Ended up here for lunch as the place I intended to go to was closed. I love South Indian food so I was happy to give it a try. My son and I arrived around 2pm. There was one other duo at a table then 2 more parties arrived after us.....so not very busy at that time. The buffet looked ok but we chose a la carte. My son had a cheese dosa and mango lassi that he enjoyed. I had the tomato, onion, chili uttapam. It was big and very filling.....lots of onions and quite spicy. That accompanying coconut chutney was bland, red chutney was spicy and sambars were fine. Tax and tip included, lunch was $32 total for both of us. Staff were nice, washrooms and decor simple and they were an annoying intermittent sound from an alarm system? I think. Located in a plaza off the 403 across square one mall.

Our friends recommended this place for chicken chettinad so decided to got here to enjoy authentic taste. We ordered chicken Chettinad ,garlic naan and today's special fish fry (Pomfret). Chicken Chettinad was tasty, great balance of spices and authentic chettinad flavours. Fish was also very fresh , as it was deep fried hence bit oily. We took Meduwada sambar for take away. Wada was good though not crispy ,sambar and chatani were ok. I found this place pricey compare to other options available for dine in. Over all Service : Good Time to prepare :10-15 min

We ordered delivery via door dash and seems their service is slow.. had to try the chettinad chicken and also ordered pepper chicken masala and vegetable kothu paratha. One note to the restaurant - please add tag on top of the boxes as to what is what. I could easily identify the kothu paratha but differentiating the chettinad chicken and the pepper chicken masala was difficult. No matter what was what both tasted good. Kothu paratha came with raitha and veg curry which was equally good.

This is one of the best kept secrets and hidden gems of South Indian non-vegetarian food in Scarborough. Indian cuisine is varied and differs significantly across different states and regions of India. Chettinad cuisine comes from of a community called the Nattukotai Chettiars, or Nagarathars as they call themselves from Chettinad region of Tamilnadu state in South India. Value for money: fantastic, probably the best. Ambience: decent and good ambience, as is expected in an authentic Indian restaurant, nothing is out of place or over done. CUSTOMER SERVICE and Hospitality: very good, Courteous staff who helped me to park my car, Charge my phone, give excellent food recommendations and a brisk, efficient service. Cleanliness: clean tables, cutlery and toilets. Food quality, taste and presentation: We ordered three main dishes - the Sunday special chicken curry, Prawns masala, dry Mutton coconut fry and for appetizers the cauliflower 65. The Sunday special chicken curry was delectable, bordering on divine and truly reflected Chettinad food at its best. Similarly the other dishes were very good. As was the dessert rasmalai. A bit perplexed and confused by the earlier average and not so good reviews. Food is definitely a bit spicy but this is what authentic /true Chettinad food tastes like. If you want to sample Chettinad food, definitely go to this place. I sure am, again and again!

This restaurant is very authentic! Their Dosa is one of the best Dosas I have had. Unfortunately because the Dosa was large, I did not order anything else in the menu. My husband tried their buffet which is a huge selection for only $16.99. (Holiday buffet) He was quite happy with the food and can tell that it's a place alot of Indian families would come for a family meal together. So you know it's a great restaurant. I did try their specialty drink called a Falooda. It was very sweet and tasty drink. Overall, a nice restaurant. Would come here more often if we lived in the area.

    Great fish briani

Their mild spicy is actually very spicy for those who are not a fan of chilli. So be careful when choosing ur level of chilli. Awesome restaurant bery great authentic indian taste. Had their fish briani( was spicy) - i loved it. The fish did not have the smelly fishy smell like other briani places I had. Well seasoned. Took a meat dish masala was super spicy but still great taste prepare ur nose to be running. Had their lolipop chicken too- it was that great as lolipop. Was ok to eat but not great. If you are using gps, it will make u skip the entrance to the restaurant lol. Just slow down to look for the entrance

Busy Indian restaurant located in a tiny plaza by square one. Came here on a Saturday night and the place was overflowing with people until closing time. Lots of people ordering sit-down meals but also a lot of people getting takeout. We had to wait about 45 minutes to get a seat, but we were a larger party so that was fine. The food was really good and beware that they do not mess around with the spice level. We started with the chicken lollipops which were exactly how we remembered them in India. For mains we orders a variety of dosas which were good, butter chicken, a mutton curry, and mutton coconut fry. All the dishes were authentic and tasted great. The two mutton dishes were very spicy so might want to stay away if you're not into spicy food. Also tried the mango milkshake which was nice and refreshing. The service was great - they did their best to accommodate us as fast as possible, and the orders were taken and brought out with no errors. The food was made fresh and came out within 10 minutes. Would recommend trying to make a reservation no matter what size group you come with, as the place seemed to be extremely busy no matter the time.

