I came here with a friend, to watch a Thursday night concert. My friend went to the Pink Floyd cover band, and she and I were there last week to see a Bruno Mars cover band. We parked on the top floor of the parking garage and for whatever reason, the elevator took a while to show up and take us down to the casino floor. We almost used the stairs. But we did get there, and it was kind of close to the starting time of the concert too, but it was easy to get into the venue area with our rewards card. They had food for sale, but we skipped it (it smelled wonderful) and headed to the concert area, which was just an open area next to the 5 story parking garage, bordered by the service roads accessing the parking garage and laid down with short astroturf. The performance stage seemed kind of small, and the seating area seemed just adequate (many of us who showed up not-early had to stand), but it got the job done. The folding chairs were quite padded, which was nice (we did get a seat maybe 2/3 of the way through the concert, when a group of people left). Even for Bruno Mars (777 was the name of their tribute group), the average age of the audience seemed to skew pretty high, with a sea of white hair. But we all had a good time, even if we didn't get out of our seats or dance until the very last song. The only difficulty was this particular night had a very chilly wind blowing constantly and I didn't have a jacket with me, so I was quite cold. We jetted out of there just after the last song, and we were able to traverse the casino and parking garage and exit quickly and easily. I had wanted to roam around the casino after the concert, but I was so cold and tired from the wind (it felt like a whole bucket of dust had been wind-blown into my eyes), that I just wanted to go home after. Too bad a casino of this size can't do an indoor event, but I was still glad I went. Next time if the weather is better, I'll spend more time in the gaming area. :) read more

AWFUL..... couple of issues. The "food court" was extremely disappointing. There were only four food options, and the line took over 30 minutes to get through. It wasnt even that long. We ended up getting the Chinese food, and it was honestly some of the worst food I've ever had. Another issue was cleanliness. The bathrooms always seemed to be cleaning, yet I never once saw anyone sanitizing the machines. If you're planning to visit, I'd definitely recommend bringing your own disinfectant wipes or sanitizer to clean. read more

Desert Diamond was an interesting place to play blackjack. Most dealers were pleasant, but if you win, they ban you. That's a fact. It happened to me. They said, "Sir, your game is too good for us. We will be banning you from blackjack." I said, so I can play anything else? "No, you are being banned from all our properties. Surveillance has identified you as a card counter." By the way, knowing how to play isn't illegal. I know basic the basic strategy card. The sky is falling! Anyone who plays blackjack and doesn't know basic strategy is donating their money. It's still a losing game with basic strategy. Surveillance must have been smoking something that day. I heard they got hit by a card counting team only months before. Happy that I got to visit AZ for the first time with my bf and his family for the holidays! Had an amazing time at this casino even if I only won a bit and then lost it all again lol! Honestly though, still enjoyed my favorite slot machines and got to spend time with the family. Wish this was closer to us but can't wait to visit again in the future! Parking structure is big and this casino overall is a nice size! Got really packed on the Friday night after Christmas but still had a ton of fun!! Didn't try the food but they had an interesting variety. It was neat to see an Auntie Anne's and a Ben & Jerry's for a food court at a casino! I was at Desert Diamond Casino yesterday. What a mess! This casino is going down hill fast. Three of the slot machines were not working well. It took anywhere from six to ten minutes for an attendant to show up, and on one of these mishaps I had to leave machine with the money ticket still in machine to find help. When attendant and I returned to area with me a random man was trying to get my ticket out, I just looked at him like what in the H@#%$ are you doing? He told me to relax but right there and then the attendant told him to step away. Some people are so messed up. Anyway, women's bathroom wasn't up to par. Two stalls had no TP. Fountain drink area on north and west side of casino was a disaster. No floor waitress to be seen, and I was there four hours! I used to think this was a place worth going to but now I have doubt. I've written several letters to management but never have I received response. With this said, go ahead and take a gamble and see for yourself. read more

My husband and I were celebrating our anniversary (early) and decided to check out this fairly new casino on the west side of Phoenix. This side of the valley didn't have any so this is a nice addition. Very close to other entertainment venues in Glendale. Parking garage leads directly into the casino floor. Very easy to navigate. The casino itself is very nice, fairly large with multiple restaurants, bars and a food court. Everything was clean and staff were all friendly. There are complimentary soda and coffee machines located throughout the floor. There are also lots of slots and card tables to choose from. We did not win any money, but we came to have fun together and we had a great time. I'd visit again in the future. read more

