Just checked out of this hotel after coming to Disneyland for our kids (age 3 and 5) first trip there!! We drove from Northern California. This hotel is perfect for kids and being so close to Disney! It took us about 12 mins to walk to the park. On the same side of the street!! They have a wonderful, delicious free breakfast every morning with lots of good options, eggs, sausage, toast, muffins, waffles, yogurts, fruit, juices, coffee etc It's starts at 6:30am (goes til 10am) so plenty of time to eat and get to park for rope drop! The lobby is nice and big with a huge kids area with toys and movies playing, always fresh water and coffee when you come in. Many food options, a great little pool and hot tub ! The room was awesome! We got the one with a queen bed and bunk beds. The bunk beds are in their own little room with its own tv and a barn door. So it's nice for privacy! The kids absolutely loved it. Had a balcony with a view of the fireworks! The bathroom was big and spacious with a second sink and mirror outside as well so multiple people can get ready at the same time. Good storage space. Big rooms! You do have the pay extra nightly for parking but most hotels around the area you have to pay to park anyways. Overall we were super happy with this hotel, and we'll definitely be staying here any time we come back to Disneyland !!! Our kids were very sad to leave. They loved it too!! Desert Palms is mine and my Families go to when it comes to a nice stay for our Disneyland trips. The location is literally around the corner from the entrance making a quick maybe 10 minute walk to the park from the hotel. They serve a nice breakfast buffet starting at 630am included in your room cost( not going to lie some.of the best salsa I had). The pool is small but nice enough and they've now added Tesla chargers in their parking garage. Location wise there's a CVS across the street and a 7 11 right next door. Staff is always amazing and helpful and for the area the price is perfect. read more

The hotel slept 6. We had the kitchen room, it was stocked well enough for our needs. The staff was friendly and they had a decent free breakfast and the staff up there was really great. The pool is small but most people are at Disneyland so when we went it was not to bad. The room was clean and the beds are comfortable, except for the pull out bed. Be careful if you use the wash machine. It charged me 10 times and it through a 3rd party vendor and the hotel is not responsible. read more

This hotel is a gem! We came to Disneyland for my daughter's 12th birthday on 9/19/25 - 9/21/25. It's a short walk to the Disney parks with 7 Eleven next door, which is super convenient. Checking in was quick and self parking downstairs was easy to do. The lobby has a restaurant inside to one side with a variety of cuisine options, sitting areas, a movie knook with chairs, a small convenience store, a small business center, a luggage holding room, a gym and a pool before heading to the rooms. Also bathrooms that need your room key to access. We were on the 3rd floor. When we walked into our room we immediately saw a small vanity, hooks on the wall for jackets and a king sized bed. There was also a closet with an iron and ironing board available. The room is split into two areas. The big bed then another sleeping area split by a hanging barn style door. This room is perfect because the other side had a solid full sized bunk bed and my two girls love bunk beds. There's a small balcony and we were able to see the Disney fireworks from the balcony at night, which was a nice surprise! Another good, but small detail was having 3 separate trash cans throughout the room. The fridge is big and the microwave was a good addition. There's plenty of outlets for our electronics and enough room to move around and not feel squished. The bathroom areas appeared modern. The hanging pictures were framed nicely. The only zonk is that there was no hand soap to use when washing your hands, we had to use the body wash that was by the sinks. Overall, this room is fantastic! We paid just under $514 for 2 nights. Another great trip and great stay here. Our room was in pristine condition when we arrived. The staff throughout our trip was always Ute, friendly, and accommodating. Their complimentary breakfast buffet is always a major plus to get a quick bite in before Disney. They also have the ABSOLUTELY BEST salsa!!! Who would have thunk it ;-). Tomatoes, cilantro, onions, and a heat that builds quick (assuming jalapeño, but based on heat could be other pepper too). Sooooo if you aren't a fan of heat, try a small bit first haha. They have a cute lobby area with a kids movie area with books and a few toys. I like taking my son out there for at hotel meals. They also ha e a lobby infused water and tea/coffee area. They also have a small pool and jacuzzi. To top it all off, they have a single food spot Oasis that offers all sorts of foods - burgers, Mexican, salads, chicken, vegan, and more. This is a really nice hotel to stay at if you're going to Disneyland. We are a family of 4 and the split room with bunkbeds worked so well for us. - There was plenty of space to even fit more people! - Bed was comfy - AC worked very well - Shower was easy to use - Breakfast buffet was conveniently located and plenty of options - We had a public restroom on our floor (5th). Really enjoyed our stay at the this hotel! We arrived early Saturday morning to conquer our day at Disneyland. We were told if we found parking we could park there before our check in time and we were lucky. We had a really nice young man help us named Alex. He was very welcoming and helpful. We didn't check in till after the park closed. I was worried bc we were checking in late but he assured us that checking in that late was not a problem. Accommodated our early check in. It was very clean and we were impressed with the breakfast. The ice water and coffee station was much appreciated at the end of a walk back from Disneyland. Went on a family trip to disney; 3 adults 3 kids. The room was ok there were 2 beds plus a separate room with a pull out bed with an extra tv. Stopped in for a quick Disneyland trip and stayed at Desert Palms Hotel & Suites. Q checked us in and was great -- friendly, fast, and welcoming. We were also pleasantly surprised with a complimentary upgrade to a suite. The hotel is a bit older, but our room was clean, spacious, and very quiet. Breakfast was okay... not horrible, just not Embassy Suites level. We skipped it on our second morning, but it's a nice option to have, especially if you're traveling with kids. The best part? You can walk to Disneyland and California Adventure in about 10 minutes. Hard to beat that convenience. Overall, a simple, comfortable stay that worked perfectly for our park day. read more

