This place is such a fun surprise! My friend took me here after we had a great lunch at the The Rustic Spoon. We walked around and took in all the beautiful zen fountains, Buddha sculptures and horse statues. And so many elephants! This place is a designers' heaven!!!! Absolutely gorgeous decor mostly for landscape. Surprisingly the prices are not bad at all considering the quality of the items. Most of the pieces are pretty big scale, but even if you are not buying anything just walking around and looking at everything is quite the experience. It was my type of Disneyland!! Every time I come in here, I leave speechless. The items in this store are literally one of a kind, or close. There is little space where there isn't something amazing and beautiful to admire. I brought my bf here today because he is redesigning his home, and it was about an hour drive. He huffed and puffed all the way about how far it was... I just kept saying, "Don't worry. This store is worth it. Trust me." He continued to huff until we walked in the door. Then his jaw dropped, and I was queen of the day!!! He loved it, and walked away an hour later with some very heavy items! A lot of people complain about the high prices in this store, and they are high, but I always say "Something is only expensive to you if you don't think its worth it" If you don't think an item is worth the price, then don't buy it, and you will have nothing to complain about! Honey, we're not in Kansas anymore....and I think we just fell down the rabbit hole! Seriously, if you're thinking of dropping some acid and looking for a good place to "trip out" (I don't advocate drug use BTW), this would be your place if you can't find your way to an enchanted forest or a lazerium show. the bf and I were looking around La Brea the other day at furniture stores and came across Designers Views. We were instantly transported to wonderland. It was a treat for the nose, eyes, and ears. The nose delighted to the aroma of incense and candles while the eyes were treated to a feast of colorful floral and plant arrangements amongst all the exotic beauty of the various furnishings and objects de art. Our ears were filled with the sound of some world music mix that was very ummm zenn-ish. You might think for a moment you're walking through a rain forest because of Silly. He's the store parrot, whom, if I'm not mistaken, I believe to be a cherry headed conure. Ok, so enough of my rhetoric! They have some very lovely furnishings here and if you're looking for Buddha's and the like, you'll find 'em here in every form imaginable! If you like to keep orchids (in bloom) in your home ask them about their Orchid club. It's pretty cool - for a fee of course! Suffice it to say, if you're looking for unusual and exotic items for your home or business this place will more than satisfy that search. antique buggies anyone? Or antique spanish cash registers? Or how bout a zebra print chair featuring the mane down the center? Yes, you'll find them all here and more. Much more. Oh yes, and good luck finding your way out. My wife bought me an Indian bookcase here that ended up being infested with TERMITES. When she called the store to see if there was anything they could do, they refused to help. For what she paid, they should've offered to pick up and replace the piece. No other furniture in our home has or has had termites. We will never buy anything here again. read more

This is kind of a weird store. It's not that I hated the stuff inside, it's just that everything was so BIG. I guess it's just a little too "over the top" for my taste... but I'm sure this appeals to much of the LA/Hollywood set. You would need to have a lot of space available to accommodate the pieces they carry... not likely that someone with a smaller place would find anything suitable size-wise. Anyway, I came in to see if they had any cushions/small decor items but it was a bust. I was in & out of there in less than 10 minutes. I don't often yelp, but when I do it's to share something I feel people should know or might have missed. This is one of those times. I stumbled upon this gem while getting an estimate for work at the BMW, VOLVO, and MB specialist next door (Johann's-review to come.) The workers from DV were friendly and asking how long I'd be parked in that spot, politely waiting to resume their work so my recently detailed car, parked a few feet away, didn't get dusty. Once inside it was one of the few places I've been where I had to force myself to leave, the other two that come to mind being the musee d'orsay and a 500,000 square foot antique and artifact warehouse I wandered into last December in Kerala, India. Like both those places, it's obvious that someone with taste has purchased and placed everything just so, and like the former there's a tranquility yet an energy that really shifts your mood and perspective. I've met the owner and her daughter, both are ineffably sweet and warm and it's a welcome respite from the sterility of that area and the string of me too lighting and furniture shops littering la brea. The only downside: I suddenly wanted a bigger place to house some of the stuff. I immediately told everyone I could think of who would appreciate the space and the wares to check it out. I was a massive fan of this store until my last trip there. Previously, I'd found a piece I wanted to purchase (even though the prices are a bit overinflated) that was around $2000... I'd spoken to a couple of people in the store (one I'm sure is the manager, the other, possibly an owner?) Anyway, I needed them to email me the dimensions and a photo so I could make sure it would fit / look right in my place. I never heard back. The last time I went there, I'd brought a lady and her two daughters with me to see this incredible store and also to look for new pieces for my home. The entire time we were there, there was a man following us about 5 feet behind, staring like we were going to steal something. It was extremely uncomfortable. We were also asked at one point what we were browsing for in a rather rude tone. I don't frequent establishments that treat me or my guests like that, and sadly, I will no longer be referring people to this store. read more