Review is for the free Thursday nights Legends concert series. You must have a Desert Diamond rewards card for a free ticket to gain entry to the outside venue. Rewards card is loaded with $20 in free play and a $10 credit at the gift store if you spend $10 in the casino. We couldn't use either because of our son not be allowed within. We stood in line only about five minutes at the rewards desk, the line went fairly quick. We showed our ID and we were issued a card along with our show ticket. All personnel we came in contact with were friendly and helpful. Our son is a huge Pink Floyd band and the concert was a PF cover band. I had called ahead of time to make sure the show wasn't a 21+ and was told no as long as he was with a guardian and didn't enter the casino. Desk clerk gave us another ticket so we wouldn't encounter any problems with entry. Great set up outside with lots of chairs and high tops. Food stations and beverages. Food smelled wonderful and I thought was priced affordable. A Wagyu burger for $13. Casino is beautiful inside with plenty of parking in a garage. The only problem we occurred was with a security guard. We parked on the 5th floor of the garage and was standing looking at the concert stage and he told us we couldn't watch it was a ticket only event. Dude, it's free. We could have stood on Northern Ave and watched from the road. I would totally come back to have date night. Dinner and another concert would be an inexpensive, affordable night out as long as we don't gamble. read more

Killed some time here today. Conveniently located right off Northern Ave. in Glendale/Peoria. Tons of ample parking with huge parking garages. This was my first time here & it's considerably larger than you can tell from Northern Ave. It's also very clean. Everyone kind of stuck to themselves, but there's plenty of employees walking around read to assist if need be. No issues here today at all. Not quite sure why there's so many 1 star reviews. Let me start, first, by saying that my husband and I do not gamble whatsoever, but we are always up for an odd adventure. So, when we were done getting goodies at a farmers market inside a tin shed, we saw there was a casino nearby and thought we'd grab lunch. They said they had a Morton's Steakhouse. What could go wrong? The only thing I was worried about was smoke, to which I am allergic. We'd run right out if it was nasty in there. We thought we'd enter in on the side entrance, figuring that would perhaps avoid the raspy, dry stink of all of our casino experiences. To our pleasant surprise, the first thing we saw, in the lobby, was a wall in tribute to First Nation veterans. Both military brats, we loved it and took the time to honor them. So, I didn't notice right away ... the absence of that raw dryness in my throat and assault to my sinuses. No smoke. No foul smell of death in the air. We turned the bend to the cleanest casino we'd ever seen, and we've both been to Vegas a few times. Including recently, when we went for a show. The casino where the show took place reeked glamour but was dark and depressing. You could sense the bankruptcies in the air. In this soulless environment we put in a little coin in a slot machine and got an $8 profit. It did not thrill us in the least. Too much sadness in the air. The Desert Diamond seemed to be mainly populated by younger retirees in between BINGO games. Gambling hobbyists? Bored widows? The men who'd been behind us in the parking lot were talking about their landscaping challenges. The Arizona sun soaked the floor so there was no gloom. We wandered around before filling our bellies and lost $5 in a slot machine purely because we didn't understand the rules and just kept hitting pretty buttons. We decided to use our naivety as a teachable moment and head to the food court, with our bank account intact. On the way we discovered that the drinks are free. As in soda, lemonade, tea ... not margaritas, y'all, which is fine with us because we don't drink alcohol. (Not because we're better than folks who drink, but because of family history. Just like we don't gamble not because we think we're superior, but because we don't want to fall down hard, fam.) A giant self-serve beverage center was against one wall, unattended. We asked an employee to be sure it was free because we don't steal, and she confirmed. We're also realizing that out here in AZ, there's less policing of soda fountains anyways. Because it's illegal to deprive people of ice water in the desert. We're always filling up our water bottles with it at gas stations and nobody is checking on us. Anyways, off to the food court. You know I can't pass up on a taco. So, I headed straight to Taqueria Ville. And they had my recent obsession, quesabirrias. They make them "to order" so, to avoid a burn, I had to sit there a while and wait while the scent made promises to me. Which these tacos fulfilled. The shredded birria meat was excellent. Moist and beefy, as if stewed for hours in the perfect broth. The melty cheese was just enough, the tortilla sufficiently dipped yet crispy. Somebody knows what they are doing back in that kitchen. Even the pico de gallo was giving fresh. Chef's kiss, y'all. I didn't have to ask for consumme, which would cause me to add a sixth star, if I could. Why do some taco joints make you ask and then have the nerve to charge? It's a travesty. This is, however, is mama's kitchen. That was enough casino for us for the day, but we'll probably be back, for the tacos and free drinks. Avoiding the slots. They're not for us. read more

First time at this location!! I'm used to the one in Tucson and Sahuarita! This one doesn't have Bingo, only the one in Tucson. We're not avid casino goers but it was nice!! Restrooms were nice with the self cleaning seat, parking garage was very fancy and similar to Vegas where it tells you if there's availability with a sensor red or green. I wanted to dance. Couldn't find the dance floor, nor did I ask. But they have tribute concerts during the week. So I assume the dance floor would be in that area. A good selection of restaurants and sweet treats. My wife and I wanted to check out the Desert Diamond Casino. It's a nice casino and fairly large. If you self-park in the lot, they provide a free shuttle to the casino. If you park in the garage, I am not sure, but you probably walk to the casino. As other reviewers had mentioned, only 1 live craps table. We went on a Monday around 10 p.m., and the minimum bet was $15. Complimentary Self-serve soda fountain drinks and coffee. read more