We had the best stay at Desert Palms Hotel and Suites! My husband and I reserved a bunkbed suite so that we had a separate room for our toddler's pack n play. The main room had a kind bed, microwave and refrigerator with access to the bathroom. The main reason I chose this hotel was because it was one of the only hotels I could find within walking distance to Disneyland that offered a suite with a second bedroom behind the main bedroom. This allowed us to put the toddler to bed, and then my husband or I could come and go from the room. The room itself was very clean. The main room with the kind bed is a little small, but it was not a big deal as we basically only were there to sleep. The complimentary breakfast was really good, lots of options including eggs, waffles, and protein. The hotel also had a kid area in the lobby, which was great to let our son play in during some down time we had. The walk to Disneyland security on Harbor was about 10 minutes. It felt a little longer on the way back lol but definitely still doable! Overall the hotel was great, and we will be back for more family Disneyland trips. read more

Not sure what all these bad reviews are about. We've stayed at dozens of other good neighbor hotels around Disneyland & this is by far our favorite one. Parking: We were lucky to find a great parking spot, but I can see how limited parking could be an issue. We knew from the website the price for parking and the policy about needing to move your car after noon on the day of check out and the rule of one car per room. It was all on the website & is also very common with hotels in this area. Fitness center: I knew it wouldn't be much. They don't have the cable machine anymore. It's just cardio, a bench and some random dumbbells which was fine and expected. A nice cool temperature in there. Scan your room key but it won't beep, you can just open the door after scanning. The room: the closet is a huge walk in closet. Spacious room and bathroom. Beds are comfy enough, but I do wish it had a comforter. We got a room on the street & it's true that there's a lot of traffic noise, but that didn't bother us. The shutters blocked out the light just fine for us. For us, the shower made this our favorite hotel. It was finally tall enough for my 6'2 husband and for us, the water pressure was insanely great. Not sure if other rooms are different or why reviews complain about the water pressure. Loved the body wash. We loved having a fridge and microwave in the room too. Room service: you can order such an assortment of foods. Free delivery and the front desk girl gave us a code for 10% off. Prices range $17-$25ish but it's not any cheaper if you go downstairs and order at the kiosk for takeout. The food was good. They knocked and left it at the door & we appreciated that over them waiting and handing it to us. We also did takeout downstairs another night and they were friendly & very quick (both times). Breakfast: I'm very confused on the complaints about the free breakfast. They had everything I could want and the food was very tasty. Great views too & also an outdoor patio. Distance to Disneyland: Amazing. You never have to cross any major streets. Quick walk.. less than 15 minutes. Also close to a CVS and I believe a Walgreens too. Other: friendly front desk. Coffee in the lobby at all times with flavored creamer. The pool and hot tub looked really great and I wished I had brought my swimsuit. One elevator was out of order the elevators were slow and weird but they worked fine. Signage to get to breakfast was good. This is the worse hotel ever. I had my three kids that were sitting in the lobby tired from walking and the night manager named Daniel was so rude and mean to my kids saying "you can't sleep here". I told him that we were sitting here waiting for my husband since he was parking the car. He said he didn't care and ruined the night. Don't ever stay here unless you want to get treated bad bay Daniel. His manager should coach him and teach him about customer service. If I could give zero stars, I would. My sister booked two rooms through Expedia for herself, her husband, me, and my friend. She added me as an authorized user, but the reservation was in her name. When I went to check in, Daniel at the front desk (who LIED and claimed to be the manager but is actually just the night auditor) refused to let me check in because I only had a picture of my ID instead of the physical copy. That part I understood, so I waited for my sister to arrive so she could check in herself since the reservation was under her name. Once she arrived--with her ID, her confirmation, and everything in order--Daniel STILL gave us trouble, claiming she couldn't access the room because I was listed as an "authorized user." He rudely told us we had to go back through Expedia to change the names, which made no sense because the reservation was hers in the first place. And here's the worst part: being the night auditor, Daniel already knew exactly what he could and couldn't do. He knew my sister checking in with her own ID was completely fine, but instead he chose to lie, act like he couldn't help, and waste our time. Then, after about 10 minutes of us scrambling, he suddenly flipped and said "well maybe there's something I can do"--only to end up doing exactly what we asked in the first place. It was obvious he was just being difficult and rude for no reason. On top of that, we never received a parking pass for our car, he failed to activate my sister's room key properly, and his overall attitude was unprofessional, condescending, and dishonest. The way Daniel handled the situation made us feel completely unwelcome from start to finish. Overall, this was a terrible experience. I do not recommend staying here. Save yourself the frustration and book somewhere that treats guests with honesty, respect, and professionalism. PS: the beds are extremely hard. The close proximity of this hotel to the Disneyland Parks makes it 100% worth the stay! We were able to walk to and from the parks daily in under 10 minutes, Which made nap time for toddler nephew a piece of cake! The hotel is a bit older and they had several roof leaks due to rain around the hotel. This didn't affect our room or stay but it was something we noticed. The parking situation can also be a little tricky because the lot is so small that we had to circle around for a bit before a spot was available. Breakfast was great and they provided lots of options daily. Hotel cleanliness was spectacular. And the cherry on top for me was that the showers had excellent water pressure! read more

We just checked in along with five other families. We did special request that we are next to each other as we all have the same type of room. So instead of our room being available at three, it was pushed back to 4 o'clock. We showed up at one and inquired if it was ready early. We were told it was not which is totally fine. They asked us to check back in at 1:30. Everybody in our party did that we were rudely told by a Young front desk clerk named Michael, not to come back until three, which is check-in time. We very much were aware of the check in time which is why when we approached them for room was ready. We did say would it be available for early check-in. Michael rude to every single person in our party which is one of us or at least the adults as the children didn't seem too worried. His rudeness actually made one of the grandmothers so upset that she cried. We have frequent in this hotel, many times and got the rest of our party to join because we said how great Customer Service was. I don't know what that happens since we were here last nine months ago, but we are all appalled at the current level of Customer Service from Michael. We are currently checking other hotels to see if we can change our reservation. Something needs to change, as this isn't exactly acceptable. read more

We have been staying here for the past few years on our Disneyland trips. It's nothing special if even abit old and basic but the larger rooms and price work for us. However. This last trip was a disaster. From the start, upon checking in, there were problems with the rooms we were told we had. We had three rooms and they had confirmed multiple times (including morning of) that they were on same floor and as close as possible. The first associate, upon check in, told us we were essentially dishonest about being told this and they never do this. They also told us there is no manager we can speak to. Luckily, the associate that had told us that morning we had the rooms showed up and said she did have them set aside for us. The first associate was so rude and condescending. The next day, my two year old happily went up to the window to look into the pool when we got back into the hotel. He had done the same thing the day before. When he moved away we noticed he had paint all over him. Only then did we see and employee with an open paint bucket down the hall and when we showed him my sons clothes covered in paint, he pointed at a "wet paint" sign around the corner and across the hall!!! There's no way we would have seen it from where we were or even from where the paint was. You had to turn the corner and look across the hall! He didn't care at all about my sons clothes. Only then, did he put up a wet paint sign on the window to the pool. They had only one working elevator for 5 floors. It took almost 30 min for my whole group to get up or down with strollers. read more

