This company has been a NIGHTMARE to deal with, and they are not even done installing our home…read moretheater yet. The Job: Take an existing amateur DIY home theater and turn it into a professionally designed and professionally equipped home theater. We opted for Bob's "Platinum" package which included the most expensive options for all equipment. What's been done so far? Bob removed the existing home theater equipment in December 2021, and then we didn't hear from him for weeks, during which time we had an unusable construction site in our TV room. In January 2022 we started pestering Bob to complete the work. February is now over and the work is still not done, and there have been issues and mistakes and unprofessionalism every step of the way. First, Bob's carpenter left broken pieces of molding in our house (i.e., construction debris) and refused to clean it up despite weeks of asking. Bob finally cleaned it up himself after he happened to come by for an unrelated issue. Second, Bob's team cut 4 enormous holes in the wall of our TV room that were bigger than the space needed to put the speakers in, and also did not fix the holes from the equipment they removed. When I asked about these holes the worker advised that it was my responsibility to hire someone else to fix these holes that he had made, and at my own expense. Once I got Bob involved Bob agreed that this was obviously his responsibility to fix, but.... Third, the workers Bob hired to come fix the enormous holes in the wall did an awful job, and tried to lie about the extent of the mess they were leaving behind. After we asked Bob to come to the house to personally inspect the low quality and unprofessional patching and painting his subcontractors had performed, he agreed that it was not a good job and that the work would need to be redone. Fourth, once the initially shoddy paint and patch work was fixed, Bob's workers installed the screen on our wall without reference to any plan or measurements or blueprints - notwithstanding the advertising on Bob's website stating that he makes blueprints for every job - and the screen was put in so low to the ground that the view is totally obstructed from the seating platform that was built by Bob's contractor to specifications provided by Bob. Even worse, when I asked Bob about the screen placement, he told me it was difficult to determine the proper height for the screen without having the specifications for the seating. BUT HE NEVER ASKED FOR THE SEATING SPECIFICATIONS!!!!! And his workers put up the screen without ever asking for this!!!! And Bob's response was actually that it was an easy fix that would only require - you guessed it - more patching and painting of holes put in the walls of my house by Bob's employees. Of course I provided the seating specs within minutes of being asked, but it was too late to prevent the screen from going up in the wrong place. One would think the Audio-Visual Design experts would account for these kinds of things before performing work, but what do I know - I'm not an AV expert. Since then, we've also noticed several holes in the ceiling that Bob's workers did not fix after removing the projector that was mounted before we hired Bob's company to redo our system. Finally, all of this would have been much less complicated had Bob not given me the go-ahead to paint the room and have a new carpet installed - I expressly offered to delay both painting and carpet installation, but Bob assured me that would not be necessary. So, on top of all the above issues, we have had to take extra precautions to safeguard a brand new carpet in a construction zone and to protect the integrity of the newly painted walls. Now, Bob is not answering our emails or phone calls and we cannot get a straight answer about when or how this job will be done properly and finally finished. Honestly, we'd hoped to avoid putting up a bad review, but (a) this is information the public deserves to know about how Bob Krasne and Westchester AV do business, and (b) perhaps Bob will see this review and realize that he needs to start paying attention to detail. BOTTOM LINE - I would only consider recommending this company to someone who was my worst enemy. Maybe.