We were very impressed with the ample free parking, beautifully lighted casino, selection of slot machines, cleanliness of the casino space and general atmosphere. We like noisy and colorful casinos and Desert Diamond Casino was lively on a Saturday. Free, unlimited coffee and soft drink stations were placed all around the perimeter of the floor. They are self-serve, and they were a nice touch. There were plenty of casino staff around if we needed help or had questions. Everyone was very friendly. There is a small sports book area with a variety of screens showing different games. There are a few food options, a bar and grill, a steak house and a small food court offering pretzels, ice cream, American, Asian or Mexican food. There was plenty of seating in the food court. There is a gift shop with some nice items, from inexpensive to pricey, as expected at a casino. It was busy at the slots but we were able to play our favorite machines. Beautiful casino, it's big, high ceilings, Las Vegas vibes, super clean, bathrooms are clean as well. This place has it all, also has a nice big poker room, lot's of room in between tables, very spacious. Nice promotions, friendly dealers, had a great time taking all their money at $3-$6 limit hold'em with full kill. They didn't even know what hit them, I was playing almost every hand, good hands, bad hands, hitting everything under the sun. I have played at some pretty tight casino's but DD both of them have the worst RTP. 1000 buck thru a 5 dollar machine and the only hit i was 20 bucks. I know thats the game but wow, in and out in less than 30 min. I also noticed the payouts for line hits aren't very good either. This was a good break from our usual day at the casinos on the east side of the valley. Desert Diamond Casino is located near State Farm Stadium in Glendale. The casino has a very convenient parking deck attached to it for easy access. The casino floor had a wide array of slots and a beautiful bar situated in the center called the Rock Bar. I was pleasantly surprised at the difference in drink prices when compared to other casinos such as Talking Stick in Scottsdale. Overall it was a lot of fun to spend a few hours there. read more

Visited this casino for the first time today. There's ample parking, the casino itself is very pretty with a large selection of slot machines. I'm not much of a gambler but I played a couple of the slot machines and lost... quickly. After that the excitement of gambling was gone we decided to grab a bite to eat. 2/7/26 Today something terrible happened in this sometimes unkind world. My wallet and cell phone were stolen. It happened very quickly and by the time I had quickly gone back to investigate, the person (s) who took it were long gone. Luckily I was able to report and inquire about camera viewing activity and the attending security personnel were so very helpful. Shouting out to Billy, Patrick, and ALL those who were involved in helping to resolve my challenge. Desert Diamond is a wonderful place to meet up with friends, try some luck and enjoy some delicious eats, but the people like Billy and Patrick and the other gentlemen who were there were Superbly Awesome! Billy saw me, detected distress and immediately asked if I were ok. I explained my situation to which he listened with great focus and then began doing his job. One thing that Billy did was to ask me to take him to the site of the theft occurrence. As I spoke to him at the site, I became even more displaced with emotion, thinking about fraud and all the things that can mess up LIFE. Billy detected that as well and stepped out of the UNIFORMITY of his primary duty and showed a side of himself that I believe is a missing element in todays society. HUMAN KINDNESS to the degree that I had not expected. He took me through breathing excercises, asked me about family, I spoke about my family, my grandchildren....I smiled, I spoke evenly, I was breathing normally, not flinching around and tensing and shaking anymore. Patrick ensured I had water while waiting for law enforcement. He listened to me vent out the frustrations about how unkind people can be and educated me on some technology They both patiently rode out my emotions with me and showed Kindness. I have been coming for a while for events and play, but today..today those employees who were involved in this matter went above board to ensure that I was calm, all info was collected, any immediate need I had pertaining to the situation was met and they were exemplary in their act of professionalism...they were professional, but the best part of all that came from this is that they treated me like I was their family needing to resolve a problem. Prior to leaving, I learned that there will be as good as can be expected outcome. Desert Diamond owners, look up this incident and if you are a Manager or Supervisor over anyone who was helping me, please, reward these young men. They represented the facility to fullest on care, knowledge, action, and resolve! They deserve a luncheon, a raise, a day off with pay. While in town for Spring Training we stopped by to try our luck. I was surprised of the size of the place since it's bigger than a few SoCal casinos that we've been to. We came on Thursday night and the place was fairly crowded, they had a band playing in the patio that night. In terms of gambling, the floor is mostly all slots. We tried to find a branded/ themed slot but they were few and far between since they were mostly all the Buffalo ones. Other than slots, they had a few blackjack and not a whole bunch of electronic ones other than off to a small side room.
