We came here to see Dr Miko Porter. I had called and left a message for Dr. Miko Porter's assistant one week before our appointment. We had an appointment scheduled for a Monday. We weren't notified until we got to the office that our appointment had been canceled by the office manager. I had called a week before because of a medical issue requesting a return phone call immediately. No one returned my call. Communication with the Dr staff is almost nonexistent. The doctor gave a significant diagnosis in a matter of fact way that was shocking. I would never recommend anyone come here. read more

I visited this facility yesterday [01/21/25] and went in expecting poor service due to the very poor Yelp reviews. My experience was wonderful. Reception was professional and quick to express needed information to me. I was seen within 10 minutes by Dr. Eli for a nerve study, followed almost immediately by Dr Ross for a muscle study. Both were professional and compassionate. I don't know what the expectations were of some of the negative posts, but my experience was fine. Only regret, is the the results were not to my liking. The first neurologist I was referred to had no appts for 7 months. I then got referred to Dr ElHajar who I have seen in the past. There were indications of Parkinson's which was why the referral. After meeting with him, the Dr. indicated that I likely had Parkinson's, prescribed medication and said come back in 90 days. He said if the medicine worked, I had Parkinson's. If it didn't work, I didn't have it. No discussion as to explaining what "worked" meant or what to look for. I left extremely upset as a Parkinson's diagnosis is pretty awful. I called his office the next day and asked for any brochures or flyers about Parkinson's and the young lady said they had nothing. How does a doctor deliver this diagnosis and gave no discussion or information as to what to expect or how to deal with it? It is 3 weeks tomorrow since I was there. I was supposed to be referred for physical therapy and have had no response. I just called for the second time today and left another message. I am asking my primary for another referral to get a second opinion or, at least, a more empathetic and informing doctor. read more

Scheduled a sleep study overnight stay at the office/facility. Upon letting us in, late evening schedule, I was welcomed with an odor in the air, turned out the room I was going to have the sleep study was filthy, trash bin by the door was overflowing with empty food wrappers and empty soda can and the room emanates stale food odor so badly!! I told the tech that I will not do the sleep study under this condition!! He proceeded to take out the filled trash bin. He told me the air coming from the cpap machine device is filtered room air but I can still detect odor in the air. Two days later I got very sick with respiratory infection, bronchitis, went to Urgent Care and was given antibiotics and inhaler for congested breathing! In fact, I am not fully recovered as I write this! I spoke to the office manager and told her that I got very sick after, from my sleep study experience. She spoke to the owner Dr Alijjhar? And that she was calling an office meeting about my complaint the next day! I will never go back and set foot in that office ever again!!! read more

Will never come here again, receptionist and neurologist are unprofessional and rude. If you're hispanic and need a translator, definitely go elsewhere these people aren't here to help us, specially Dr. Porter and her assistants. read more

Not a very good assessment. My brother had 2 strokes. We had to go out of pocket for a second opinion. The staff was helpful. The doctors seemed uninterested in actually helping and were obviously over-worked. This is unfortunate. read more

Dr.Elijar is very polite and professional. He answers my questions one by one and always takes my opinions into consideration. He's committed to making sure my seizures are controlled with the right medicine that won't take a toll on my mental health. He's not like any other doctor that just prescribes you medicine and sends you on your way. He will listen to your concerns and takes into consideration your past history and gives you medicine that will HELP you and not just drug you up like other doctors do. He has truly changed my life, and thanks to him my epilepsy is under control! read more