So close to Disneyland is always a plus. The parking was okay but we found some. Apparently people try to bring multiple cars which is not allowed. Those who are staying need a card to enter the lobby after a certain time and into their gift shop area. The room was so beautiful and simple. A clean bathroom, bedroom, and no bugs are what I look for in a hotel. The room smelled freshly cleaned. Breakfast is provided in the morning but make sure to get there early because the waffle machine is the highlight. Even with so many machines it was difficult to get to get a waffle quickly. read more

Our family stayed here over Christmas week (along with some friends of ours who also were staying at the hotel). It was a good home base for visiting Disneyland. The rooms are clearly setup for families -- our kids had a bunk bed in their own room, and my partner and I enjoyed a comfortable bed in the front room. The hotel has a nice open lobby. Staff were friendly. You can walk from here to Disneyland easily. We even came home one day and ordered doordash for lunch, and then went back to the park. We took an uber from LAX (that's the way to go!), but upon departing the hotel we wanted to rent a car to go elsewhere in California. I was able to just rent a car from the Hertz which is down the road (walking distance). Breakfast was fine -- about what you'd expect from a budget family hotel. Lots of options, a bit of pandemonium, etc. But I appreciated that there was a nice large outdoor seating area on the roof adjacent to the breakfast serving area, which seemed like much less of a madhouse (and, of course... this is California... sitting outside at breakfast was quite comfortable!). read more

Room was a nice size with the walk down living room. Cons: Beds were rough, noisey, thin blankets. Parking was okay, $34+ parking fee, you only have till NOON day of check out by the way. Hotel was just muggy and warm in the hallways. One elevator was down so trying to fit or wait was a challenge. Laundry was $4 a load. Hair dryer was HOT and barely blew air. read more

