The lady behind the desk is the owner herself and the cook!We chit chatted with her she seemed very friendly and hardworking! She offered us to try the pakoras for free which was very generous of her!We ordered a butter chicken combo which comes with 3 samosas and a pop.The Samosas were potatoes filled and one the best I have had in the North America region and the butter chicken was quite average. The naan was not home made rather store bought and grilled at the store- I wasn't impressed! We also ordered Tandoori chicken which are sold by the piece each one was for two dollars. The chicken was juicy and very flavorful. I thoroughly enjoyed the chicken. As we were eating the lady/owner offered us some biryani to try and with that she offered us two small beef samosas both were a hit! We found her very generous and sweet! Overall Verdit! This place is a hidden gem for both potatoes and beef samosas and pakoras but on the other hand the food was average but I will have to give her a 4 star for her outstanding customer service she knows how to please customers. While we were there we saw lots of people doing carry out and placing catering orders! Will definitely go there again for samosas and pakoras!

However the taste of the samosas made us forget the wait. They give the Samosa with a sweet sour chutney which is even more yummy. I liked the veggies samosa over the chicken ones. We also took a lb of veggie pakora which were good. I am not sure but I guess pre- ordering and pick up here is a better option. $1 chicken samosa and $1 for 2 veg samosas

Prerna in particular took our order and I loved how she took care of us, gave us great suggestions on the food options and her hospitality was spot on. For those who suspect the music gets loud, it isn't that bad. The live music and the song choices make the dinner experience very worthy. I am coming back again. (1/5) I rarely leave…read morenegative reviews, but this experience was disappointing from start to finish, especially for a restaurant that positions itself as a premium dining destination. We arrived around 9:15 PM with our two young children (ages 2 and 6). What nobody informed us was that around 10 PM the restaurant transforms into a nightclub/disco, with music becoming so loud that it was genuinely uncomfortable and potentially harmful for a toddler's ears. Had someone simply mentioned this while seating us, we would have happily chosen another time or another place. That lack of communication alone was extremely disappointing. The décor is beautiful and the restaurant looks stunning. Unfortunately, that's where most of the positives end. Food Review: * Lotus Stem Kebab - Terrible. It was basically a regular kebab with a piece of lotus stem in the middle. Very uninspiring. 1/10 * Cream of Chicken Soup - Excellent. The kids absolutely loved it. 9/10 * Shroom Indulgence - Average. Just seasoned mushroom caps; nothing memorable. 5/10 * Palak Bocconcini - Easily one of the worst dishes I've had. It tasted like canned spinach and lacked freshness, flavour, and texture. 0/10 * Shahi Laal Maas - Served cold. The meat was tough, rubbery, and difficult to eat. It honestly felt like it had been sitting before being served. 1/10 * Missi Roti - Very good. * Green Chilli Laccha Paratha - Very good. * Roomali Roti - Excellent. * The Big Fat L.I.T Indian Wedding - Extremely watered down. I've had many Long Island Iced Teas, and this was among the weakest. 2/10 * The Paan Panther - Again, watered down and disappointing. 2/10 * Celestial Citrus - The best drink we ordered. Really enjoyable. * On the Cloud (Mango Lassi) - Nice presentation, but the lassi itself was slightly sour and below average. * Fresh Berry Tres Leches - Delicious and probably the highlight of the meal. The service was inconsistent. The staff who took our order were warm, polite, and welcoming. However, the staff delivering food were the complete opposite. When we politely asked if the music volume could be reduced because of our children, the response was shocking. One staff member told us, "We're all over Instagram. This is how it is. Didn't you know?" Since we could barely hear anything, we had to ask her to repeat herself multiple times. She then said something along the lines of, "That's the point--we don't want anyone to hear." The dismissive attitude, facial expressions, and arrogance were completely unnecessary and left a very poor impression. A restaurant can have great décor, but hospitality is what brings guests back. My ratings: * Food: 1/10 * Service: 3/10 * Ambience (before the nightclub music): 8/10 * Ambience (after 10 PM): 2/10 * Family-friendliness: 0/10 If you're planning to visit with young children, be aware that after 10 PM the atmosphere changes completely into a high-volume party venue. That may be enjoyable for some guests, but families deserve to be informed beforehand so they can make an informed decision. Unfortunately, what should have been a pleasant family dinner turned into one of the most disappointing restaurant experiences we've had. We won't be returning, and I cannot recommend it based on our experience.

