I can't stop thinking about them. And there is absolutely no reason to deprive a bakery of a full five stars based solely on their specialty item and noting else. The owner is a down to earth nice man. He is very pleasant and should be very proud of what he does. My husband had the soft serve pistachio/Berry twist. Boy, was that good! I tasted some and the pistachio flavor comes through nicely. I was really worried at first look because when you have dark colors like some of the flavors have, all you taste is food coloring. This is not the case at Tasty Treat. I don't know how he does it, but there are no overpowering tastes in what I tried. This business is a very unassuming stand alone building in a quaint residential neighborhood, but it is so close to the 90. So, no excuse not to briefly exit the Thruway and get a great cup of ice cream! He offers an array of toppings, but I opted to forego any topping on my cotton candy sundae. This time, it was even more fun to share the experience with friends and celebrate both a birthday and an anniversary. The drinks were wonderful and the perfect complement to the decadent desserts. We decided to share two desserts, and both were absolutely dreamy. The menu changes seasonally, which I love, although I was admittedly disappointed that the dessert I had been hoping for was no longer available. Fortunately, there were still plenty of tempting choices. The desserts at Silk are truly works of art. The All Cream & No Apologies was so beautiful that you almost didn't want to eat it! It was light and airy, with a wonderful fresh strawberry gelée in the center. The crème brûlée arrived complete with a sparkler and all the fanfare, such a fun touch for our celebration. I also really appreciated that when we made our online reservation, we included a note about our celebrations, and the restaurant actually read it and made a point of acknowledging them. Those little details make an experience feel special and are always appreciated. The cocktails were just the right amount of sweetness and paired beautifully with the desserts. Our waitress was sweet, attentive, and provided great service throughout the evening. My only real disappointment was the atmosphere, and it was twofold. On my first visit, the music and overall vibe reminded me of a high-end dessert bar in Miami Beach; sophisticated, fun, and intimate. This visit, the music didn't seem to fit the restaurant nearly as well.
