The rear antenna on my Mercedes SUV was broken off and needed to be replaced. I went to I-10 Collision for an estimate and they said they can fix it for $2250. I thought that was rather high and they were creating work that didn't need to be done. I then went over to Bob's body repair for an estimate. Keenen was very knowledgeable on what i needed fixed. He showed me what parts had to be ordered and said that he could fix it in one day for $800! Wow , that's a $1400 savings over the first estimate, and I agreed to have him fix it. I brought the car in at 8 AM this morning, and picked it up completely repaired beautifully at 4:30 today. The staff was very professional, and very friendly. I was there. I am a retired, police officer, and feel real good when I find an honest business that does great work and does not cheat their customers. We have used Bob's Auto body a few times now with different family vehicles. I was originally referred to Bob's by the owner of a nearby upholstery shop. Each time has been consistent service and attention to detail. Their pricing is fair, they print the estimate out and explain all the little things so the customer understands the breakdown. I did a drive by the first time I went there, I wanted to view the entrance since they are located on Perez Rd. Their driveway is small, parking on the street is available. This body shop works on all makes and models of cars and trucks. Once I agreed & signed the contract they began ordering parts, even though I wasn't able to leave the car that day. I was T-boned at an intersection two years ago. My entire driver's side of the car was damaged. Since it was during Covid, Bob's Auto Body had a difficult time locating a driver's door since parts were difficult to find. Lo and behold, they found one in the same color and year as my car in Florida. They had it shipped, installed the door, and fixed the rest of the car and off I went. You would never know the car had been in an accident. Recently, the lock on the new door became lose and unusable. I called Bob's Auto Body, and they told me to bring the car in for repair at no charge. They fixed the lock immediately. In the past, I have used Bob's Auto Body Repair on other vehicles that were in minor accidents, and I've never been disappointed in their excellent service. What a shady operation! last week my dad took in the car for an estimate, and was told it would be $1000, and 2-3 days. I took the car in yesterday to drop it off for service and was told it needed a new door, and the estimate would now be $3500, and take five days. When I asked why my dad wasn't told that, Keenan said "they" missed it, he'd "only seen pictures" and it was the "first time he's actually seen it". Keenan called me later to tell me when he could get in the parts, and asked if I wanted to bring it in Monday. I said I'd call him back and when I did a minute later, he didn't even have the balls to pick up the phone. I'm sure if my dad had dropped off the car, it would've been for the original estimate, especially since KEENAN WAS THE ONE WHO GAVE IT TO HIM!!!! I still can't believe he flat out lied to me. Shane and Bobby and the whole team have been great to work with. Great communication with me and the assorted insurance companies paying the claims. Have a fairly new car, got a couple of mysterious dings (all the way down to the base metal /plastic) and scraped the black bumper. Brought car here, got estimate to repair/replace, which was more than I wanted to spend for such minor damage. (Not saying at all that the estimate was high, but just more than I wanted to spend on such minor damage, which they totally agreed with.) Bobby said if I got the paint from my car dealer, he would touch it up at no charge (better a professional does it than me, believe me). Anyway, he did so and even absolutely refused the couple of bucks I tried to give him. That is absolutely decent. Wish there were more people like that. (When I had picked up the touch up paint at the car dealer, they said they actually use Bob's for their work, so that made me feel even better.) I am posting this for a young family friend. He was in an accident and took his car to Bob's Auto Repair. Bobs Auto Body threatened to hold the car hostage in an attempt to charge $125.00 per day starting from the day it was dropped off on 4/16/20 (as directed by the insurance company) until we asked for and received a first invoice on 4/20/20. It was only after much dialog and us showing him the dcc.ca.gov web site that he would allowed us to remove the car from his business after paying for only the work done (500.00). Also, he reported to us that his computer system was down at 3:30 (closes at 4:00) and we must pay in cash. He would not take a credit card or allow us to pay through zelle. He did grant us until 4:30 to get the cash or he was going to charge $125.00 for an extra day because HIS system was down. He was paid $500.00 to do the estimate but was upset that our friend didn't want to have them do the work. My partner had to leave the house and withdrew the money and took it to him. My partner has an immune disorder and has not let the house. Ironically I was going to take my Mercedes in for some body work because because their ratings are so high. No chance that is happening now. Who knows how any customers are illegally charged $125.00 per day if the customer decides to get the vehicle fixed somewhere else. read more