I was seen by local health clinic who made an urgent referral to Desert Neurology and Sleep. I was directed to follow up with the practice hours after the referral made. I made a call and received a voicemail indicating that a returned call would be made to any calls received before 4pm. I made repeated daily calls and had one interaction with the scheduler, Carina, who then transferred me to a billing technician who explained I could not schedule an appointment until my insurance was verified. I then continued to make daily phone calls that were directed a voice mailbox with requests to return my call to schedule my urgent referral. Now, over a week later, I finally get a returned call saying that Dr. Elhajjar was made aware of my referral and is not able to take any urgent referrals. " He apologizes!" So after a week of my following up to manage my care, I receive this response. The scheduler, Carina, made no efforts to make any apologies when I asked about it taking a week to return my calls. She took no accountability and her response to my confronting her lack of care and follow through to transfer me to the office manager to make my complaint. I waited for over ten minutes for the manager to come to take the transferred call before the system then hung up on me. I then made an additional call and asked to speak directly to the manager. Carina answered and transferred by call. I received yet another voice mailbox! Unprofessional! As someone who works in the medical field it is frustrating to know that practices like this exist and that managing the care of folks who are experiencing medical issues is not genuinely handled. I will be sure to spread the word and also encourage my local clinic to refrain from further referrals. read more

If you have an urgent need for help or referrals or paperwork, go elsewhere. They wont call you back. Then I actually went there in person to drop off my paperwork, and I waited and waited. There was no sign that said out to lunch. Nobody was at the front desk. A person in a back office peeked out at me and then closed the door. After about 15 minutes and lots of "hello" called to the back, nobody came out. Then Fed Ex arrived and the same person came out to get the packages and tried to ignore me again. I had to push to hand her the envelop and say that's all I needed before she closed the door. She had no interest in helping me whatsoever. Again, go elsewhere. Update: I finally got an appointment for the doctor and left forms to complete. She said five days. I went back the following week and was treated very rudely. I quietly sat and waited four hours to get the completed forms back. They said, "You're wasting our time that we should be spending on patients" and refused to give me my paperwork. They said I had to wait until Friday - two days later. On Friday I find out they did the paperwork Wednesday and sent it to my insurance company. They never told me and never gave me the forms. They were just mean girls. Run - go elsewhere unless you like being treated disrespectully. read more

Any health facility is only as good as it's staff. Dr.ondono has been fantastic in addressing my migraines and cluster headaches. I feel very confident in her medical abilities, but also really appreciate her style and mannerism and how she communicates clearly and responsively. This center is a bit away from my residence in Palm Springs, but it's well worth the drive to see her. The staff at the front desk is always helpful and responsive, as well. My calls are returned no later than the next day, at the latest. The phone consultations have also been very helpful during the few times I couldn't get down there to address an issue. Based on all my experiences with my doctor and the facility, I would recommend it! read more

Horrible service! I was referred to this clinic by my primary doctor. I am on disability and I needed some paperwork completed as well as my medications refilled. The doctor didn't examine me! All he did was ask me to walk across the room without using my cane. The paperwork was to be filled out to state I wasn't working and my conditions why. He told me he couldn't fill it out because having seizures doesn't make me disabled. Apparently other doctors before and an Administrative Judge, thought so or I wouldn't be on disability! My response was I average 3-4seizures monthly on a full regimen of medications that cause me to barely function and only stay awake for 4-6hrs at a time and if I'm having 3-4 seizures monthly, it causes me to miss 6-8 or more days of work monthly, if I were working. What job will allow that? He then stated my primary doctor had to complete it regarding my chronic pain. He said that's what makes me disabled. This makes no sense! All he had to do was do his job and fill out the paperwork according to my health conditions but instead all he did was say since you're still have multiple seizures I will increase your dosage of medication. I've had seizures all my life and have been on several different medications and dosages and none of them have stopped my seizures completely or I would've never been granted disability benefits, and if I'm barely staying awake now in 4-6hour intervals, I'm sure raising the dosage will cause me to be more drowsy and less functional. I don't understand how doctors get paid for asking a few questions and passing out prescriptions like crazy, when it's actually hurting more than helping. Went here last night for a overnight sleep study. As I entered there was trash all over the lobby and looked very dirty. The nurse was friendly and led me to the room and gave me paperwork to fill out. The room was filthy,dust everywhere and what looked like leftover glue from the previous appointment on the night stand. I felt the wires the put on your body to monitor sleep and they were caked in the glue they use. I assume this was from many previous patients and they hadn't been cleaned. I was so digested there is no way I could sleep here. I just got up and left. read more

No no no! The staff is impossible to reach and doctor is rude. When the staff finally calls back they have no idea what common sense is.