    Small salad bar

Another great find in a funny, tiny strip mall. The waitstaff was very friendly and helpful when we trying to figure out what to order, also a very friendly couple there telling us that the food was spicy and chatting to us. We ended up getting Idlies to start, masala dosa, Anjappar chicken masala and to cap it off crab roast (nandu varuval) It was a great recommendation from the waitress, the only thing is that it was extremely messy so maybe would think about getting something else next time. We also went to their weekday lunch buffet. It was a very small buffet with just a tiny variety of food. Small salad bar, some chicken and veggie dishes and a couple of other things that I can't even remember. The stand out for me was their coconut chutney and their all you can eat dosa. I knew it was a dosa buffet but was confused because we didn't see any on the buffet. A kind man explained that you had to order them off the menu. So basically you can order as many as you want and as many different kinds of dosa as you would like as well. They cook them fresh and hot and bring them right to the table for you. My con for this would be that being new to this buffet I wish there was a sign or some sort of indication telling you how to order your food. Also the waitstaff should have told you how the buffet works with the dosa ordering.

    Parota and Mutton Chukka

Went during closing hours. Food taste was great. Priced a bit on the higher side. Ordered Parota and Mutton Chukka ($17, Qty is less for the price you pay ), Chicken Lollipop ($10, 5 pieces) and Chicken Biryani ($13-14, qty was less). They had crab dishes as well but was scared to try late during closing hours.

Butter Chicken w/ Butter Naan. Masala Dosa

Ordered This off UberEat.. Friggggin AWESOME!! BUTTER CHICKEN w/ BUTTER NAAN I've been looking for the best butter chicken since my high school days when I first tried it at my friends house. Mission Complete! Chicken was tender 5/5 Sauce 5/5 Naan 3/5 ( I prefer Garlic) MASALA DOSA Tried plain dosa the other day and wanted to experiment on the other flavour options. From the reviews I read I was leaning this one based off spice and flavour. The spice lives up to the reviews and there is a kick. Came with a nice soup and what I believe to be Sambar and another green sauce. Dosa 3/5 Soup 4/5 This place really has me wanted to visit the buffet! Enjoy

I heard a lot about the buffet here but never got a chance to try it, so instead, I thought of going for the À la carte option. People recommended the dosa but I was in the mood to try the curries and the parathas. I did not regret my choice. I ended up ordering 12 parathas, because they were soo good. We ordered fish curry, chicken pepper masala, butter chicken, chicken biryani and mutton biryani. My favourite was the chicken pepper. It was really spicy, but I was warned, so won't be pointing fingers. It was more like a workout but yet enjoyable . The french fries were different from regular ones, they added some kind of masala which made it taste great. I loved everything here but the only drawback was the price. It wasn't worth the quantity. The mutton biryani was 13.99$. I was expecting a big portion for that price. The quantity will be enough for one person because there was more mutton than rice. To end this lunch experience we ordered Mango lassi and tea. Loved both! I would come to this place again to try the buffet because the A la carte was a bit too expensive.

Fabulous customer service and delicious food. I've eaten here before many years ago and for some reason I never forgot their vada pav... So today, I decided to take my husband here for his first time and he loved it. We had the butter chicken dosa with extra chilli and it comes with two sambars, one orange chutney(can't remember the name), and coconut chutney. Delicious triangle! Lol I finished the whole thing. For desert we got the ras malai which was ok. I'll definitely come back and try other dosas.

Mysore masala dosa (bottom) and Masala dosa (top). Mysore masala dosa was a bit spicy.

We made reservations in case but hardly a line unlike the experience at Dragon legend( had reservations but line up for it was still out the door and around building) It was busy but lots of food at the hot tables being refilled often, beverages refreshed and dishes from our table promptly removed. Service was attentive in the dining rooms and friendly by the hostess station. Lunch had enough items to be happy with, but it seemed like they altered the BBQ/Grill station to breakfast foods, like bacon and fried eggs and had a few empty slots where I remember had items previously. Highs: -Black peppered beef cubes very very tender and flavourful - fried noodles on point - tofu pudding dessert had a gingered sugar syrup to drizzle on top Lows: -peking duck seemed more hard instead of crispy skin - fried egg Left the restaurant very stuffed, kids were happy. Upon entering the restaurant I was greeted to a very clean and modern ambience that reminded me kind of like some of the big buffets in Las Vegas. Very cool setup where they have 3 self serve fountain drinks which is included in your buffet price. In the middle they have a grilling area where they are grilling Basa fish, salmon, chicken, sirloin steak. The steak was amazing they put this butter, garlic garnish on top that makes it so delicious. I had 8 of these steaks this evening! They also had a stir fry, soup noodle where you can choose your own ingredients, different vegetables and protein and carbs for them to either turn into a stir fry or soup noodle. When we had first arrived, we were told that it would be a two-hour wait, and that we would need to have a pager with us at all times that would be used to notify us once a table was ready. We weren't able to get a pager immediately as they were all being used therefore, we had to wait at least fifteen minutes before we were able to get one. Once we had that pager in hand, we waited about one hour for our table, which was actually not as long as we had expected. Upon entering the restaurant via an escalator from the first floor, we were pleased to see how picturesque it was. With the large windows showcasing the horse racing at the time, along with the tables that boasted their own private television screens, we were impressed with how wonderful and inviting everything looked. Upon being seated, we were given programs on the betting available for the evening's races, which was detailed with everything we needed to know. We also noticed that there was a middle-aged woman coming around, asking us if we were interested in placing bets during our dining experience. The diners went wild during the races, which created an exciting, yet sometimes, loud atmosphere. In terms of the dining, I was pleasantly surprised with how many options were available. Since it was only $12.95 (with a Winners Circle Card), I was blown away at how much food was placed within the buffet area, with an area dedicated to bread with a variety of spreads, another area with salads and other cold appetizers (such as artichokes, cold cuts, cheese, etc.), a hot table (with such items as lasagna, pizza, chicken, fish, and more), along with a dessert section, which boasted a wide variety of desserts, and a few dishes of fruit. All of the items were well-prepared, and everything tasted fantastic, with each item at the hot table coming onto my plate hot (temperature-wise), which is rare to find in a buffet. Overall, I really enjoyed my experience at this buffet, and would highly-recommend it to anyone who wants delicious food, at a low price. The only thing that I didn't like was the waiting period, and how slow it was, considering that many guests usually sit there the entire evening, watching the races and eating for hours on end. Although this is definitely the idea of the trackside buffet, it could have been the reason why we were so delayed in getting to our table. Nevertheless, it was worth the wait, and will definitely be going again!

