My grandmother has lived here for the past 10 years , and within this last year we have had several instances with the staff not handling their jobs appropriately (steadily increasing rent with a population that has a set income, kicking seniors out of the clubhouse unjustly, or changing the hours of access to the clubhouse randomly - although that is the only place some seniors can go for outside engagement). Yesterday, Destinations Alexander had their maintenance team remove all Direct TV satellites from the apartment complex by throwing them away in the garbage as they stated "they impede the walk ways"... so now their are several seniors with no access to tv or internet and will be charged by Direct Tv for the equipment not being returned. I AM FURIOUS! Thankfully my grandmother has family support an was home an heard maintenance then told them to place her satellite on her porch. But for the rest of those seniors ... who may not know what to do! This is TERRIBLE !!! These are seniors so if this was the plan, why not get with those seniors an have a presentation of different providers to choose from in anticipation of removing Direct Tv from the community. Or making sure everyone understands whats to come INSTEAD you post this in the mailroom ( not the monthly calendar or community clubhouse). TERRIBLE MANAGEMENT DECISION . At this point i would not recommend & check in with your family if they live here!!! read more

(that being Steph Sablan or JJ Cordero and NOT the business owner's) was expected just like they gave in their responses of other 1 star reviews!! NOW... they don't want the bad review, so, NOW... they are asking us to "reach out to them directly." Don't be fooled, YELP readers, they really DON'T want us to reach out. If they wanted to "work towards a resolution", they would have refunded the $150 that JJ Cordero PROMISED us in the first place on September 30th! They would NOT have LIED to us! We would NOT have gone into the office on October 10th, expecting a check. BUT NO, we were LIED to and then told that we were wrong and in NO WAY were we getting a refund! Once again, there is NO resolution to this matter. They just don't want the bad review! YELP readers and ANYONE thinking of moving to DESTINATIONS ALEXANDER, BEWARE!! Today is 3/15/24. I would give 0 stars if possible. I called Destinations Alexander to find out why I had not received my deposit back yet. I paid them $550 on 2/12/24 but was denied so I expected my deposit to be returned as soon as possible. My call was given to the "manager". She did not identify herself until I asked if she was taking over the call from Charlotte, who is very nice. she confirmed. Never did give me her name even though I asked for it. I was told by her it takes up to 30 days, and as you can see it's been longer than 30 days. Especially given the extra day in February. She escalated the call by talking over me and arguing with me. I wish I had recorded the call. Charlotte stated on a previous call that my check was mailed on 3/5/24 to my new address and confirmed that new address. the "manager" said it was mailed to my previous address and they were waiting for it to be returned. Well, I checked with office staff there and nothing has been received for me nor returned to sender. Destinations manager lies!! She also told me that the local corporate office person I spoke to had lied to me. Greystar is the property management overseeing the Destinations. But don't bother calling them. Neither the local nor the corporate offices have a live person answering the phones. By the way, the Founder, chairman and CEO of Greystar is Bob Faith. He's been named as South Carolina's ONLY billionaire by Forbes 400 Richest People in America list with an estimated worth of $5.8 billion. That's billion with a B! read more

Don't do it! They seem nice while they are taking your money, but don't be fooled. They are rude and could not care less about customer service. Note that they will not return my calls nor will they refund my deposit of $200.00. We chose not to sign the lease papers because after driving in from California we were ignored at the office and had to call on my cell phone from outside the office to get anyone to respond. At first I was hoping to like living here, but the residents are very unfriendly. You wave or smile and all you get is a frown. And now the office doesn't answer requests, ignores concerns. The rent is increased every year, yet the do nothing to improve the conditions. DO NOT MOVE HERE. I was verbally attacted by a person here, that shouldn't have been here. She threatened my life several time and the management told me they are not responsibly for residents that or any security issues. read more