Designers Views is truly one of a kind. You walk in and you are immediately transported to another part of the world. No need to book a flight, you feel like you have visited numerous countries just by walking through the store. They have things that you will not find anywhere else. I felt like a kid in a candy store trying to find the right pieces to spruce up my place because they have the most unique and beautiful furniture and accessories. Also as someone who LOVES LOVES LOVES orchids (I am such a believer that orchids are the perfect gift to bring for any occasion), their orchids were way bigger and more beautiful than the ones I usually pick up at Trader Joe's. Last but not least, Natalie, the girl who helped me was so patient! I unfortunately can be indecisive when it comes to making furniture decisions because I am not that creative of a person and lack a sense of intuitive interior decorating skills, but Natalie listened to me brainstorm and even let me show her a picture of the room I was trying to decorate. Her ideas were so helpful as she walked me through the store and gave her suggestions. I couldn't be happier with my gorgeous new rug, dresser and mirror. Oh and I love their soy candles too! A large warehouse space on La Brea filled with tons of asian wood inspire furniture. Lots of interesting pieces but everything here is overpriced. Seems like this place is cashing in on the new Buddha trend with a bunch of Buddha related items but most of these items are poorly done and are not worth the asking price considering that all of the buddha items looks a bit odd. Not very peaceful looking. But one cool program they had was the Orchid Club which was a great idea: you buy the orchid arrangements and then refill them for $30 once your orchids die. I purchase this because they told me they only use the best quality orchids, blah, blah, blah. So I've decided to purchase 2 [1 large ($65) and 1 small ($45) arrangement]. My large one is doing fine but the small one dies within two weeks of purchase. Although 80 percent of the flowers have bloomed during my purchase and the sales person offered to give me a younger orchid, I've decided to stick with the one that I've saw and fell in love with. My orchids die in two weeks which is a bit too fast for a "high quality" orchids and then it will cost me another $30 to refill it...WTF! Although they've offer me a $5 discount. Either way, I felt ripped off since I can get a great orchid at Trader's Joe for $15 and it last me 3 to 4 months (never fails). But my biggest beef is when I did not have a chance to stop by to picked up my refill order for two weeks (Dad past away and had too much things to deal with). I'd stop by today to pick up my refill and they've told me that they've left a tons of message for me and they never receive any call back from me so they've returned it back to the orchid vendor because it died. I felt that this lady (wearing a black frame glasses, think it was the owner) just had a rude tone while talking to me, felt like she was irritated that I didn't pick up my order when it was ready. I just thought this was really rude and decided not to deal with this bogus establishment again. I guess they care more about getting paid and making the quick buck then establishing a solid relationship with their customer because throughout this mishap, she never ever once apologize or try help solve or suggest any type of resolution during my visit. Guess they forgot the value of clientele referrals and loyalty. Paid my $30 and left without my orchid. This program has great potential with such a great idea but the execution was terrible and the customer service was lacking in every way, way below my expectation for the premium price point. Avoid this "Orchid Club" scam because it is not worth it. A premium orchid should last you 3 to 4 months like Trader Joe's and their claim of premium orchid only last 2 weeks. What a shame. Great concept, horrible product and customer service. So consider yourself warned. read more

Two of the pieces I bought I later discovered were infested with powderpost beetles. These can hibernate inside the wood for as long as a year without any signs, so I do not fault the store here. There is no way they could know. However, I sent them several emails simply asking for treatment advice. These went ignored and unanswered. Have bought three items over a 2 year period. Am happy with the furniture, even it it's a bit overpriced. However, I expected more from their customer service. Will not shop here again. read more

The fountain we purchased is gorgeous and even the installation/delivery team was knowledgeable and kind as well. Yes, it was a magical experience but I would never buy anything there because it was so expensive. You can get a truckload of Manzanita trees for a $25 cutting permit fee out in the fees and make my own sculptures. I did not see the "no photographs" sign until I was on my way out which was by the cashier's desk. I was informed earlier as I was photographing not to take pictures. The workers there were not pushy about trying to sell me anything which was fine because I went there just to look and get inspired with ideas. 4 stars for an amazing feast for my eyes but lost the 1 star for such an expensive store. read more