Walking in, we were greeted with a smile. The interior of the restaurant was spacious with a private feel since they had areas sectioned off from one another. We ordered the Japchae (5/5), Boneless Yangnyum Galbi (4/5), Pork Belly (4/5). Japchae was delicious with a hint of smokey flavour to it. The noodles were chewy and complemented well with the savoury flavours of bulgogi. The vegetables added a nice crunch to every bite. The mushrooms added a chewy and fun texture to the dish. Boneless Yangnyum Galbi was so tender. Its marinade was on the sweet side which we weren't really a fan of but we still enjoyed the dish. Pork Belly was also tender. It was thinly sliced which was quite a let down since we typically prefer pork belly sliced a bit thicker. The BBQ we ordered came with two bowls of rice and lettuce (non-refillable), ssamjang and sesame oil with black pepper and salt for dipping, and some side dishes that were refillable: kimchi, bean sprouts, cucumbers and sweet potato. The overall quality of the ingredients, especially the meats, were great. It was pretty telling how much the cooks enjoyed prepping and cooking the dishes. This place is on the pricier side which is reasonable for the quality of their food. The portions are also reasonable for their price-points. I'd come back on a special occasion and/or when I'm craving japchae. The servers we had were attentive, checking in every so often to clear our dishes and change our grills.

Was really hoping this place was worth the drive in the middle of the weekday from downtown. Our…read moreclients took us here as we were the out of towners and wanted to show us the OG spot for the famous lobster tower. The restaurant was surrounded in tanks full of lobster, crab, seafood and then a ton of dry aged steaks. Definitely something you don't see in California. Clean and spacious. Service was what you would expect from a Chinese seafood restaurant. Overall the meal was good, for me and a few others at the table the star of the show was actually the fish. The lobster while impressive when they brought it out was not as flavorful as one would have expected. And same with the king crab legs - my favorite have been the ones I've had in SF. Was interesting to come and experience it but I wouldn't come back. I prefer quality food over an IG-moment.

The establishment is famous for its iconic, towering mountains of deep-fried Hong Kong-style lobster and giant Alaskan king crabs.Without a doubt, the food is exceptional. The seafood is extraordinarily fresh--pulled straight from massive surrounding glass tanks--and prepared to absolute perfection with their signature Maggi sauce and garlic toppings. However, the major downside here is the notoriously slow and chaotic service. Due to the massive crowds, servers can be hard to flag down, orders take a long time to arrive, and the staff often feels rushed or inattentive. Despite the frustrating wait times and subpar service, the spectacular flavors and theatrical presentation make it a worthwhile destination for patient seafood lovers.Watch the massive lobster towers being prepared and served fresh at this iconic spot

Price is $55.99 per adult and for senior (65+), there's 20% off the adult price listed. The buffet price is a bit expensive but reasonable in comparison to other buffets. There is a variety of food to choose from including seafood, meats, noodles and veggie dishes to choose from. There's a Peking Duck section and a "noodle bar" as well. My favourite was the sashimi section and it was regularly refilled whenever I went to get more food. Personally, the highlights of the buffet is the seafood and the herbal soup. They even have lamb skewers in the hot food section! Overall, a good dining experience and service was adequate. The servers came around to pick up plates and check in regularly. Received our drinks in a timely manner. No major complaints except restaurant was a bit dark where we were sat so it'd be nice to have a bit more lighting.

You add the cucumber sticks, green onions and hoisin sauce to your pancakes. I also enjoyed the salt & pepper shrimp and the salmon sashimi. For dessert, I had a soft serve vanilla ice cream cone, which was disappointing, and a piece of wolfberry jelly. Honestly, I don't think I ate my money's worth of food so I don't think this was worth it for me but if you're really hungry, it's a decent buffet. Parking is free outside the restaurant.
