I am getting a Pedicure here for the first and last time. It's about 90 degrees in here as the location does not have a AC. Everybody is very nice but I had to ask the lady to recut my nails 3 times. Also she must of cut me 3 times in the process. While filing my nail she scratched over my toes more than actually getting nhNone of the tools used were properly sanitized. She just rinsed it off in the sink next to me and put it back. The toe dividers for the color are just rolled up paper towels. I was given a gift certificate to this place and based on the reviews I would not have come had it been my money that I was using. I am so glad I went. I don't usually get my nails done but I was going to a wedding. I went with Ann because she had a couple of decent reviews. It seems to me the reason she doesn't have more reviews is that her clientele is older and probably doesn't know what yelp is. Ann did a great job, and didn't sand down the tops of my natural nails unnecessarily. I have been to a couple of different places where they took off too much and hurt me. Ann was nice, not very chatty, and didn't roll her eyes when I picked a color. I do think $55 for gel polish on my nails and toes is a bit pricey-my doctor doesn't charge that much-but it has lasted 3 weeks no chipping or lifting. My pictures were taken at 2 weeks. read more

Had a great experience. Almost didn't come because of some of the bad reviews. But took a chance ! Glad we did . hubby and I were greeted warmly by name (I made an appt) offered beverages , made sure we were comfy . Sunny did mine and he was so kind and helpful and made sure I had everything I needed. Very gentle ! Would definitely come back !!!! Also they cover their pedi bowls so it is very sanitary. I have been faithfully going to desert nails since my sister and I moved here from Reno approximately 3 months ago. We have had issues with some of the services there but today was by far the worst! I went in for a fill and a pedicure and during my fill (which was done 1st) the lady answered her phone and called people 5 times throughout this service, then she went as far as taking a waxing appointment during the service and saying O could you just wait 5 minutes please. I requested my fill be done a certain way because I'm a body builder and a personal trainer and must have my nails thick otherwise they break Her answer to this was they look fine and if they break I'll do again so not even completing the service the way I requested. When you blatantly do what you want instead of what your client requests you no longer need clients and shouldn't be in a customer service based business. Needless to say I cancelled my pedicure and left. read more

I usually come in with my Pintrest pics and Ivy has done a great job mimicking all of them. Now that I have moved across town, I still head to this salon every few weeks. Came in as a first-timer and a walk-in and was seated immediately bec the place was dead... which was honestly already a red flag and probably a sign that I should walk tf out but I stayed anyway. Always go with your gut y'all. If you were looking for a nail salon and happen to come across this review, I'll be your sign or your gut, don't come here. Anyway, I came in for a gel full set. Here we go: Second red flag: he started glueing my tips and anyone who gets tips knows how strong the glue normally used is; a small drop is just enough. Not in my case though, homeboy had to put a couple drops, place the tip, and then put more glue on top of the tip. That method isn't unheard of but every finger? Really? A few tips wouldn't even stick on the first go, literally would fall off - that tells me the glue is old. Third red flag: he could not get coffin/ballerina shape down. I had to tell him to taper it more. Even now, they still look square and pretty uneven to me. Fourth red flag: when he starts putting the gel, the application looked immediately off, so I ask him "is that polish running out or is it old" and he goes "no, you just have to put it under the light". I'm like fine, whatever, do your thing, you're the pro. As he's putting the second coat on, I'm like "there's bubbles and it's clumpy". I didn't blame him, I blamed the old polish. He tried to buff the bubbles off but it wasn't working. So I asked to switch colors and I can tell that pisses him right off. But I'll take the attitude over old polish. Anyway, I get my new color, and he starts putting it on TOP of the first color. I'm like WTF at this point. He tells me to put my other hand with the shitty bubbles under the light so he can apply my new color and I'm like "no, then I'll have 3 layers of gel, 2 of which I don't want". Luckily, his coworker and his client were right next to us and the client was totally sympathizing with me bec she can see the mess that was next to her. She sounds off first "you have to take off the other color" and then his coworker sides with the both of us "that's too many layers, file it off, and put the new color on". At this point, tech is pissed, I'm irritated. He files the old color off and finishes the polish BUT it's still shitty. The polish looked fine at application so nooow, I place the tech at fault that my nails look like this. As I got up from my chair, the woman next to me gave me the most sympathetic smile bec she just knew how bad this was. If you made it this far, morals of the story: go with your gut and you get what you pay for. I forgot to mention - I have 2 cuts under my nails and I'm bleeding from 2 cuticles. So I have 4 stinging finger tips. So as much as I'd like to get this mess fixed, it would be painful and unhygienic. The WORST. read more

They take their time with manicures and do a good job making it looked polished in the very end. I just got a full white tip set and I'm pretty happy with it, but the skin by my ring finger was burned by the burrs of the instrument. The experience really depends on which nail tech you get here. The old man with glasses (I'll find out his name!) always does a wonderful job, has years of experience and is very friendly! The pedicures are great. The polish stays on for at least a straight month! They could spend a little more time on the massage portion of the pedi though. Overall, great location, friendly staff and decent prices. read more

Okay, so I am a girly girl. I still have a strong opinions regarding the DH rule and wicked collection of sports memorabilia. But back to being a girly girl...I have few things that give me pure bliss than my weekly mani and my bi-weekly pedi. My nails (both hands and feet) are fabulous! I have Desert Nails to thank for it. Now, my suggestion is to only have your nails done there. The waxing is a bit barbaric! I usually don't scream in pain while have parts of me waxed---however it happened at Desert Nails! But the mani's and pedi's are heaven. Complete with a hardcore leg and arm massage. They even paint the sexiest, funky little flowers on my toes. read more

2 stars for having a clean salon and my nail tech was really nice. Well, it was her first day at that location, so I think she had to make a good impression on her new bosses. She was nice, but my nails ended up thick and my gels chipped in a day (grrr). Missing stars for stupid charges. I went to replace the polish on my gel manicure. Now, every other salon in town DOES NOT charge you for gel soak off if you are getting gels again! Oh no, this salon will advertise "$23" gel manicure and throw in $5 soak off if you currently have gels. Really stupid! Sure I understand if I was getting a regular manicure instead, the soak off charge would be legitimate, I almost feel like it's borderline "bait and switch" ! I wanted to say something, and inquire as to why the ridiculous charge, but didn't want my mini spa day to put me in a bad mood. Well, it did anyway because I left there feeling overcharged and unappreciated. I would avoid this place if at all possible. I got a gel manicure got it done Saturday here we are Monday the gel is cracking.. and it's not really hard like I got them before I got them done before at another shop and the gel was so hard.. This was literally the WORST manicure I've ever had!! Not even three days ago I got my nails and toes done and you can see for yourself the outcome. Nails started chipping the very next day and I'll post a picture of my receipt also so you can see the date stamped. I go in today to have them fix my nails and they tell me that the are only guaranteed for two days. My manicures in the past have lasted much longer than a week. I've painted my nails at home and they've looked better than this. Also look at my cuticles!! They are a mess even worse than when I went in. Hangnails galore . Do not go here... I should have know better. Years ago I went here for a brow wax and the lady took off half my left eye brow and when I told her she messed up my brow she had the nerve to say, "No, it looks good." I was drawing in my eyebrows for weeks, I never had to to do that. Fast forward today, I paid $25 for a pedicure and they couldn't even adequately file my nails, clean up my heels and paint my toes nails.
