This credit union does not take Zelle. Hard to believe but true. They have something called pay it now if you want to pay someone direct and it looks almost scam me so anyone that I am sending money to I have to start off by telling them that it's not a scam. The service is usually decent here although not all of the customer service people know what they're telling you is accurate. I absolutely love Desert Financial. I've had all the big banks and they've done nothing but screw up my accounts and charge me ridiculous fees. I finally have a bank that I'm not getting charged ridiculous fees at. Also Customer Service is always phenomenal. I can actually get a hold of a person and talk to somebody without being on an automated system for 10-30 minutes like the big boys. Never once have I had a bad situation with Desert Financial. Absolute worst customer service of all time, I had my identity stolen and they called me a lier and denied the claim, now I have no money till my next paycheck, the gave me no reason why it was denied, and showed no empathy for my situation, if you valve you money don't bank here, one day it might disappear with no recourse and zero empathy. We have a $80,000 auto loan with this company and OMG, from day one have had nothing but problems. Yes the interest rate is great but the lack of professional customer service is lacking from the ground up! To make a telephone payment on this loan $10.00 fee!! One Late fee (which occurred because they changed their name and my bank wasn't notified) cost me $67.00. Really!?!? My spouse is my Financial power of attorney and yet I have to give the bank permission to speak with him EACH time I call in!?!?! Really!?!?? I've only been met by nice employees but...the drive thru takes *sooo* much time. I've been here multiple times because it's closest to my house but I'm contemplating making a farther drive to a different one just because the wait is always so unnecessarily long. There has only been one time where an employee came out and started going car to car to help but that was one time. There has been multiple times where I'm the only car, thinking it'll be quick for a basic deposit or withdrawal...but nope. It takes ~20 minutes every time I've been here. read more

Been a customer for nearly 20 years. Was very happy to have a branch closer to home without having to go into Walmart. Have had multiple unpleasant experiences at this office. Snippy tellers, tellers have out right lied because they were too lazy to help customers. Needed customer service on a recent visit to discuss investing. Despite the fact that none of the 4 reps were with customers, no one was waiting, besides me, I waited more than 10 minutes and gave up. To make a deposit for someone else, they require a drivers license even after saying mine was on file. Each time you do any transaction, even for someone else, they copy your license. Seems like BS. August 2016 Seems nothing has changed. I was told by one teller I no longer had to give them my license to make a deposit because it was on file. Just went this week and had my head ripped off by a teller, who refused to give her name, for not giving her my ID. She admitted it was on her screen, she could see it was me but since I had the nerve to make a deposit for an account other than my own, I have to prove my identity....? Even though I'm a member, really? She then refused to give me my deposit receipt. She came out to my car to throw it at me. Found out later her name is Shelby. I find the review below interesting in that they actually reprimanded a teller. Based on their behavior I wouldn't have thought that ever happened there. On or about 4/11/18 I went into the Alma School Branch to inquire about acquiring an auto loan and possibly opening a personal checking account. Janett took all of my information and when she started telling me that I would be required to have a savings account (with a fee) in order to have a checking account I played "Nancy Regan" and just said no and left. Today I found 3 envelopes from Desert Financial in my Mailbox, two saying I had given them permission to involve me in their "Discretionary Privilege Pay" plan and one was a statement showing a beginning balance of $0.00, Credits of $0.00, Debits of $0.00, a service charge of $9.00 and an ending balance of $-9.00 - i.e. ME OWING THEM $9.00 for an account that I never opened or funded. I don't know if they're trying to play a game of "Wells Fargo" with everyone who walks in talking about a loan or personal account, but in my eyes, their mailing me a statement (and presumably by now overdraft charges, or daily negative balance charges) that I owe them anything amounts to MAIL FRAUD similar to the movie "The Firm". read more

I've been using this branch since it opened and have never had any issues with customer service. Everyone has always been polite and helped me with exactly what I needed. I've had to bring my small children in with me several times and the employees go out of their way to interact with them, giving them stickers and such. read more

For those that know me, you know that I rarely spend my time writing negative reviews. I tend to lean towards writing positive reviews for those establishments that are epic. This time, I just had to write this. I learned more in five minutes inside this "credit union" than I thought possible. I have just moved down the street from this business. As I was out shopping, I figured I would stop by and use the ATM and then look into this credit union. Having done that and paid the $4 transaction fee, I walked up to a teller. It should be noted that from the ATM to the teller (about 30 feet) I watched a supervisor/manager scolding an employee publicly. Everyone could hear it. Back to the teller. As I approached, she asked what she could help me with. I asked her to exchange some bills from the ATM for a couple of larger ones and was starting to ask her about an account, but she literally cut me off with "do you have an account?" to which I replied "no, not yet" and she matter of factly stated that she could not help me and that I would need to get my business done elsewhere. She was extremely rude. The lunacy of my having just taken money out of their ATM and there refusal to exchange a few bills for a larger denomination baffles me, but it was truly her attitude that cemented my decision to leave. She even went on to say that maybe I should take my business to Wells Fargo. I was stunned. Between her and the manager yelling at the other employee, it was easy for me to see that this was DEFINITELY not a place I wanted to be associated with and I stated that I definitely would not open an account and left. If this is what an ordinary customer sees in 5 minutes inside this place, it is apparent that this credit union is very broken and you may be better with your financial needs elsewhere.
