Damage to my vehicle (rear-ending)

This is my family's second time coming to Detroit Auto Body. The first time was for my sister's RAV4 that was hit on the front side. Just like my sister, I had a wonderful experience. I got rear ended on May 6th. Progressive asked me what shop I'd like to take my car too and I knew immediately I had to come here. Randy was a joy to work with. He did his best to take care of me and my car despite me being rattled and sad from my accident. Randy explained the whole process and he also kept me up to date with all procedures. He gave me a finish date and it ended up being finished early! My car looks better than when it went in! I had an issue with a brake light as I was driving but Randy was amazing to fix it before I left. I was shown pictures of the damage inside my vehicle and the process of painting/color matching the car. I love this place. The shop is clean, everyone is profession and they know that most likely you're shaken up, so they are patient with you. I love the ease of how they work closely with my insurance--Progressive. Overall I had the best experience I could ask for at Detroit Auto Body. I highly recommend this shop!

Had a DUI person hit the front of my vehicle. The deductible is $500 so might as well take it to a reputable facility. Took it here for repair. Thanks Larry and Elvis (et al) for the great professional service and all the employees who worked on my vehicle.

I suffered a car accident at work about a month ago. My insurance sent the car to this body shop. From the moment that I called, Randy, the representative, was friendly and very approachable. I happened to call the morning after for an estimated pick up time for my car and he definitely had that taken care of in a jiffy and my car was picked up an hour after. Every week I received an update on the status of my car and the parts. Thank you Randy for great customer service and for helping this girl stay calm through this whole process. All workers there seem so friendly and look like they care about their work. Definitely recommend this body shop for your auto repairs!

So after getting home and really looking at my front bumper I'm pretty disappointed, there's a space like to much of a gap between my front bumper and bother left and right fenders like they didn't put it on correctly I can literally put my finger in it and that was never like that .... Idk what's genna happen due to the fact it was through a insurance policy but I guess ima have to discuss it over with my insurance company ...

My car was side swiped. Damage wasn't that bad but I just purchased vehicle 6 months prior to accident. Couldn't decide where to get it fixed because this is a first for me. So glad I went with DETRIOT auto body! Dropped vehicle off, staff was super helpful and kind. Car was scheduled to be picked up 3 days later, it was fixed the next day. Looks awesome! Great work, loved how my car looked like nothing happened to it. If you're looking for somewhere to get body work on your car whether it's minor, this is the place to go. Super happy everything came out great.

Great fast and friendly service. Judy helped me through the process of getting my car repaired and their team did an excellent job. They even washed my car inside out which was a lovely perk. They called the enterprise on my behalf to pick me up and answered all the questions I had. Definitely recommend to anyone going through the process of getting repairs done. Our family's Ford Explorer required a water pump replacement…read more I visited several local auto shops to obtain quotes and was shocked, disappointed, and discouraged at the prices I was being quoted for the work my vehicle required ($5,000-$7,500) Shame on me for not reading Yelp reviews before wasting my time visiting other auto shops. I read the many positive reviews for Hye-Tech Auto Repair and decided to visit them. Upon entering, I was greeted by John (owner) with a friendly, "Welcome, how may I help you?" I explained that my Ford Explorer needed a new water pump and a few other items that other auto shops had advised me would require repair or replacement. While John looked up a few items on the computer to provide me with a quote, he introduced me to his son, Harry, who happened to be in the office. Thirty seconds later, John provided a quote that was $3,500-$4,000 less than the other shops. I could not believe it. John explained that he makes his living and succeeds in his business through repeat customers, and he does not believe in gouging customers for every last penny. He also shared that when he retires, his son Harry will take over the business, and he wants to leave Harry with a solid foundation of loyal repeat customers. It was then that I knew I could trust John and his son Harry. John went on to explain that replacing the water pump on a Ford Explorer was a 10-12 hour job, as it was an internal pump requiring numerous engine parts to be removed to reach it. This was the same thing all the other shops advised me. John suggested that I leave my vehicle, and he would perform a full inspection of the engine and contact me before doing anything to it. I agreed and left my vehicle. The following day, I was contacted by John, who advised me that the water pump did indeed need to be replaced, as it was the source of the constant leaks of the water coolant. I left my vehicle in John's shop for three days. During this time, John or his son, Harry, contacted me numerous times to keep me updated on the progress of my vehicle and also to point out that mechanics had discovered two or three very inexpensive items (under $50.00) which they recommended replacing, which I agreed to have done. All in all, I was and am extremely impressed and satisfied with everything about this shop. I spent much less money to have five different issues repaired on my vehicle at Hye-Tech than what I was quoted to replace my water pump alone by every single shop I visited prior to coming to Hye-Tech. John and Harry are very friendly, honest, and trustworthy. They are also very knowledgeable and experienced, and they offer GREAT customer service and communication. This is my new go-to shop for any issues involving our family vehicles. Thank you, Hye-Tech Auto Repair, for a very positive experience.