Designer Views is like a World Market Store on steroids. Actually, its so much more than that. If you are in the Hollywood area, I highly recommend you stop in and check it out for yourself. This place is amazing! You can literally walk in and get lost as you wander past a 7 foot Buddha sculpture and then an 8 food elephant hiding behind the most amazing botanical sculpture! And look at that extravagant chair that looks like a throne next to the beautifully carved Indian trunk. This massive warehouse is filled with treasures waiting to be discovered! Just be prepared to spend some serious money. I'm talking $500, $1,000, $5,000 or even $10,000 or more on some of these items. This place is worthy of 5 stars just for a walk through! read more

As soon as I set foot in this store, I felt as if I were Alice and had been transported to Wonderland. I have never been to a store before that felt so magical (and a little trippy...in a good way of course)! My fiancé and I drooled over the natural wood tables and chairs, the massive stone Buddha sculptures, custom botanical sculptures, ginormous evil villain-style chairs, and much more. No you will not find thrift store or Ikea bargains here, but if you are in the market for impeccable furniture that will last your lifetime, this is a fantastic place to look. I do not agree with other reviewers who say that the prices are overinflated. Similar pieces to what you find here sell for MANY times more elsewhere. We purchased an amazing natural wood coffee table for $1400 and have seen nearly identical ones for $10,000-$15,000 elsewhere. The owner is incredibly nice and super accommodating. He texted us updates and photos as our stunning botanical sculpture was being made to ask for our opinions. He also called after our purchases had been delivered to check that we were satisfied. I could not be more thrilled with the experience we had here and will absolutely be back as we continue to build our permanent furniture collection. read more

This garden and design store is amazing. From the moment you pull up outside you can tell the owners have incredible taste in plants, planting and pots and design. The interior has a broad range of fountains, accessories and furniture. Beyond great product, the owners had good advice and offered custom design at no extra cost. Just the feeling of peace and beauty takes over. They have many beautiful pieces you truly get lost exploring the huge selection. I had a custom manzanita sculpture made according to my selections and it turned out gorgeous. Everyone was very helpful and accomidating. Everyone who sees it instanlty loves it as much as I do. I walked into this amazing warehouse filled with statues, vases, and waterfalls not knowing which piece of furniture to pick to add to my garden because they are so many unique pieces. I was greeted by Natalie, she totally worked with my budget and I was able to get this amazing fountain made of onyx, jade stones and marble. I get so many compliments and it gives my garden such character and it makes me reminisce about my vacation in Thailand which is something I will never forget. Its cool CeeLo Green, Lionel Richie, and Sharon Stone have bought furniture from them. I think eventually I will have to go back for the matching table and bench. Furniture and offerings are beautiful. That is why I offer one star. Otherwise, I'd give zero stars for service and pricing. The owners of this store are CHEAP - that is, they seem to care more about bottom line than establishing a relationship with you as a designer or customer. Being a designer, you'd think they'd want my continued business and would price accordingly. However, this was the first and will be the last time I shop here for a client. Dalia was rude to me many times and her discount to me as a designer was an absolute joke. I've been in this business long enough to have met and appreciated incredibly generous and relationship-driven wholesalers and retailers. Dalia and her husband are not generous and not relationship-driven. They are the worst I've experienced in my 20 years in this business. The one time that she offered a genuine smile to me was when my credit card came out to pay for the pieces I was buying. It was at that moment she became almost charming. Yuck. Prices are ridiculous and offensive at times, too. I found what I was looking for, but I paid much more than it was worth. I will not be returning here. And yes, seeing that beautiful bird they have trapped in a tiny tiny cage made my heart ache. So sad. Only other way they earned a single star was their grunt labor staff (moving furniture around and prepping furniture that is sold). Those guys wore genuine smiles and were very helpful. read more

Wow, this morning as I was walking to Best Buy I saw this place called "Designers View." I was in shock when I saw their window display. Not because I was mesmerized by their "Eco-friendly sculptures" as they call them on their website, but because these so called sculptures are nothing but a cheap Knockoff of this amazing store on 3rd st (I Believe the place is called Krislyn). How dare does this person called "Soli" call herself a designer. I mean, if you are going to copy something, at least do it right! read more
