The only food I ate that day was from this restaurant (butter chicken and samosa). The samosas were cold when I got them so it's clear food isn't made fresh and sits out. If you want good food, I highly suggest Detroit Eatery. While browsing yelp, it was the first suggestion for the area. I am usually apprehensive about trying new places, but my wife was super excited to try it. I cannot remember the last time I ate something so quickly. The rice in the lamb and rice platter is cooked to perfection and the lamb itself with the white sauce made it complete. I am contemplating calling to order it again tomorrow because it was truly that good. The location is perfect if you are out for the night in R.O. and it is sure to hit the spot. read more

Detroit Eatery has become my go-to for an inexpensive, tasty, and no-bs lunch.The menu, like the space itself, is small and simple. They do a few items and they do them well. Fast, but not fast food as everything is made to order (warning: they can get a bit heavy handed with the spices but are happy to adjust for sensitive tummies). I'm addicted to the veggie burgers and fries but allowed myself today to be talked into trying the NY Style Gyro and Rice platter with chicken- delicious! Adding a pita would have made it perfect (which I was kind of expecting given that it's called a gyro, but not a deal breaker). Portions are generous but save room for the mango lassi and the milk cake. This corner has seen a few restaurants come and go in a relatively short time. We may finally have a winner. read more

I placed the order by phone at 7:39 pm and was told 20 minutes. I arrived to the window at about 8:20pm and was told 5 more minutes. The order was given to me minus two items that I requested and I returned to the window and asked for the side of Biriyani rice and veggie samosa. That was a mistake, I should have left bad enough alone. The Chili garlic with shrimp was obviously thrown together with clumps of dry white rice and lots red sauce and peppers with very little shrimp, hot but no flavor. The vegie samosa were brittle dry and tasteless, and the so called biryani rice was nothing but dry tasteless yellow rice absent of any flavor or season at all. Someone worked very hard to establish this place as a popular eatery in the beginning, because I know full well they didn't get popular serving food like this! I am not one to throw food out, but best the place for all this dry tasteless severely over cooked, AND -nothing but rice -stuff is the trash. read more

We were greeted by ismeal (probly spelling this wrong) who was awesome! He expained the menue and suggested we get the Ny style gyro and chicken rice platter. We were gonna get 1 meal and split it since we weren't sure about the taste, but before we could order he asked if we would like a sample. This dish was soooo delicious and full of flavor. The best food here. I always get the New York Style rice platter with lamb and chicken. It's honestly addicting. You can't beat it. The wings are also good. I ordered the chicken gyro rice platter through postmates last night and got extremely sick later that night. It was either food poisoning or inadequately cooked meat. Was throwing up all night. This review is for take out. I ordered 8 piece chicken wings, lamb gyro, and fried rice. I feel like if you're really starving then these are as good as is get especially if you want some late night food around midnight otherwise it's meh. The chicken wings were pretty bland. Lamb gyro wasn't spicy even though I specifically put in the note in all cap EXTRA SPICY. The only thing I liked was the fried rice. Liked it doesn't mean it's the best I've ever had, it simply the best thing I got from my ordered but compared to typical fried rice you get from Thai restaurant. This one is sub par period. Also they fucked up the mango lassi. I mean how is it possible cause I've never had any restaurant fucked up my mango lassi before. The flavor just wasn't strong. Omg I thought it was gonna be good so I ordered 2. I normally can finish both after my meal. Now I've both of them just standing there looking into the horizon like nobody want you lmao.
