get HOA approval for a pergola - never fun, but finally got through that. Second contact was Ali toward the end with the irrigation and plants. Easy to deal with. Once the contract was signed, they indicated 2-3 weeks to begin, and that was accurate. Supply delivery began about five days prior to commencing work. The initial crew wasted no time getting to work. They kept the premises clean. Everyone professional. Quality: All I can say, is so far so good! Nice paver work, Pergola looks great. Electrical all appears properly done. Turf looks great. We are very happy with the results. Everyone cleaned up after themselves. Delays: none of any consequence. Toward the end, had to wait for the pergola parts to arrive. About three weeks to complete entire job.

They way they manage the entire project from the first to last step, is a constant reminder on why they are worth it. They run this ship like a well oiled machine! Every appointment was so professional, always on time, and always informative. From the very first appointment with Joe, he was so kind and personable and informative. He really treats the whole appointment like an educational session, and I understand why now. I was thankful for all the information, and how non-salesy he is, no pressure and just really comfortable and detailed as well. He provided very professional, detailed drawings and photos of what it would look like. When we met the project manager, Chris, he was just as friendly and personable and informative. He kept us updated at every step, and was on top of every detail. He always texted us updates, and very communicative. The crew they sent out - AMAZING. Not only did they get the job done in half the time, but their attention to detail was above and beyond! They were very friendly, and top notch on their work ethic. On the final clean up day, I was expecting maybe an hour of tidying up, but what I got was one extremely dedicated guy that spent 5 hours METICULOUSLY double checking every inch of my entire yard, even the areas that they did not work on. He cleaned every inch of our yard, the street, the driveway and even part of our neighbors! He held a level AGAIN at every section of the pavers and double checked it, and then he cleaned and cleaned and cleaned. Every time I thought he was almost done, he'd come back with a new tool for more cleaning. Truly, I've never seen a crew work so hard and diligently and be so scrupulous with their attention to detail. You also get a portal to track the entire project, and to access all the warranty and contract docs that no one wants to file anyway. I would highly highly recommend System Pavers for any project, and we will absolutely use them again. Thank you!

We chose System Pavers because they were the premium option. They were also the highest bid we…read morereceived (around $38,000), but we believed we were paying for quality, expertise, and project management. Their sales presentation was impressive, and we were told they would coordinate everything for our pool patio remodel. Unfortunately, our experience looked nothing like the polished videos we were shown. The project stretched from February 5 until May 14 and required constant homeowner involvement. Instead of having a project manager ensuring the work met quality standards, I felt like I became the project's quality-control inspector, inspecting every stage of construction, discovering mistakes, documenting issues, and asking for them to be corrected. I expected to hire a contractor. Instead, I spent three months acting as the quality-control inspector for my own project. During the project we dealt with broken pool pipes, damage to our pool aerator, fill tank, and underground plumbing, uncapped sprinkler lines beneath the patio, missing weed barriers, uneven pool coping, improper edging, damaged landscaping, and extensive construction debris left throughout our property and neighboring yards. In addition, several pieces of our personal property were damaged or destroyed, including a broken pool net, broken garden hoses, a seven-foot wooden shade post that workers used as a cutting surface, and a planter that was thrown away after crews moved retaining wall blocks to drive equipment through our yard. We also endured weeks of piles of pavers, dirt, rocks, and construction materials stacked in front of both our home and neighboring properties, along with plastic bottles, McDonald's bags, and other food waste left behind by crews. One thing that became obvious was the lack of communication between departments. The salesperson promised certain things that the installation crews clearly never knew about. For example, we specifically discussed reusing our landscape rock, but it was thrown away during demolition because that information never reached the crew. Customer service became increasingly frustrating. When we emailed management documenting workmanship concerns, we received little response regarding the actual problems but had no trouble receiving payment requests. During one phone call, the project manager told us, "We thought the ship had sailed on customer service." Hearing that after months of issues was incredibly disappointing. One issue that really damaged our trust involved the sprinkler system beneath the patio. When water started shooting through the middle of the new pavers, we were initially told the lines had definitely been capped and it must simply be leftover water. Once someone inspected the problem in person, the response became, "Oh, we must not have capped them." Because multiple pool components had already been damaged during demolition, I insisted on having the underground plumbing pressure tested before resurfacing the pool. That test found additional damage that required repair before the pool could be completed. Had we not pushed for that testing, the pool company told us hidden leaks could have remained beneath newly installed plaster. Near the end of the project, I refused to sign the Certificate of Completion until the remaining work was finished. I was initially told work would have to be delayed if I didn't sign first. After refusing, management then said they would finish the work regardless of my signature. That experience left me questioning why there was so much pressure to sign paperwork before the project was actually complete. To be fair, not everything was negative. The second project manager, Jose Corral, completely changed the direction of the project. He was knowledgeable, honest, respectful, and immediately recognized many of the quality issues that had been overlooked. He worked hard to make things right and deserves recognition because he was the one person who consistently treated us like valued customers. I understand that construction projects can have unexpected challenges. My frustration isn't that everything didn't go perfectly--it's that we paid premium pricing and repeatedly had to advocate for issues that should never have occurred in the first place. Looking back, I don't regret investing in our home--I regret having to spend three months acting as the quality-control inspector on a premium-priced project. Homeowners shouldn't have to monitor every phase of construction just to ensure the work is completed correctly. If you're considering System Pavers, keep detailed written records, photograph every phase of the project, inspect everything before it gets covered up, and don't sign completion paperwork until every punch-list item has been completed.
