We love bringing the kids here for playdates! So happy they took laser tag and the extra bowling out to extend the arcade and put the mini golf in. There's a woman at the front desk who I have seen for years now, I don't know her name, but she wears glasses with black hair kinda curly - she's always so great! I need to catch her name to update this review. She deserves recognition! I do miss the $5 kids meals with a drink and a cookie, last I remember they don't offer it anymore. We walked in & waited to be seated due to limited staff. My husband & I came on Thursday because they have happy hour specials all day until 7p. Our waitress was nice & approached our table after we were seated. We ordered the happy hour garlic parmesan wings, cheese fries, uptown margarita's, shark bite drink & chicken tacos. Our wings were very good in flavor & size, our fries & taco's were not hot @ all like they were sitting back there for awhile. We understood they were understaffed but they only had less than 10 customer's in the restaurant area & more in the bowling areas. The management came over to ask us how our food was early on which was nice of them to check on their customers. One of the manager's even recognized their regular group of ladies & spoke w/ them as well. Also; our waitress Kylee M. took a long time in between to check on us & we had to go up to the bartender to find our waitress so we can get our bill & a to go box. We will definitely be back to enjoy happy hour again & hoping next time all our food brought out hot. I love this place... but had a bad experience today with Sherry, I came in to throw a couple rounds by myself and when she heard it was only me she was being extremely judging and disrespectful, her tone in her voice after saying "just you well ummmmm ok it's gonna be pricy and you only have an hour do you still want to do it" after I said yes multiple times she continued to reassure very rudely. Nothing is wrong with enjoying time alone while PAYING FOR IT don't understand why she had to be so surprised and rude. Guy in the bar was absolutely outstanding! We always come here to play pool and arcade games however today will be our last. I went to order drinks at the bar from a heavier set blonde girl with tattoos who did not look like she enjoyed her job. She made eye contact with me by glaring at me and then continued to walk past me to serve someone else who came up to the bar after me. She then continued to ignore me by walking past me multiple times before I asked her if I could order a drink. She then got extremely confrontational telling me not to yell at her.. I walked away because who wants service from someone like that? And talked to the manager about how rude she was. The manager didn't seem to care about the situation at all. I asked the manager for the bartender's name since my husband and I have ordered drinks from her a couple of other times and she's given us the same attitude. The manager said that the bartenders name was "Miranda" but I don't know if that's accurate since she didn't seem to take us seriously to begin with. We just had our sons 6th birthday party here last Saturday and we are SO happy we made the decision to host it at Uptown Alley! The entire process from reserving the date, the private room, and the package all the way through the end of the event was so easy, and everyone I dealt with was so friendly! Our party host Raylee (sp) was the real MVP!! She constantly checked with us to see if we needed anything, and was so sweet and patient even with over 15 sugar hyped kiddos! Went bowling for the first time in years and I had a blast at Uptown Alley! Fun environment and pretty good music. I'm not the best bowler (even though I killed my competitors), but the bowling wasn't the best part... the Service was. Our server Devin was amazing! He was on it! Last weekend we swung by here to bowl and there was a 2 hour wait walking in around 5:30pm. I called during the week to see if there was any way to get a lane easier. They offer a online reservation you can set up ahead of time. You pay when you check in. We did a 2pm reservation request. Checking in they were moving really slow. Not sure what was going on, but when it was our turn we were set up really fast. Music was booming, lights were flashing, water features were sparkling. What a nice ambiounce. Heads up. They do not clean in between customers. Left over food and drinks were all over the table. The seating was greasy. We sat on a circle cushion near the lane to avoid the mess. Our lane only had 4 balls. Which we ended up having to share with the sweetest group of 7 kids under 12. They were eating pizza and salad so it made the balls greasy and I kept getting food particles stuck to my hands. I had to sanitize in between. All I could do is sanitize and giggle. We are good sports. If you are assigned lane 28 warning it breaks down a lot! Our game kept getting stuck and the awesome kid in shoe rentals helped us a few times when he could. Certain malfunctions he had to request special assistance to fix it behind the scenes. Also the pin counting is off and with thay and ball the malfunctions the scoring was far from accurate. We were only there for fun so we didn't sweat the small stuff. Our time was up after only 2 games having to wait to use a ball and the lane malfunctions so they were kind and gave us 15 minutes to finish our last game. We appreciated that. read more

Today me and my hubby went here to go bowling. It's been forever since we've bowled and figured let's have some fun. I am impressed because they had so many different specials going on. We happened to take advantage of the summer break pass special going on till July 30th. It's a Monday-Friday until 4, you get 2 hours of bowling plus shoe rental & unlimited arcade and laser tag for $15 per person. It was quite busy but thankfully we still got a lane. We bowled the whole 2 hours, laughing at some of our scores but having a great time. We were able to order drinks & pay for them at our table from our phone. Love that! They serve Coke products so another score!! We had a blast playing games. The arcade was also super busy, I didn't get a chance to play a few games because of the wait but we will definitely be back! read more

