A few weeks ago was the first time I had been to this salon after hearing about one of their fab stylists Tiffany Kirton through one of our FB mommy groups. I scheduled an appointment with Tiffany and was very pleased with how she took the time to understand exactly what I was looking for and the color choices. She educated me about the pros and cons of each color and how it would suit my lifestyle( busy mom in nursing school) because of its low maintenance. Larrabie is fantastic... super nice and listened to what I wanted. I have 2 little ones and finding someone to watch them while I get my hair done was way more challenging than it should be; I came in stressed out and crunched for time to pick them up from my sitter. Larrabie put me at ease, did a great job on my trim ( about 4 inches off because I neglected my hair, now it's down to my armpits instead of my elbows). Do not go there and ask for Kim! She's rude and unprofessional and out of place the way she spoke to someone I sent in. The customer was new and willing to pay what was needed to do her highlights. Instead she just put her down, telling her horrible things about her hair that weren't true. An if they were the customer was willing to pay an have it done right. It bad enough when you leave mad or disappointed but when you leave the customer is crying and made to feel less than, that is not right as a person much less as a business professional. read more

NIce salon, but expensive, frequently can't run on a schedule. Im tired of setting appotiments, and waiting. Im tired of waiting while my stylist works on other clients during MY scheduled appointments, while I wait and am ready for my next step. Have had some bad formal hairstyle results. Appts. are always close to twice the time allotted. If I schedule an appointment for a specific hair service, I expect to get that service, NO MATTER WHAT. Not usually the case here. If things don't go well, you might not get everything done you were expecting. Oh well..too bad. read more

I have gone to the same stylist, Misti, for about 5 years because she is awesome at doing my hair. I even followed her from her previous salon to this one, and I am happy she moved. It's modern inside, I love the chaise style lounge couches you lay on when getting your hair washed, they make me feel luxurious. :) It's a friendly atmosphere, and they offer you drinks when you are waiting for your hair to process. I have a cousin who goes to another stylist here, Jenna, and she is awesome as well. I have never seen either of these ladies give a bad haircut! There was a time recently when I asked for her to put me at a more natural blond color, but for some reason it didn't turn out the way I had hoped. (first time in 5 years I didn't like something...) so I expressed my dismay, and Misti willingly changed it for me, right then and there to a dark, lovely red color. (I was her last appointment and she must have wanted to go home so badly, but she hung in there like a champ). She emphasized that she wanted me to walk out happy, and I did. I usually end up getting a haircut, highlights or a dye job with a blowout, and with tip end up spending approx. $100.00, which seems to be the norm if you want a nice haircut. They do eyebrow waxing, nail, and facials as well. Great place! read more

Came here a few weeks ago for a simple cut and style with Tiffany. I'm new to CA so I've had to start all over with finding everything and I was SO happy I found Tiffany. She did a GREAT job. She listened to EXACTLY what I wanted. While the stylists generally always do a good job I find the true test is after I've washed and dried my own hair. I love that my hair is full of volume and that she listened to what I wanted. At least I can check hair stylist off my list of things/people to find! read more

I've been coming to this salon for over 20 years. I love this place not only for the superb talent but because I just referred one of the stylists, Robin to a friend of mine and she was so thrilled to have made a great connection that it made me feel so good to know how happy she was. Over the years I've personally had different things done from color weaves, to permanent straightening to now going naturally gray. To have a stylist who can tell me "it's time for a glaze" or "now we're doing the deep conditioner" or questions me on my spur of the moment request for bangs...we have a dialogue, we analyze my lifestyle and we proceed. I have been getting my hair by Jenna Hughes for about 8 years, she is amazing. I travel all the way to Upland from Big Bear just to have Jenna do my hair. I would travel almost anywhere to stick with her. She has never once let me down.She even did my hair on my wedding and my bridal party. She is professional, extremely talented and friendly. I visited this salon with a deal from Living Social for eyelash extensions with Nicole Lawrence. Nicole did the worst job at eyelash extensions ever! I can't believe that a "high end" salon like Desert Rose would employ someone who uses such crappy material! The eyelashes used could have been bought at Walmart (they were the hard, plastic-like cluster lashes). The packaging looked just like what Walmart sells. The tape used was painter's tape (the blue masking tape stuff). Nicole kept saying that the product used was safe and "better," but after leaving my appointment, my eyes were irritated from the glue and the eyelashes. I ended up having to get my new lashes removed elsewhere. I would NOT recommend Nicole or her services. Get your lashes done by someone who knows what they're doing and uses quality materials! read more

I bought a deal from Amazon for Microdermabrasion and hour-long custom facial with Heidi Corral. I'd never heard of Desert Rose, but they had decent reviews and I was desperate to find someone who could help with the out-of-control acne-breakout on my face (mainly my chin). Heidi was just that person... :-). She gave me an AMAZING facial, and explained what was going on with my skin, and what was causing the breakout. She seems to really know her stuff, more than any other esthetician I've gone to before. After my facial, my face looked the way your face normally does after a facial- red spots from extractions, really fresh, clean, and soft. It's been about three weeks or so, and my chin looks better now than it has in the last month. :) I am definitely going to return for another facial with Heidi! Plus, she also gives a short hand and foot massage while masks are applied....wonderful! :) read more

This place is filled with a lot of hairstylists that rent stations. i had my hair cut by misty and it wasn't what i was expecting or wanted, i would not recommend her. I had to wait 20+ minutes for my haircut and I'm sorry but thats crazy! If i make it a point to be on time ( early for that matter) then I expect the same common courtesy, especially in this customer service heavy industry. She seems like a great and nice person however didn't do the job i was hoping for, my hair isn't cut the way i wanted and I'm not satisfied. Also when she was straightening my hair her hair straightener wasn't working properly and my hair kept getting snagged on her straightener that had cracked plates, it was so painful! She could tell by the look on my face that it wasn't pleasant so she stated how she knows that she needs to get a new one, yet made no attempt to either borrow someone else's or use a blow dryer and round brush, and so my hair ended up being so poofy and not straight because in fact the heat wasn't even working on that straightener...I left looking like a fool and had to straighten my hair myself at home. What a waste. Thus continues my search for a good hairstylist. the salon in itself was pretty and nicely set up. the receptionist was helpful and offered me water or tea. so i appreciate that fact at least. read more

She did my hair for my wedding, fixed a very bad short haircut when I went to someone who promised me they knew how to cut curly hair, and has won my loyalty over the years. She does a great job with coloring, styling and haircuts, and works with you to make sure you leave happy. She's really down to earth, and doesn't make you feel like a you're a burden being in her chair. She makes just the right amount of conversation.