I absolutely love this place. Normally, a place that has a massive menu is a bit concerning to me…read moreas it often leads to not really excelling at anything, but that is not the case here in my experience. The reason behind the large menu is related to the aim of the restaurant, which is to showcase the various regional cuisines of India. As a result, don't expect the straightforward menu of: apps, entrees, deserts, etc... rather the menu is divided by cuisine. Aside from honouring tradition, they do offer a couple 'new' takes on some items. If you comb through a few reviews, and certainly the pics, you'll notice a must-order items is the roasted eggplant with pomegranate. It really is like nothing else I've had before and unforgettable in both taste and texture. My group also went with a famous lamb dish as well. I don't remember the name offhand, but it is incredibly soft, well seasoned and nicely spiced dish. We also went with orders of naan, veggie dishes and meat skewers. It's beautifully decorated inside and also has the advantage of being located in a heritage building in what was formerly an estate home nearly 150 years old. It's truly a unique place and one people living in the area can be proud and of showcase to visitors.

Considering that this place serves South Indian food, the dosas are definitely nice. However, there are a bunch of good dosa places in the GTA who offer more options. Anjappar scores with its tasty non vegetarian variety. Today, the chicken was tender and well cooked. We like spicy gravy and the server's recommendation was on spot. The mutton bone soup was extra nice on the first day of snow. Overall, a must try place if you haven't been here yet.

To my surprise, I realized that the place is actually part of a global chain when I tried ordering from there recently. Unfortunately, that reflects on the prices as well. It is quite pricey and the quantity definitely does not match the prices. However, the taste almost makes up for this. Everything we got was spiced perfectly and not mellowed down at all. The chicken 65 was especially delightful and goat curry was fantastic with the typical South Indian coconut flavour coming through. In conclusion, it is probably not a place I will be ordering from often because of those prices but will definitely consider it if I am looking to impress any guests looking for authentic spicy fare from the southern part of India.

As you would expect with a nightclub, the music was loud but not so loud that you couldn't carry on a conversation. The place was very busy but thinned out a little as the night went on but remained quite full. The offer a good variety of Indian food and drink options including some very creative takes on common dishes. Our group tried a wide range of appetizers. I should mention that almost all of the food we ordered was a little spicier than most upscale Indian places in the GTA. We tried pani puri which came with test tubes of different flavours of waters ranging from spicy, mango and sweet, tandoori paneer which had a nice flavourful marinade and a layer of chutney in the middle, maggi masala momos which were veg momos boiled in the maggi noodle sauce, jalapeño poppers, paneer naanza which was basically a paneer pizza with a white sauce drizzled on top, and the sweet and spicy cauliflower bites. Everyone loved the paneer and momos most. Cauliflower was good but similar to what I've had at a few other places. The jalapeño poppers were good but again fairly typical of what a lot of places serve. For the pizza, most people thought it was just okay. There was a lot of white sauce drizzled on top which drowned out most of the flavour of the other toppings. Some people in our party also ordered tandoori fish and tandoori chicken which they enjoyed. I had one criticism. There was no soap in the main floor washroom for handwashing. If I had noticed this before eating, I would have thought twice about eating there. I would have given them 5 stars. Giving them the benefit of the doubt that this was a one time oversight, I would give them a 4.

Another server came to replace our appetizer plates for dinner plates but seemed confused on how to do this (what?). We had to help her clear the table so she could put the plates out. Then we waited for half an hour, with no sign of food my husband went to the kitchen to find a server. Finally someone came to our table and asked us what we would like to order. We said we ordered over an hour ago. At this point the restaurant was packed. It appeared that they didn't have enough people working to have the restaurant run smoothly. 35 minutes later our mains began to trickle out. Our original server/ owner came out and said "Sorrry it's so so busy but I told you to tell me when you were ready for your mains." It was pretty sleazy because it was obvious he had set this up to be my fault. I told him "You disappeared for an hour how could I ask you?" He continued to apologize and then walk away. I didn't realize this place was in nightclub mode from 6pm. Loud music blaring from televisions which is fine, a million type of lights, a live flute player walking through the restaurant while the background music blared through the tvs. If you get overstimulated easily, this place is a nightmare for that. Some food was good, some wasn't. I don't remember because it was 6 weeks ago. I loved the seating area, we were in a booth. I don't recommend, would never go here ever again. It has so much potential but the poor service, untrained staff and little respect for their customers was the worst restaurant experience I've had in a really long time. They ruined my graduation dinner. Clearly the people who work there are Befikr and keep their diners in Fikrmand mode.