A group of us went to Uptown Alley for food, drinks and bowling and needless to say, it didn't live up to my expectations. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, but the experience was subpar, especially for the price! We paid over $100 for 3 people to spend 2 hours bowling (the bowling balls were super greasy too, it was pretty gross considering the price we paid). We asked to be in the 21 and over room, which had always been a more chill area to hang out, with less than 10 lanes and a nice bar. I was surprised to see kids bowling in there. Maybe it's changed since my last visit? They didn't bother me, mostly because I couldn't hear anything over the music. My friends and I had to talk so loud to hear each other, my voice was sore by the end of the night. We used the QR code at our lane to order food and drinks, which came quickly. They have a decent selections of beer but it wasn't poured well. The food was ok, nothing special. I ordered the chicken sandwich and it was really charred, not what I expected, but the tater tots were good. It was easy to order and pay through the website. As a Surprise resident, I have been to Uptown Alley many times over the years (there aren't a lot of options nearby), but this was my most underrated experience. Overall, everything was just too expensive for what was being offered. I'm not inclined to return, especially with the new entertainment district being built just a few miles down the road. read more

We came in as a group of 5 friends trying to celebrate a birthday and requested two lanes... he wouldn't allow it because we were a party under 7 people. Until he raises his voice on us and after multiple arguments back and forth, he just leaves the counter all upset because we needed two lanes. All this because of this deal they had going on on Tuesdays. Stay away from dealing with this person. He doesn't deserve to be working there because that place is one of the nicest places to go to in terms of bowling but people like Daryl are what makes a person not want to go there. Way to go Daryl. We have been to Uptown Alley numerous times over the past few years. My boyfriend is an avid bowler and there really aren't options nearby if you live in Surprise, so this is where we go. It's never been an amazing experience, but it's gone downhill for the last few months. We keep hoping it will be better but it just gets worse and worse. There's so much to do and it has potential to be such an awesome place! It's definitely over priced for what it is. We were just there this weekend and about 50% of the games didn't work. But, they didn't have signs on them. Some do say they don't work, so you know not to try them. Others did not, so we would try and it would take our money without letting us play! The first time I let it slide but then we went to the desk and they said "yeah, the machines are old and getting rusty, we will refund whatever you spent and didn't play" which she did. Turns out, it was actually $17! That's a lot of games we didn't even know charged us. Sometimes those card readers don't actually read so you scan again. Apparently they were still taking the money and we didn't even know it. We played a few games and they would breakdown while playing. It was super frustrating. We had called prior to arriving (we live 10 mins away) and they said there was no wait for bowling. When we got there it was a 90 minute wait and there was only one person in line before us. No clue how the wait went from none to 90 minutes when there wasn't even a line. Once we were given a lane we could see that several of their lanes were inoperable. I'm guessing maybe that's why the wait was so high, they had lanes breaking down so it forced them to go on a waitlist, however that's just my guess. We then ordered 4 drinks and some water from the QR code on the table. After 35 minutes they hadn't arrived, so my boyfriend went to the bar and they were just sitting there. The bartender said those drinks had been sitting there for quite a while. He didn't offer to remake them, but said we could take them. The beers were all warm by that point so they were difficult to even drink. Plus, we tipped through the app almost $5.00 ($4.98 I believe) and had to serve ourselves! I had dinner in the crockpot at home so we ordered 2 tater tots appetizers for something to munch on. I went to the kitchen after 30 mins (knowing our drinks just sat there for a long time) and checked to see if our food was just sitting in the window (warmer). It wasn't there but I saw someone load up something that looked like 2 tots and thought maybe that was ours and it was on its way. After 45 minutes I realized I was wrong and those must not have been our tots. I went back to the kitchen and someone asked to help me. I explained and she looked around and said "I'll get some made for you and bring them out". I saw 2 baskets in the window and figured those were our tots but she said she would make new so that was fine. A man brought out our toys about 15 minutes later and they were not hot! He said "I tried to deliver these earlier......(I couldn't hear the rest of what he said)" I was just happy to get our food to munch on as we had been there for almost an hour and were a little hungry. We purchased 2 hours of bowling. Our lane only broke down three times in that timeframe, so it wasn't terrible but still, more than it should! And when your lane breaks down, requiring you to hunt someone down to help because nobody responds to the help button on the lane, they don't even add time back on! One time I personally went to the desk to get help and nobody was there. There was 2 other people up there to complain so by the time the desk person got there, she had to help others which meant we lost about 15 minutes (I didn't time that). Out of all the issues we had, even when employees admitted there was something wrong, we were never once offered anything to make it right from a customer experience perspective. We are all in customer service fields and there could have been things done to make it better. The bartender could have remade our drinks, the server could have either given us hot and fresh tots or refunded us for the issue. The only time things were actually "made right" was the arcade giving us back our $17. But we couldn't do much with it anyway because the games didn't work! Our card still has money on it and maybe we will be back at some point but it's not fun anymore. When you have issue after issue on a night you take your family/friends to have a good time, it becomes frustrating and not worth it anymore. read more