The worse.... My mother moved in 5 years ago at 85 and loved it. That was when the original owner still had it. Many day trips to pick from, monthly luncheons with entertainment, always something going on in the clubhouse.... Made the high rent worth it with all the amenities. But then he sold. Less and less day trips, less choices of grocery stores and banks they would bus to, club house closed to the residents so they could rent it to out side people, the club house hours were cut, and the little cart that would pick you up to take you to the club house was cut, etc. But the rent kept going up. Then they maxed the rent increase AND then started charging extra for trash removal and water in order to get more. The following year they included a rent instance as well. While still cutting the amenities even further. Maintenance? Days before they would replace burned out light bulbs and they might change the air filters twice a year. Office staff? Don't believe there is any. You call and no answer. You leave a message and no on calls you back. If you are 55+ or thinking of having your parents live there...DON'T. Save you're money and go to a regular complex where there are the same lack of amenities as at Destinations Alexander. read more

I love living here at Destinations. I know that we will soon be with our friends after this pandemic had run its course and I hope all my neighbors are healthy. The other day my microwave died and I put in a maintenance Victor and Efrain knocked on our door and they replaced it with a used, but very working microwave. They were friendly, quick and neat! A few days later the handle on the faucet in my bathroom fell apart in my hand (I'm obviously not the first tenant!) Again, I put in another maintenance order and the day after they came and replaced the entire fixture. Again, very friendly, quick and left no mess. When you live in an apartment it's important that maintenance problems are taken care as quickly as possible. It shows that management cares about its tenants. read more

I posted this on Facebook, Monday September 25, 2017. Just want to know why there are no notifications to residents when there are changes made to the activities calendar. I went this morning to partake in the water fitness class at 9 am as it is listed. No instructor. Only one other resident showed up. I went into the office to find out what happened and was told that Cathy Anderson, the activities director, is responsible for letting residents know of changes. Also, we were not notified that Saturday Bingo was cancelled. We found out by one of our friends telling us. I understand that the club house is closed for renovations, but you need to send text or email to let all residents to let them know when there is anything changing, cancellations or anything else going on. Kathy Anderson road by our apartment on Tuesday while we were sitting out and asked up to let anyone we knew that was signed up for the Wednesday Party that it will be cancelled but the party on Friday was on. We told four couples that we knew. We received a text at 6:15 pm on Wednesday night from one of those couples that the party was on. We had made other plans, since we thought the party was cancelled. We were not notified so we were not able to attend. I am not sure if Cathy had her days mixed up, but I still feel that as a resident I am not being informed of any changes. We received a text message yesterday from Candace, the manager, that the party on Friday will be cancelled did not mention the Wednesday Party. read more

My husband Lenny and I have been residents here for a few years. The manager Candace is very professional and helpful. She treats us like people not just tenants. I find the grounds to be clean and more like a neighborhood than an apartment community. Jesus and the other maintenance guys are also very helpful and responsive. Went into office to ask to please explain why my father was being charged so much on his last month JAJAIRA CORDERO was completely rude/hostile/argumentive would not listen to as what I needed to be explained. She started yelling/cursing and being very uprofessional. She claimed my father did not sign a renewal lease that he had till 1/23/22 to do so, and that's why he was charged an additional 500.00 for his last month. When I pointed out why would he sign a renewal lease ( which he never got,Because they put them on the doors of our seniors, which we know vegas wind. It most likely flew away) My father signed a notice to vacate on 01/7/22 so again I asked why would he sign/respond to a renewal lease by 01/23 when he already signed and gave a notice to vacate. She was not making any sense and when I asked for corporates number she said she didn't have it. It's our legal right to have it. Jajaira then become more aggressive and hostile and threatened to call the cops om my father and I all because I would not allow her to talk to us thus way. The other person in the office Alexis I believe was her name just stood there as things just escalated. At 9ne point things had seemed to calm down when I was talking to the other lady but once again Jajaira rudely interrupted our conversation and got hostile with me again when it was not her place. JAJAIRA obviously has seem deep ingrained issues and should not be representing Desination Alexander or Grey Star seniors. Is this how our Seniors and family members should be treated? You guys really need to work on who you employee and have represent you. read more

Have lived here a few weeks and am moving at end of this month. Was threatened, intimidated and harassed by Community Manager in raised voice in front of other senior residents 3 times in 1 day. Maintenance staff are wonderful, residents are warm and caring. Management staff are abusive to residents. Horrible experience. read more

