    Chicken Shawarma Sandwich

I tried the chicken shawarma here. Tbh I was expecting a soft pita bread where my bite would go straight through with ease but it was moreso on the chewy side. It was a real mouth workout haha. The chicken inside was fresh and good but I think the pita bread needs some work. It's well priced at 5.99 for the size of it so I wasn't too disappointed. The staff are friendly and will help with recommendations if you can't choose. Overall okay, I would try other items on the list later on because the quantity of food looks a lot more with the other options but I wouldn't try the chicken shawarma again unless I know the bread is softer. Parking close and nearby, inside seating looked average to me. Grocery store next to it so you can get your groceries in after a meal. Nice location.

I'm so torn on this place that I loved so much. My love experience was limited to the hot bread, fried kibbee and the chicken fatoosh. All great with a twist on flavor since everyone has their own recipe. However, today I ordered a delivery and I give it 1 star. $19for lamb & hummus, $19 for beef sautee, $6 cheese sticks, $6 grilled veggies (all mushrooms) and $3 for 1/2 dz bread. There was no garlic sent with the entrees or the hot bread. The bread was a jaw breaker to chew and not even warm. The lamb and beef were like jerky strips. Unsure what sauce the used for the lemon, garlic cilantro as described for the beef sauté but it resembled more of a salty zip sauce. The fries that we ordered with it were smothered in a seasoning salt type topping. All of these hard strong salty flavors were beyond horrible. $70 of trash and it was hard enough to convince myself it was worth it. I won't be back but that doesn't mean this doesn't suit your flavor pallet.

Ordered the chicken wing appetizer, it was not sautéed in garlic and lemon juice. Side of fries was not the same as the fries in pictures, assuming they ran out of the good frozen fries and settled for something less which is disappointing. The gallayah sandwich was quite good, had good flavor would of been perfect if they included a side of ranch oufff. Overall, would of just went to coney island if I knew I would get wing dings with sad fries... and could of just got a gyro for a fraction of the total.

Stopped by Madison Heights Royal Grill when I happened to be in the Clawson/ Madison Heights area one day, and I'm glad I did! This place seems to be a lesser known restaurant in the area, but in reality it's a hidden gem. It's located in a corner of a strip mall, but there's plenty of parking and it's easy to get to. My friends and I stopped by on a Saturday afternoon and there was plenty of space inside and we were served very quickly. The waitstaff was very knowledgeable about their products and can help with any questions easily. We got our food very quickly, and it tasted fresh, authentic, and overall great! Keto/ Low Carb folks: it's easy to get a Keto meal here, and they're happy to substitute grilled vegetables for rice/ fries, so definitely check it out!

Hidden gem tucked away in a retail plaza you would never know they are there. We had a wonderful work lunch with a large group of people. Everything came out fresh and delicious! Everything from the lentil soup to the garlic dip to the lamb chops tasted amazing! Quick friendly service & delicious fresh food.

As such, there was a plethora of excellent restaurants to select from offering Middle Eastern cuisine, one of the best of which was Asya. As is my penchant, when visiting a new city I pop open my trusty Yelp app for places to try and Asya was one of the first recommendations; it doesn't hurt that some of the locals also said they serve up tasty food. Located in a strip mall off the intersection of a busy road, the parking lot is tight, so if there are no spots directly in front of the restaurants, there is more availability off to the side. I stopped by a few times while I was in town, and Asya does a brisk take-out business, especially during the predictable lunch and dinner hours. I dined in both times, so I could enjoy my meal hot and "fresh from the kitchen." The interior is fairly nondescript with tile flooring, black tables/chair combos, and a neutral color palate. But because the dining room is "cozy," it can definitely get loud with just a few tables of hungry diners. The service and hospitality are superior, as to be expected from a family run establishment. I was always greeted with a warm smile and even after just a few visits, the staff seemed to recognize me. I really like the fact that for most of their entrees, you can order either a lunch or dinner portion. The shish kafta was an AMAZING deal at $12.99 at lunch. In addition to the main dish, it is served with either a salad or soup. I opted for the lentil soup, and it was tasty. Soft lentils were stewed in a creamy base and served with a bowl of individually wrapped pita slices. Honestly, I was already getting a bit full after just the soup course. Then the generous portion of the shish kafta arrived and I could only finish 1/2 of the plate, before taking the remaining portion home for dinner. The skewered meat patties were nicely seasoned with grated yellow onion, garlic, parsley, finely chopped mint, salt/black pepper, Sumac, cinnamon, as well as other spices. They were grilled just enough to have a nice char on the exterior, yet still remain moist. Instead of French Fries, I opted to have the yellow rice which was perfect for making mini-sandwiches with the leftover pita slices from my soup. To finish the meal, I had a few pieces of the house made baklava, which was flaky and not too sweet; perfect with my afternoon coffee. On another occasion, I also got the chicken shawarma, which again, was a bargain at $6.50 (before tax) and super filling with a side of fries. There are also many good Middle Eastern restaurants in the DC area, but not the variety of "mom and pop" places like Asya and definitely not at their price point and value.

Good food fresh. Great customer service, stopped in for lunch . Will visit again soon!!!read more

We ordered chicken shawarma sandwich, chicken ghallaba(made it spicy), mango lassi, and their castle smoothie. They gave me a tone of chicken in my ghallaba. I do think I've had better hommous and garlic sauce and bread because I've had it fresh at a sit down restaurant. But the meals were good enough to come back to. Presentation was beautiful. We recommend it and will be going back. The guy in the front was patient with us and another was kind and gave us our food. It's very clean in there and you can tell they care about this business. The chicken and garlic sauce were both good, although it's hard to mess up garlic sauce! The rice had a flavor of nutmeg or something and there were NO pickled veggies. Instead, I got two things slices of cucumber, which were good because I love veggies! The salad dressing was reminiscent of apple cider. Not a fan and I'm sure I won't be going back. I miss the old place!! Looks like I'm stuck with Boff's which is further away, but worth it.
