This is a follow up to my review of May 11, 2026. Desert King contacted me after the first review and I explained my concerns. Juan came out and did a great job finishing everything to our satisfaction. We got the correct hardware, he touched up and caulked the areas that needed caulking. He also caulked along the floor on the side to cover the gap left from removing the old door and transition. The only thing that Desert King needs to do is improve the communication when a customer tries to call about a project. If they can do that they would awesome. read more

I had gotten 3 estimates and chose Desert King for a few reasons. Their price wasn't the lowest, but it wasn't much higher for a better product. (Make sure to go with windows that were designed to handle the desert heat, and not the same window they use in Iowa!) The installer was Blake, and he was great. Initially, we were off to a very rough start. However, overtime, I can truthfully say, the product of this company with their windows are pretty amazing! Customer service is also spot on. We had some issues with a slider door from the start. The installation, the pricing, everything about it was problematic. Including a very recent adjustment where the slider would not even close Nor lock. However, they were able to make it to my home in a timely manner and actually fix the problem. I am extremely grateful and very impressed. And it has changed my view on the company as a whole. I had multiple doors and windows replaced in May of 2024. I was promised the job would be done in a day about 2 months after initial payment, It took several months. There was damage to my floors and scuffs on walls, rubbish left in the yard. I'm not even going to get into the lock issue. Pretty sure it's a fire hazard to install key locks that can only be opened from the outside. The reason for my review today so long after the fact is how cold my house is. All the doors and windows are extremely drafty. It's colder than before I had them installed. For $11k, I'd expect much better quality and service. I'm putting towels under My door to help with cold air coming through. In the months it took to complete this, all the service crews were different people. They seemed to have no notes on what was done before hand. The one day there were extreme wind warnings. But, none of the panels and supplies they brought were the right size. I can dig for more proof but here is an email for reference. Avoid this company. They also stopped responding to calls and emails when things went awry. read more

They advertise a "no pressure" sales estimate and it is a true statement unlike their competitor which we also received a estimate from. He actually came several more times because of my mistake of not knowing how to use the latch to open the screen door. Okay, folks, there's good and bad. So much bad. Just so much bad. What's good. The patio doors. Love them. And that's all the good I can say. First, the salesman came. Second, the measuring person came. Then bad things happened after that. On installation day (about 8 weeks later) it was discovered that one door was ordered correctly, and one was not and would be reordered. The installation process was pure hell. The crew used an electric circular saw to cut out the existing door. They did ABSOLUTELY NO PREP WORK. Our living room, kitchen, and everything in them was covered in drywall dust. The swimming pool was loaded with dust. It was awful. (Found out from the second crew, the circular saw was rarely needed to remove existing doors so this crew was just effing lazy). But everything worked and three days later, my husband and I had everything cleaned up. Absolutely disgraceful. Then came the second installation 8 weeks later. Three crews showed up. A duo. A second duo. A single guy. Five guys. They looked like they did a good job. Yes, I said 'looked.' They had the wrong finish on the handle (inside and outside, with both doors, I had three white and one silver handle.) The installer said he'd go back to the shop and check to see if they had the white (because installers are taught to schmooz the client) and would fix it right away. He would call me when he got back to the shop. Well, that didn't happen. But worse than that, the morning after installation, we couldn't unlock the door at all. If there had been a fire we would have died. So I called the office. Okay, keep in mind, installers start early, 7:30 ish, but the office doesn't take calls until 10am. Somehow I connected with a guy in Arizona. I explained the handle and the door being locked. He said he had me on the list for today, somebody would be out to the house, didn't they call me? No, they did not. He likes them to call by 7:30 am. Really? I've been in the business world 40 years and you don't call people at 7:30 am. This person in Arizona had the nerve to tell me that I ordered the wrong handle!!!! Say what. I schooled him that I ordered nothing, either his salesman, measuring man, or person who placed orders made the damn mistake, not me. After insulting me, he told me to calm down. Then he said the repairman would be to our house at 9am, then he called back and said the repairman had car troubles and would be here at 9:30. Then the repairman called and said he would be to us after noon because car troubles were going to make him miss a doctor appt. He was able to fix the lock, but the white handle he brought did not fit. Four weeks later, they brought the correct handle. What's this, 5 or 6 visits now? Anyway, summer was over and we now closed the screen door. And that lock didn't work. So the repairman came out, changed the lock, and that lock didn't work either. So he drilled more holes, that were now visible and ugly as hell, and that didn't work either. So he said he'd get his field manager to come out the next day and look at it. Another week went by and he was coming with his field manager. He got to the house and apologized, but his field manager was NOT coming after all. Two minutes later the field manager called and, lo and behold, he had a cancellation and would come to the house after all. After a little detective work, he found that the five man crew didn't square the door properly and NO screen lock was going to work so he ordered an entirely new frame, and yep, you guessed it, another crew came out another 3 weeks later, took the entire door out, replaced the fame and put it all back together. The crew suggested I get a discount if I wasn't paid up, but I was. For this trouble, you would think a gift card, something? Also they have not paid my neighbor who referred them to us either.( Update: They called me after I left this review elsewhere and I mentioned this. Three days later, my neighbors finally received their referral check. Shameful because I had mentioned it to Veronica and several crew leaders and managers at least four times prior.) Okay, so it only took about 8 or 9 or 10 visits to get this order completed. It was only two patio doors. Luckily my hubby and I are retired. For as good as the doors are, if you have a job where you're expected to report to work, you would be fired for missing so much work or you would have used ALL your vacation days. Just a warning, the doors are good, the company may be okay, the workers suck. BEWARE. read more

I got my windows replaced last Spring 2022. Everything went great. In November a golf ball hit window. I called to use the lifetime warrenty to get it replaced. Someone was scheduled to evaluate the situation. All was great. Called today to set up day to have window installed. Told I had to pay trip fee of $150. Wasn't happy about that as i had not heard of that before. Spoke with Kenny about it and he decided to wave the fee this time especially since it had not even been a year since windows were replaced.