We moved in about two weeks ago on April 1st, 2017 and so far so good. The sales staff is pleasant and responsive. The property is very clean and maintained well. We hear there will be some upgrades so looking forward to that. The only less than good comment is getting the maintenance department to respond when things are not working as expected. We had to literally call, send emails and go down in person to get them to come out and begin repairs. We will see if that improves with new owners. read more

Don't sign anything! This place is a rip off for seniors and the disabled. Renters beware! The new office workers are rude and abusive to the elderly. People have overheard them treating disabled people badly. The first week we were here the washer and dryer broke down. The closet fell apart in the middle of the night etc. That's the good part. When we moved here they told us that they only had a 10 month lease. A few months before we were moving we called the office to let them know. The girl that answered said thank you. We asked if we needed to come and sign anything. She said no, she'll write it down. About 45 days before we were moving we got a call from a really nasty woman in the office yelling "You have to stay 11 months or we'll make you pay for the entire year"! The renters here got together and called the news stations, but they said that they've had complaints before this and will be paying them a visit also will be exposing Destinations after the virus clears. They also tried to charge us an extra $50.00 for parking. They must be pocketing the money without the owners knowing it. Who would hire abusive people who dislike seniors to work in a place for older renters? Save yourself money and find a nice place to live in Lad Vegas read more

They are really nice until they get their money. Then management is just downright rude. My mother and father are 87 and weren't felling well on move in day. They won't give you the keys until your appointment even though your paying rent for that whole day you can't get keys until after 11 am. Or later depending on your appointment time. They made me make repeated trips to go get her to sign documents even though I told them to have her sign everything the first trip so she could go home to rest. They expect you to unload your heavy furniture from the uncovered parking which is several buildings over. They harassed and threatened the whole 4 day move in then stole the direct tv disk stating it's not allowed unless your grandfathered in. The leasing agent said she could get Cox or direct tv then they said you can't get Direct TV after we had it installed. I was unloading my handicapped father and his scooter as close to the ramp to the apartment since he has Parkinson's Disease and is very shaky and manager started screaming at me to move Immediately even though I wasn't blocking anyone at the time. There are no handicapped parking spots for him which is required by law. They would not give a reasonable accommodation to allow me to unload him where he could get access to his home. He served in 2 wars with PTSD and has a service dog. They are requiring him to get a doctor letter to prove the dog is for emotional support which he can't get for another two weeks because it's hard to get an appointment. In the meantime they are being charged extra $350 plus $25 month until he can prove it. Their account shows a balance of over $700 as of today even though everything was paid when they signed the lease documents and received keys two days ago. Don't move into this place you will regret it. It's a nightmare once you sign on the dotted line. read more

when we first moved in we were having a lot of activities and it was really nice. then things changed. places are getting broke into and we have no security. we have a hot tub that hasn't worked since we moved in. the activities aren't like they were. they say we can't push two tables together for all our friends to sit at. the manager wont hold a community meeting the place is clean and the maintance men are great about getting things fixed. the other problem is the rent keeps going up and people are moving out. there were nine places this month alone that people left. i sure hope things change because pretty soon no one will be living here read more

The community seems really nice, but the administration/management is poor. Trying to rent an apartment was a disaster, no personal involvement. I have perfect credit and was declined, with no discussion about why. When asking for a manager to speak to me, they would not put me through. They took my money quickly and now say I should get it back in a month or so. The worst experience ever. Do Not Rent Here. read more

They promise you the world when u first come in to rent , all maintenance done by them , so all things wrong with the apartment were promised to be fixed by the time we moved in a month later , needless to say it has not happened and we are talking 2 and a half months now to just paint a screen door, fix closet doors which are too short for plastic guard , porch light went out and no sign of anyone attempting to fix it , so things that were supposed to be taken care of 2 and a half months ago are still not fixed , their standard answer to everything is " we will put it on the work order for when they get to it" apparently nothing will be fixed for at least 6 months if we are lucky , all you hear are stories not to mention high turn over of personnel and in complete chaos. Do not buy into the hype of how wonderful it is , trust me it's not , just lots of lip service , had I known or read a review like this I would have never rented here, add to that the fact that you can't even get a phone number for the parent company which I will pursue till I find it and you can come to your own conclusions. read more
