Nicole is absolutely amazing; I purchased a dress that was a size or two too small, but I had to have it... of course I wanted it ready for an upcoming vacation. Let's first start off by saying I needed a miracle in under two weeks and Designs by Nicole made it happen. From the dress being too small and only 8 days away from prom we were stressed. From the first conversation and fitting Nicole was very patient and very knowledgeable of what needed to be done. Nicole basically reconstructed the back of the dress with a corset that matched so good that you couldn't tell the dress was not made like that. Nicole was absolutely AMAZING! She completely reworked my wedding dress in 3 weeks after the original seamstress completely screwed it up. She undid all of the original alterations and discovered that the original seamstress had cut parts of my lace overlay on the dress! Instead of starting to panic, Nicole assured me that they would make it perfect for my big day. After 3 appointments they had completely reworked everything. I happened to notice that since part of the lace had been cut there was some missing beading. I only mentioned it in passing as something I would only notice but that I was a little upset at the original seamstress. I was there to pick it up that time and was wondering why it seemed to be taking longer than I thought it would. Nicole is fantastic. She modified a dress I had made in Vietnam for my wedding that just didn't fit quite right (for a variety of reasons). One of those reasons was some covid-era weight gain, and she cleverly found a way to add the needed fabric from a scarf so you would never know. I can't say that my experience here was as good as I expected. After reading all of these reviews, I thought she was THE BEST. But I'm sad to say that I have received MUCH better service and work elsewhere. Although Nicole is warm and professional, and made a very good suggestion for my bridesmaid dress to have a bustle--- she made a mistake with my alterations. After I left my first fitting, I called her the next morning and told her that I wanted a longer hemline and would be changing my shoes. She said ok.. and suggested that I come back in for another fitting before she began any work on the dress. When I came back a week later, I discovered that the hem was already cut- and now waaay too short! The area by the hips were also poorly stitched and bulky where the stitching took place. She said she would fix the hip area, and then upon remembering our conversation about not altering the hem yet... she admitted that she 'failed to write down the instructions on my ticket for her assistant.' She said she could steam stretch the dress though and get it about an inch and a half longer. She then boasted about her 25 plus years of experience. A week later, I called and expressed my worries about the hem and whether I would still have to pay for that part of the alterations- since there was a mistake made on her part. She had somewhat of an attitude and said I would still have to pay the original quoted price of $120 for ALL of my alterations - including the hemline, since "You still got a hem!" Wow. I was surprised by that response. She now refused to accept responsibility and made it seem as if it was my fault. After a third trip, the hem was still too short, and I had a very hard time zipping up the dress- since the zip was in hips area where it was stitched and taken in at least twice - in order to fix the bulky area that I pointed out after the first go around. I strongly believe that you get what you pay for- but sadly, after three 45min trips each way - and spending a whopping $120, I left there with a dress that doesn't fit properly and has poor & crooked stitching on one side.. I won't have the confidence walking down the aisle that I would like to have. Next time, I will go to my local dry cleaners and spend half the price for the kind of service and work I got. :( read more

She has altered a number of elaborate dance costumes for me in the last two years, and each time I have found her suggestions, prices, and most importantly, work, to be excellent. Came here to get my bridesmaid dress hemmed. It was my first time going to a professional tailor. Nicole was really friendly and was obviously knowledgeable when it came to textiles and tailoring. She measured me first and asked what I wanted and then she suggested what would be perfect for my situation. The price was reasonable. She charged about $50 based on the material of the dress and how much I wanted to hem.