This is a great location for a hotel if you're going to be going to Disneyland. The homeless population does gather very close to this area (no fault of the hotel, but still it can be a problem) so be prepared to be asked for money on your walk to the park. We did have some issues with our television but they sent up someone within 30 minutes each time. The room was clean and had a cute little towel animal on the bed. My kids enjoyed their small pool. They also have free breakfast. My kids loved the waffles. I do low carb and wished they'd have just plain half and half for the coffee but all of their creamers were sweetened. I have mixed feeling, as love the conviene of getting close to convention center and walking distance. but the internet was not GOOD at all. As business women" we never know when to stop and work while at the hotel. Enjoyed the water and coffee machine in the lobby. We got the room closest to the street so it was a little noisy, the shower could be upgraded to more water pressure , another trash can as the set up of room was odd. We liked the products as I can be very delicate with fragrances. We didn't have to ask for towels , well stocked and cleaned. If you're staying here to go Disneyland on the day you check out, don't stay here! We booked one night so we could walk to Disneyland in the morning with our two little ones and avoid the Disney parking lot/shuttle. When we checked in, the front desk said we would need to move our car by noon unless we called in the morning to request a parking extension. We called at 6:45am and they said they would not extend! So we paid $28 to not be able to park at the hotel for even 24 hours? You'd tow a paying hotel guest? Why would we be done at Disneyland at noon?! My husband dropped us off and had to park at Disneyland parking and deal with shuttle and he missed the first hour in the park plus we had to risk all of our belongings in the car at Disneyland. This is my go to hotel to stay at when we go to Disney but this time it seams like this hotel is lacking in decor and is starting to look very rundown. The tile in our bathroom kept popping back into place when we would walk on it. The bedding felt l very scratchy. The front desk people seam like that they didn't want to be there. The hallway from our room to the elevator was extremely hot and no good ventilation. We need some water around 230 in the AM and didn't feel comfortable going to 7-11 due to the number of people asking for money, so I went to the gift shop and for two waters it came up to $16.00. Went to Disneyland 6/5/2022 and needed to get a room for two nights , so when I came across a deal for the desert palms hotel and suites (two nights total with tax $337) we thought we would give it a try. I was so pleasantly surprised by this place . The walk to Disneyland isn't bad at all it's about 10 minutes maybe 12 at the max but there is one light you have to cross at that can be a bit of a wait if you don't hit it just right. I originally reserved a deluxe two queen room but once we got there and in the room they had given us the bigger suite room that had two queen beds and a pull out couch bed . Now the room is pretty big (463 sq foot) but the area were the couch is , if you pull the bed out it would be hard for two adults if one needed to use the bathroom at night to get around the bed . Definitely would put at least one person done there, plus the pull out is pretty low to the ground with a thin mattress/mat . But overall I loved the fact that it had a table for 4 and had separate areas ( which there is a curtain that can separate the rooms) which is nice if you need a little one that has to take a nap and the others want to watch tv . The rooms do have carpet but overall everything was really clean ! Parking for this hotel is $22 a night plus tax, we paid $51.48 for two nights of parking Free breakfast!!! Kind of excited about that , we normally stay at a place that doesn't have that and I have to bring everything! I know covid has changed a lot of the hotels free breakfast but you can tell this one is still slowly coming back but not as much as it used to be but honestly we are aren't that picky. This breakfast one morning had donuts, egg fold with cheese, sausage patty, a variety of cereal , cottage cheese, yogurt, sliced oranges, fruit cocktail,milk, coffee, juice (orange, apple, cranberry), waffle station ( they had at least three or more irons), toast and English muffins. The next day for hot food they had scrambled eggs with sausage chunks, biscuits, gravy and this time muffins. It was edible . Breakfast is served from 6:30am-10 am and is located on the 5th floor, plus the had really nice outdoor seating with a great view. First impressions of this hotel was the lobby was nice and really big from others I've seen. They had a little room office to the side of check in that had two computers and printers for guests to use. They also have a place called the oasis kitchen and bar that had indoor and outdoor seating. It was kind of cool it's different food from different places you can order from ranging from burgers to Mediterranean food . There is a QR code in you room and you can order to your room or just pop done stairs to pick it up. I did like the fact the lobby locks the door after 10pm and you need your key to get in . They also have a store in the lobby that's small but has all kinds of drinks, food and items we forget lol. No prices were on things but what was cool is you use your key to get into the store and then you can download an app or go to a pad and scan everything and just pay for it . So anytime you need something it's quick and easy. We didn't use the pool this trip, but you can see it right off the lobby it's in the middle of the building. Which is kind of cool cause then there really is not sun straight on the pool . It isn't every big , yet still decent and they do have a hot tub. They also offer three gender neutral bathrooms right by the pool so if you need to change or use the bathroom it's close. Since this was a quick trip we didn't use the gym either, but from what I saw it's not very big but adequate. It's located in the lobby area Also to add is about noise, now one I am not picky about this. I have kids but I make sure they are respectful of others . Yet, this was the first hotel that was an open to the outdoors or just only having a few rooms by each other. Back before this disaster of quarantine started, I had the privilege of going to Disneyland to celebrate another trip around the sun. I had such a great experience the other two times that I stayed here that I decided to book again for the third time. This review is for the most recent stay in February of 2020. I booked ahead of time knowing I would be taking my disabled mother so I requested in the notes/additional that I would appreciate a room on the bottom floor since she can't walk long distances. Not only did they give us a room on the first floor but they completely upgraded us to a two bedroom suite at no extra charge. It was a complete surprise walking into our room and a great birthday gift from the Lord. Our stay was enjoyable and beds were super cozy. The breakfast buffet is okay but nothing to look forward to. It had tons of offerings but none of us are breakfast people especially super early, so we opted for coffee and toast. It gets packed early so you might want to pass if you're running late. All in all I would definitely stay here again. Especially because it's so close to the Disneyland Resort. It's only about a 10 minute walk to the front gate saving you money on parking. read more

Fine motel for Disneyland stay. Has the amenities we need. Rooms are good. The walk to the park is a bit farther but not bad. Appreciate the variety of food, especially for kids. My kiddo loved the small pool. read more
