Do not book with AMG. I became seriously ill from mold exposure in one of their properties -- and…read morethe way they handled it was negligent, dishonest, and downright disgraceful. I booked a 6-week stay at 2545 S Gene Autry Trail Unit E. Shortly after arriving, I became severely sick. It was a type of illness I recognized from previous mold exposure, but significantly worse. My doctor urged me to have the home tested -- the results showed the property was hazardous and unfit for occupancy due to toxic mold. I had to leave immediately for my health and safety. I informed management, who acknowledged the situation and assured me they would collect and safely store the four packages I had ordered before leaving. That was over a month ago. Since then, I've dealt with 39 back-and-forth emails and two long drives -- totaling four hours -- based on false assurances that the packages had been retrieved and were ready for pickup. I was repeatedly told they were "secured at the office," only to arrive and be told they were somewhere else -- once in "Building B," once supposedly "in the mailbox," and eventually that they'd been mailed back to the sender. Why was I lied to so many times? To cover up carelessness, laziness, and complete incompetence. At no point did AMG take responsibility for their disorganization or their failure to follow through on basic communication. I made it extremely clear I was driving a long distance to retrieve these packages. They wasted my time, lied repeatedly, and left me empty-handed. Worse, they have never removed the mold-infested property from their website and are still actively listing it for new guests. When I briefly returned to retrieve my items, the house had dead bugs in the entryway. It was clearly uninhabitable, but they continue to rent it out anyway. My main contact was Julia Charbonneau, and I also corresponded with Brianna Collingwood. Neither showed a basic level of competence or care. This company is careless, dishonest, and dangerously unprofessional. If you value your health -- or even just your time -- stay far away. There are plenty of better-run rental platforms in the desert, including Airbnb and Furnished Finder.

The owner insisted it be paid in CASH and we sent him a bank draft as we are in Canada, for $4800 US - that in itself should have alerted us to a problem! We knew that it was non-refundable under the specific rental conditions. A week before we were due to be in the unit, my husband had a medical emergency (ended up in ER) and was told by our doctor not to travel. The owner said that if he was able to rent the same unit for any amount of time during the one month that we had booked it for, he would refund us that amount. Great. No problem. He said he would list it again. He never did! Then he put another renter (who asked to be moved closer to a pool because their unit wasn't as well located, and thereby making the unit that we had rented now "unavailable." So now he was making it harder to rent any other unit other than the one our contract was for. Instead of showing any kind of compassion or "doing the right thing," he has continually said that he will not refund us any portion of our paid amount. In our numerous email exchanges (where I have been nothing but polite and to the point), he chose to swear and use derogatory language. What kind of business owner does that?? We would have even been happy with half our rental money returned, but no, he is keeping the entire amount for himself even though the unit we rented had actually been "rented." We filed a complaint with the BBB, and are still in that process. We have seriously considered taking this man to small claims court, but that would be another added expense for me to fly down from British Columbia, stay in a hotel, all the while having my husband not being able to fly and still ill. As it is, we have lost $4800 already (apparently he is returning our $500 security deposit, but after over a month, that has not yet been returned!). I hope no one else ever rents with this company as you are taking a huge risk with your money!

We had one toilet that leaked waste water from the base. This appeared to be a long term problem as the baseboard was warped and deteriorating. This was a disgusting issue. Many other issues were found in the bathroom plumbing. All of the outdoor furniture is worn and ragged. The bedding was extremely worn. The TV's in the bedrooms would not function without a great deal of effort. There is clutter everywhere. Parts of the garage were not usable as there were piles of junk blocking full use of the parking. Below the grill is an awful accumulation of trash and dirt. I provided the owner photos of these issues but he questioned my concern. The entire property needs an overhaul and deep cleaning. It is certainly not in a condition to warrant the current pricing!

The pool is nice however they don't tell you anywhere on the map that their showers are locked…read moreafter 10 PM. I've never been to an RV park where you don't have access a shower on site. Should anything happen to your RV like ours did and needed to be serviced and we did not have to have access to our RV shower. The groundskeeper said he even looked at the map and agreed that it was listed nowhere on the e map that the showers close at 10 PM all that it says is the fitness center closes at 10, but that's not the same as a shower. I was not going to work out. I was going to shower. The two showers are located attached to the pool and I get that they want to close the pool off past 10 PM, but maybe they should build a separate shower for patrons separate from the pools so that if they need access and take showers after 10 o'clock that we have the option too. Also, there's no air conditioning in the bathrooms by the tennis courts. That was the only bathroom that's open 24 hours without a shower. There are bugs all over in the sink and the bathroom was 112° inside (at 10:30 at night) They should probably walk around the property as the ceilings are falling apart hopefully there's no mold in here that we are breathing. This is in the state of the Art workout facility with the ceiling about two pieces fall down. The only reason I gave two stars instead of one was because the pool was nice that's it. However, the pool was closed due to pool cleaning on our first night here.

We did make a mistake by hiring what we thought was a company that would take care of our new house the way we did. Since we are on a fixed income, one must be creative financially to get ahead. We soon found out that this decision was a big mistake in judgment. Things started to go south from the beginning. A few days before the renters arrived, heavy rains clogged the drains, creating floods in sensitive areas around the house. I came to clear the drains, and I was told I was not welcome there now or anytime during the rental period. There was no explanation, just told in a scolding tone that made me feel that this was no longer my home. We made it clear there were not supposed to be any pets staying at the house. We later discovered three dogs in the house: two Medium-sized dogs and one great Dane. In the contract, we agreed that the two renters, a husband and a wife, would stay at the house. Again, we later found out that, at times, as many as eight people stayed overnight. Mr. Dan Phelan, the President and Founder of Greenday, wrote in writing that he would be 100% responsible for any and all damages that occurred during the rental, so we thought we were covered. When it came time for us to move back in, we found the following problems. A separation in the outside weather screen that blocked the sun and sand from coming in. We later discovered that the company who installed the screen had realized that the separation would only get larger and could not be fixed. It needed to be replaced. The outside cabinet that houses our dishware and silverware had a broken door that needed to be replaced. The hot tub that we were told needed to be drained and cleaned before renters arrived so it would be fresh and clean for them was left over chlorinated, mucky, and dirty. I wrote an email to Mr. Phelan, President and founder of Greenday, and we set up a phone consult about what I thought was an opportunity for us to rectify all the damages he promised to take care of. Instead, it was twenty minutes of him berating me and saying that he had no intention of taking care of any of the problems now that the renters were gone. To add insult to injury, he then told me that if I did not concede to take care of all the damages myself at my own expense while resolving them of everything, he would hold back the last payment for the Month of April. Mind you, Greenday received the entire rental fee from the renters months before they moved in. We took them to court to recoup last month's rental fee and any reimbursement for out-of-pocket expenses. We were awarded the final payment and court costs. Being that going to court for both of us was foreign, It turned out to be a he said, and we said, so the court ruled accordingly. The court did order Greenday to pay us for last month's rent and court fees. Also, the record should be set straight without mentioning names. The two women, who were elderly friends from Chicago, came to the desert in the winter to play cards and stay warm from the severe Chicago Winter. One was a retired schoolteacher. My wife met them while playing cards, and they told her they had a very unpleasant experience with Greenday. I'll leave it at that. Without singling them out, I would gladly give names privately to Greenday to refresh their selective memory. As Paul Harvy would end each broadcast, "And now you know the rest of the story."
