Waaaaaay overpriced compared to several other companies. Not to mention their sales rep is like a used car salesman. Looked at our current doors for all of 5 seconds, basically said they are hideous and then moved on to the sales pitch! Also said our hinges were not security hinges and could pull out the pin; yet he could not because they are security hinges with a center lock. He then said 9k and $8,250 for French doors - insanity!!! He also tried to sell the 9k door first like it was all they had then when we brought up the other brand they sold he said - yes they are a bit cheaper. Could care less about discussing anything except prices and going on and on and on about how they are the best and all other companies are terrible. Brought in sales material - when we commented that he appeared to be a bit high he was offended. He then began to leave and made a smart comment on his way out "Call Anderson see how much they cost, good luck." read more

I got quotes from 5 different sources, he was only about ten percent above the cheapest, but as they say, you get what you pay for. Had an absolutely horrible experience with AHE from start to finish. Joe and his sales person came to my house and made a ton of promises, and did not live up to any of them. Once they had my money, Joe was completely non-respondent and did nothing to resolve any of the issues with his team's work. To sum it up: - They started the work later than the initial estimated time frame they gave me -Joe was "out of town" and sent his crew here despite not having the standard supervision, by his own comments to me -The crew did not finish the job, despite me being told it would take a few hours and be finished in one day -No one followed up with me to finally complete the work, I had to call/text them several times over the course of weeks while I had half-finished doors -Joe's team ruined my patio furniture, left dust/debris all over my living room and patio -Joe team left trash on the street in front of my house I was told repeatedly by Joe and his sales person that they would treat my home as if it was their own. They both repeated the line that "everything will be the same as you see it now". That was NOT the case, and I ended up cleaning up Joe's mess for several hours. Save yourself some money and get your service done elsewhere, because AHE was by-far the most expensive quote we got but we got horrible service. I had all my windows done years ago. One of my windows cracked recently and called them to see if they could fix it. First, I was told that the company was bought or absorbed by a new company. They said they would take care of me; I did not care whether I paid for the repair as I figured they were no longer under warranty I was sure. The gentleman kept stringing me along as if they were going to help me. They never got back to me over a month time, did not communicate well for a business. Another great experience with AHE! We've used them a couple of other times over the years - to replace front and back doors and a few windows. We needed to replace a couple of other windows at this time and didn't hesitate to call Joe. He gave us a very fair quote and here we sit 7 weeks later with two new beautiful custom-made windows! I had pretty bad rot on my back door from a constant ac drip. I got three quotes for a solid door with no glass - renewal by Andersen $5500, the window and door store $4500, and AHE $3000. I felt like the other companies were very sales pitchy and extremely overpriced. I ended up choosing a door with AHE that did have a glass pane and it was still far cheaper than the other two companies were quoting for a solid door. The owner is who came out to do my quote and he was so kind. His son is who answers the phone 99% of the time when you call and he's also very polite. I ordered same day that AHE gave me the quote and received a call exactly 4 weeks later that the door had arrived and was ready for install. There were 3 guys that came to do the job. I know it may not seem big but I really appreciated the fact that it was a diverse team. They were so respectful of the property, polite, and did a phenomenal job. They taped and plastic wrapped the door to prevent dust from going all over the house. The door looks so amazing and shuts like it should. It took them about 4 hours from arrival to departure. If we do any future doors or windows we will for sure hire them again. read more

I love my new windows, slider and security door installed by AHE. The installers were great, very professional and kept my house as clean as it could be for doing this job. There was delays in this project some due to covid some due to mistakes but all in all, everything was fixed and I'm enjoying them. What a totally unprofessional company. Very rude. Has no idea about customer service. I absolutely would not recommend this company. The salesman was actually very nice and did a great sales job on me and gave a quote in writing which we verbally agreed. He then texted me a day later to say his Boss/Owner has told him it's $300 more (given to me in writing on text) and that he and his boss would call me a few days later to make a site visit. I never got the call! I then called back and got a story from the 'Owner' about how he had screwed up and it would be more cost. So I asked how much more and he said he'd call me back. Once again, he never called me back. I then called him back again, and he said it's gone up now by a further $800!!! I asked why does the price keep changing when I said that I had the quote in writing from the sales guy who did the initial visit, and the 'old guy Owner' put the phone down on me. How terrible!!!! I was infact willing to pay the extra but I certainly won't be now and will be letting my community home owners not to use this company. The worst service I have ever received! read more

I interviewed a few of the popular companies, some were good some were horrible. I found American home exteriors very easy and pleasant to deal with while setting up the consultation. I was delighted that the owner himself came out to do the estimate. I found Joe to be very personable and easy to speak with, his knowledge of the industry and product was vast and very helpful. He presented me with what I felt was a very fair and honest price. Install was scheduled and completed for when discussed at time of signing contract, actually a little sooner. I contacted AHE because of their good Yelp reviews. Joe came over and gave me a verbal quote. Seemed very straight forward and that the product is quality. He said he'd email a written and itemized version quote to me by next morning. I waited and followed up late the following day to ask for it, and he acted like it was an extra request and then wanted to confirm that I actually wanted to do the work before sending me the quote (as though it wasn't worth the time to write a quote if I was not serious). That written quote came in 29% higher than the verbal quote! I brought this up with Joe, and he responded that he'd honor the verbal quote if I committed to start the work. I then told him I was getting frustrated and he said we'd better part ways. What's relevant here is that this is a small house and the job was $12000. Perhaps if you have a bigger house/job, or if you're an older adult, you'll have a different experience. But if yours isn't a big job because you live in a smaller home, or you're a younger person, be prepared to receive second class treatment. I'd read a similar review of him when he was at Republic and was concerned this would happen. read more

I had American Home Exteriors come out for a free estimate. Joe (who is one of the owners) came out to take a look at our sliding glass door. During the visit he made a rude comment. I finished up the conversation, got a card from him and he left. I then called the next day to talk to him about the rude comment and very respectfully mentioned that it was un called for and that he should treat customers better. He then laughed at me, and when I politely said that it was rude to laugh at my concerns he got agitated and denied it. I told him I didn't want an argument and that he just needed to know that you should not treat customers in this manner, he hung up on me. I will be looking for a different company who knows how to treat clients well and would not recommend this company to anyone. read more

We had a break in and the doors were damaged to the point that they needed to be replaced. Joe came out, gave us an estimate while we were at the house and a reasonable timeline to get the doors installed. We attempted to get other quotes and had one other company ask for pictures and then sent a quote that did not take into account what we asked for. Another one came out, said they would get us a quote and then two months later (after AHE had already done the work) called and asked if we had gotten a quote from them and did we still want the work done! Joe's team cam out as scheduled and installed two doors (front door and patio door) in one day, both look and work perfectly and the installation was so clean you can;t tell any work as done. Great job and reasonable price. They will be getting the job for our window replacements next year. read more
