UNUSUAL STORE ALERT I went inside this store, expecting things to be unusual but I had no idea how unusual ... As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by a squawking rooster, strutting his stuff in a caged area right on the showroom floor. Who needs window displays when you can have chickens on full display? Talk about convenience - pick up your chicken and animal food in one go ! But wait, there's more! As I made my way through the store my eyes got bigger and bigger and BIGGER.... They had goat feed, pig feed, and even llama feed. I mean, talk about catering to every farm animal's dietary needs. And if that wasn't enough, they had live parakeets and other colorful birds, fluttering around in their own designated cages in the store. It was like stepping into a miniature zoo, minus the elephants and lions. But the real showstoppers were the adorable baby chicks, hopping and chirping about with a nice sized "pond" at their disposal..... They were the stars of the show, stealing the hearts of anyone who laid eyes on them. I wanted to buy one... but alas (!)... no place to put it.... I actually love the TikTok Channels that have ostrich, peacocks and baby chicks in them... very entertaining

Jody has been so great at helping me with my picky eater with allergies. And she's helping me learn along the way!! Thank you

Do you give rabies shots or can I get one to took home and give him?

Hello, no I’m sorry. Rabies vaccines need to be administered by a veterinary office.

Oh what a great place, a real gem for Cowgirls and Cowboys looking for some gently used tack,…read moreclothes, saddles, bits, & boots. My niece and I found some really great finds. Bridle, saddle & beautiful set of reins. The Tack Shack has been around for years on the property of REINS Therapeutic Horsemanship. Barbara started & grew the Tack Shack over the years into this local tack shop of used donated items from very generous donators. With great prices & a great selection you will find a few things you need to start your tack collection or pick up a must needed addition to your supplies. Be sure & tell your friends about the Tack Shack & tell Barbara you found them on Yelp. From their website: About the Tack Shack REINS Tack Shack is a thrift store full of horse equipment and apparel. The store has a wide variety of used clothing, Western and English tack, horse care products, blankets, wraps, books, gifts, and more! Located: 4461 S. Mission Road, Fallbrook, CA 92028 Hours: Tuesday-Saturday 11:00AM-4:00PM Email: tackshack@reinsprogram.org Direct Line: 760-723-1590 History In 1999 we found ourselves brimming with tack donations for our therapeutic riding lessons. We had so many donations that we could not use them all. We decided to open up a used tack store. In a little 10 x 10 Storage shed (that was really more of a shack) we opened up one day a week to resell all the generous donations we could not use. In 2002 we built a new building for our store. Because of its humble beginning we named it the Tack Shack. Today the Tack Shack is open five days a week and is run with the help of volunteers. Barbara Larsen is the Manager, taking care of the planning and inventory of the Tack Shack. We have customers from all over Southern California and donations from as far as Minnesota. All proceeds from the Tack Shack go directly to REINS and our students.

I ended up buying more than I planned for but I needed it and got good advice. Considering I live in Northern California and go to this shop when in San Diego says something. Good selection of used saddles too. When I get a new horse, I'll be shopping here and driving down from Northern California. I grew up in San Diego and just don't know of a place in Northern California that has good personal service. So drive, I will.

Came into this business again last week after my last visit which was quite a while ago…read more... Previously, I had purchased everything for my young child at this little shop when she started ridding lessons a few years ago and spent a significant amount of money.... Three stars is in all honesty, is pretty generous here.....for a few reasons unfortunately.... Still like this place, great consignment items and I like to support a small family owned businesses. But I pretty much came across an ice Queen who was working there last week and it seemed like she could have cared less if she had my business or not; which was pretty unfortunate.... Not sure of her name but she was an older woman and she did not seem happy to be there. No greeting. No offer to help me find anything. I had to ask on my own and little effort was put forward to help me and zero effort was made to make me feel welcome. I kind of have a feeling if she didn't know you and you weren't a regular customer, she could have cared less about you....Unfortunately, this is something we come across quite often in the equestrian world, it can be pretty darn clicky.... One other thing, a lot of the items that are on consignment were absolutely filthy. I'm talking years of built up horse hair, grease and dirt.. .I suggest making people wash things first before accepting them in your store for consignment. Selling used boots with crusty horse crap on the bottom of them for over a 100 bucks? I just can't go there.... I also know times are hard for all of us. It's hard to make a living, especially as a business owner. But have a little more pride you know- dust your shop, clean up the merch, at least greet your customers! I hope this review helps and I hope I can come in again and see improvement.....
