All I have to say is wow!! Owner is blessed with really nice & kind employees. I don't ever have time to get out of my car to pick up my dogs food so I call, give my CC over the phone and put in my order, let them know what car I will be in and the arrival time and BOOM! ... they come out put the items in my car. While the staff are wonderful, the owner has ZERO customer service and actually seems to go out of her way NOT provide even basic service (telling a 78 year old woman "oh, we don't put the BALE of hay into two bags ANYMORE because it makes a mess"). This was a service ALWAYS OFFERED by the store and HAPPILY provided by STAFF. I have been a loyal customer since this owner's purchase of the store (over 3 years ago) but this was the last "straw" and I will be taking my business elsewhere! read more

Today I went into desert feed bag in Indio Ca to buy a few things for my horse. When I walked inside the radio in there was blasting so loud it was unbearable. I walked over to the horse halters ,the owner a woman said can I help you. She had her infant baby in her arms. I said yes I would like to find a average size halter. She said we have a few green Or dark blue. I said Oh any other colors other than that maybe purple or red it's for a mare. She looked at me and walked away. So I decided not to purchase a halter. Her back was turned with the radio blasting and I said is this jar the same as glucosamine? She turned around and gave me the dirtiest look and said I am talking to somebody right now ! I said I did not know the radio is too loud for me to hear anything else. I told her she did not have to be so hostile towards me. She also told me then I could leave and not shop there and Told me that I have the nerve to ask for a different color of halter while the Corona virus is going on ! I was shocked and embarrassed to say the least. The other customer that she said she was talking to was also very Embarrassed ! She once again told me if I did not like it I can leave. I did not say anything to provoke this.I said look I have had a great experience in here untell now ! She was more worried about the Corona virus then her customers. She was so worried about it she was walking around the store with her Infant child. You know this woman owner severely abused me. And thought it was OK not even an apology. Does everybody see what this outbreak is doing to everybody ! Hostile people fights, We should all be sticking together understanding and supporting each other not fighting . I buy supplies at the Indio store, they have taken in a McCaw and named her Hope. Hope is a large bird and needs a cage that she can move around in and have toys to play with. The cage she has now is much to small for a large bird. Please give Hope the proper housing. Thank you. read more

This place is awesome. I've been coming here for my horse needs for a few years, but my family and I decided to start raising chickens for eggs. We had no clue what we were doing! The staff at Desert Feed Bag were super friendly and knowledgeable. They never scoffed at the idea of learning to raise chickens. - Desert Feed Bag changed owners maybe a year ago or a bit over a year ago and I was a bit worried at first, but the new owners are fantastic.