I opened a Yelp project to try to get my transmission serviced. The dealership wanted to charge me…read more$1300 for this service. Yelp projects are one of the best things I've ever experienced. It's nice to see you can get quotes at the touch of a button on your phone. This morning, I had time off, so I headed in to get my service done. I did not have an appointment and that did not seem to matter. I arrived first thing in the morning at 8 AM and ask if the service could be done. Harry was an exceptional young man, he took me in with no problems, no questions. He said they could do it this morning. I told him I would have to wait. He had no problem with that either. Prior to bring in the car in this morning, as I said, I used a yelp project and had several people reach out and give me quotes. After looking at all the yelp reviews I decided to give this place a try. I am super happy that I did. This place is a hidden gem, excellence, service, quality, and value for what you receive. There are not very many shops where you could feel comfortable and put your trust in them. As I spent time in the lobby, I was able to see customer service on the phone and customer service entering the facility. Every customer that walked in, seem satisfied and was treated with dignity and respect. I highly recommend this place if you have any automotive questions whatsoever.

Brought my car in, went over some paperwork and was told I'd be contacted once the inspection was complete. Sure enough Matt called me to let me know there were some items found during inspection and which ones needed to be addressed right away. After agreeing to the updated quote they got to work. I came back to the shop prior to being told my car was ready, and I think there may have been a delay in getting parts needed (dropped the car off at 9am, wasn't done until 4pm). Other than that, the quoted price is what I paid, there wasn't any pushing to buy a service that wasn't needed. I will definitely be bringing my car back for the additional work needed.

I requested a quote through Yelp and my request was sent to multiple auto shops. I chose this…read morecompany based on location and called ahead to confirm they could do more than just read basic codes. I had already done my own diagnostics and knew the car was running rich. I had ruled out the upstream O2 sensor, catalytic converter (both new), MAP sensor, and fuel injectors. I explained all of this to Matt before bringing the car in. He assured me they could perform deeper diagnostics with their equipment. After dropping off the car, Matt called and told me they had "confirmed" exactly what I had already told them, and that the next step would be pulling spark plugs--for an additional fee. At that point, I decided to go elsewhere. What I don't understand is why I was still charged the full $85 diagnostic fee, plus a $4 hazardous materials fee and $3 shop supply fee. Plugging a car into a diagnostic scanner does not generate any hazardous waste--no fluids are drained, no chemicals are used, and no parts are replaced. There's nothing about a basic scan that would justify a hazardous materials charge. That kind of fee typically applies when disposing of things like oil, coolant, or other regulated waste, none of which occurred here. In the end, I paid $92, wasted time and gas, and learned nothing new. The most concerning part was Matt admitting he didn't even know spark plugs would need to be checked as part of further diagnosis.

David was involved and checked the car out. I was very nervous about what was going to be found since prior to his taking the car there, I checked his oil level and it was nearly empty! I feared he destroyed the engine. The car was checked out and much to my relief it was determined to be a bad ignition coil! Very reasonable price to repair! I was overjoyed! David also made some other very useful suggestions and recommended we replace the battery, which we did. So why am I taking the time to write this? Simple. I want everyone to know it is so refreshing to find a reputable auto mechanic that will not clean you out with unnecessary repairs, that's why! I highly recommend using them.