I was waiting for a sleep test for about 3 months, When i finally got my sleep test my lights turned on at 3 in the morning which was about 2 hours before it was supposed to be completed. instead of having me try on the machine they mad me make another appointment for another 3 months later and when that date came they canceled on me because the doctor was sick. They gave me a choice to be on the waitlist "OR" to make an appointment. They would not do both, the lady that i spoke to on the phone was completely rude to me and ended up hanging up on me while i was talking. I would highly not recommend this place and I am so happy that i let my doctors office know of my experience dealing with these office staff. read more

Absolutely the worst physician's office I have ever dealt with, hands down. Trying to schedule an EMG was a nightmare; 8 voicemails were never returned. After faxing an EMG referral from my neurosurgeon, they claimed never to have received the fax in spite of my having a "fax confirmation". After emailing the same information, nobody bothered to contact me. STAY AWAY from this practice. And I am a retired physician! The way I was treated is outrageous. I cannot imagine how an "ordinary person" might be treated. I cannot comment on Dr. Hajjar specifically, but his office staff is totally unprofessional. read more

Neurology and sleep and Dr. Diana Londono are arguably the worst care in the desert area! I wish I had read the poor reviews on this place before I signed on. I'm hoping my review will save someone their time, money and sanity. Twice, I was given an appointment on the pretense I was receiving my Botox injections. When I arrived I was told Botox hadn't been ordered yet. The second time, I was told there had been an insurance snafu. I was charged for both visits. When Botox was delivered, it took a week of frantic phone calls to get someone to set up an appointment. You see, no one answers the phone or returns messages. It can take days for them to call you back. When I finally went in for treatment, Londono told me I need to find another Dr. She didn't appreciate my complaints to her assistant(?). I tried to explain my position, but she was so angry that her hands shook as she gave me the injections. It was a very unpleasant visit. A few days later, she gave me a referral to some Dr. in Desert Hot Springs. Seriously, Desert Hot Springs! Of all the great Drs. in the area, I get stuck with this wing nut. Steer clear. read more

I was first diagnosed with sleep apnea in 2016 and up until last October had few issues with maintaining the supplies needed to remain healthy. I unfortunately saw Mr. Elihajjar after the recall of my Phillips machine to get retested and be prescribed a new machine, supplies, etc. I say unfortunately because since my diagnosis with the center in La Quinta Mr. Elihajjar has done nothing to ensure my health since being diagnosed. I have received only one nasal cushion, three filters and 1 tubing, that's it, since October 2021. I called numerous times, made office appointments and Mr. Elihajjars response has been nothing. He seems to be irritated to help his patients, gets angry and frustrated when asked questions about ongoing concerns and most importantly about maintaining, or even getting any supplies. When asked why I was not getting supplies cleared by my insurance he said it that was not his job. Although a prescription was needed from him. He also said during an appointment I was one of three thousand patients, and that his involvement to assure that the supplies needed to breathe safely were released and delivered were not his concern. Terrible. I received one nasal cushion and three filters since October 2021, and he simply said, rudely, it was not his problem. His nurse(s) did not even know what a nasal cushion was and although my insurance had cleared all the sleep apnea supplies needed, they were never given because of Mr. Elihajjars lack of care, duty. The supply company they work with, Express RX should not be in business as well, the worst customer service representatives, uncaring and unwilling to assist. RX said the center had to ok the release supplies, Mr. Elihajjar and nurse(s) at the center said RX needed to give supplies, by observation, seems they may be in cahoots to not provide supplies cleared by insurance for patient(s)?? Now with a proper Sleep Doctor that treats patients after diagnosis and knows that supplies needed to be healthy are provided in a timely manner is most important, has been assuring. I would absolutely never recommend or allow any of my family or friends to be seen or do business with this facility or Express RX. Terrible. Less than 1 star. read more
