I tried the chicken shawarma here. Tbh I was expecting a soft pita bread where my bite would go straight through with ease but it was moreso on the chewy side. It was a real mouth workout haha. The chicken inside was fresh and good but I think the pita bread needs some work. It's well priced at 5.99 for the size of it so I wasn't too disappointed. The staff are friendly and will help with recommendations if you can't choose. Overall okay, I would try other items on the list later on because the quantity of food looks a lot more with the other options but I wouldn't try the chicken shawarma again unless I know the bread is softer. While the food is excellent, I just picked up a carryout and was disappointed. I ordered a quart of soup and received a bowl. I also ordered a dozen bread and received 2 pieces of pita folded. I called the restaurant and they were not accommodating at all. The response I received was "well, I don't know what to tell you". Extremely poor customer service. So disappointed. I'm so torn on this place that I loved so much. My love experience was limited to the hot bread, fried kibbee and the chicken fatoosh. All great with a twist on flavor since everyone has their own recipe. However, today I ordered a delivery and I give it 1 star. $19for lamb & hummus, $19 for beef sautee, $6 cheese sticks, $6 grilled veggies (all mushrooms) and $3 for 1/2 dz bread. There was no garlic sent with the entrees or the hot bread. The bread was a jaw breaker to chew and not even warm. The lamb and beef were like jerky strips. Unsure what sauce the used for the lemon, garlic cilantro as described for the beef sauté but it resembled more of a salty zip sauce. The fries that we ordered with it were smothered in a seasoning salt type topping. All of these hard strong salty flavors were beyond horrible. $70 of trash and it was hard enough to convince myself it was worth it. I even found a smoked joint half lit sitting on one of their dining tables as I waited for my food. I told the front lady and she just laughed and removed it. 2. The old dirty man cooking the food loves to watch the window for people who park in their parking. Today I was parked before coming in for chicken and the man stared me down u til he came up to my window to tell me to find a new spot and to not park again or I'll get towed. This place seems to be a lesser known restaurant in the area, but in reality it's a hidden gem. It's located in a corner of a strip mall, but there's plenty of parking and it's easy to get to. My friends and I stopped by on a Saturday afternoon and there was plenty of space inside and we were served very quickly. The waitstaff was very knowledgeable about their products and can help with any questions easily. We got our food very quickly, and it tasted fresh, authentic, and overall great! We ordered from Royal Grill tonight using the online ordering feature within Yelp. Once the order was submitted, a message is displayed that says "waiting for order confirmation from the restaurant ". That status remained for 30 minutes without changing, so I called the restaurant where the call rang five times before going to voicemail. The voicemail message doesn't even identify the business, it just says "please leave a message". I assumed the restaurant was closed, so I just hung up. They called me back after a few minutes and after I asked about my online order, they said it was ready. I showed up, and the restaurant was dark and vacant with only two employees. A guy sitting in a booth playing on his phone hollered to the back where a woman came out with her hands dripping of dish soap bubbles. She grabbed our order and handed it to me saying I was all set. (I paid using Apple Pay online). I brought it home, only to find the order was mostly incorrect. I double checked my digital receipt and verified that we ordered correctly. We figured, we might as well eat it, it's not worth the trouble to return it. The food was cold and bland. The rice looked and tasted like instant rice. The bread was super chewy, like it was days old. The chicken also tasted like it was reheated in a microwave. The Chicken Lemon Rice Soup we ordered, turned out to be Crushed Lentil. Even being wrong, it was probably the only decent food item we received. Lesson learned. We won't be back. read more

We had waters on our table quickly. We ordered the Royal grill vegetarian platter, after realizing we wanted all of the items on the platter a la carte, but replaced the stuffed cabbage with veggie grape leaves since they were out of stuffed cabbage today. My hubby ordered the chicken shawarma plate. The owner stopped by to chat with us, the place has been here for over a year but he took it over recently. He brought out some fresh Pita pockets after asking us our preference for the oven Pita or the standard big pitas. We of course took the oven Pita any day of the week. I like the sesame on the pita pockets, it adds a nice texture and I actually do like their garlic butter, it has a bit of tartness to it and I don't usually the garlic butter, only person that's not in love with it. The crushed lentil was yummy and piping hot. The hummus is super smooth and tasty, the baba ghanouj is smoky and super flavorful. The waitress was pleasant and the owner is really very friendly and attentive. The cook/chef was cooking up a mad frenzy of tantalizing yum in the kitchen. The royal vegetarian is an unbelievable amount of food. My hubby laughed as all of the plates on the table were part of the platter when he only had his crushed lentil, his white chicken meat shawarma was a couple of minutes behind. He loves and prefers white meat over the mix or dark meat at many places. The grape leaves are decent as are the falafel. The grilled veggies are nicely grilled and a nice accompaniment to the grape leaves and the falafel. My hubby liked the white meat in his shawarma and found the shawarma dish tasty and oh so filling. My family just left Royal Grill after a very confusing encounter, we were very indecisive and obviously did not know what we were getting into. In the end we decided we were going to leave after appetizers because we were actually in search of breakfast food. We were in the plaza about to order sushi gallery when we decided to get royal grill instead.. and THANK GOD we did! We got the combo tray for 2 which comes with a TON on food. Every single item was DELICIOUS, I mean from the chicken lemon rice to the fattoush to the lamb kabob down to even the baklava( not included in the combination plate). Hummus, lg. falafel, lg. Greek fattoush salad (not on the menu but they make it for us anyways) fries, a chicken shwarma and a bowl of crushed lentils. This was a ton of food at Royal grill, the hummus was creamy and tasty the falael was cooked very good crunchy on the outside with a good flavor, the shwarma was a good size and tasty and the crushed lentils soup had a great flavor with a little spice kick. All in all everything was good no complaints and this was another successful Mediterranean meal. When in the area looking for a good shwarma and hummus we will be back. read more

Missed breakfast! Moving to "brunch" on raining Sunday. I was in the mood for Middle East meal and found this place nearby. I ordered "Lunch Special" for $8.99 that includes a sandwich plus side and soft drink. I had hot tea instead soft drink. This has always been a favorite for my boyfriend and I, and we have been regulars here for a couple years now. I'm sorry to say that while we may come back again, we will be looking for a new place for middle eastern food. There has been a change in ownership in the last month or so, and while the new staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming, the food just isn't as good as it used to be. Tonight's visit was the second since the change, and it has definitely gone from being the best place around to average at best. My boyfriend loves his lamb, and nearly always gets the lamb chops, although tonight he got a shawarma combo. He said the chicken was ok, but it was nothing special, and his lamb, like it was last week, was good, but as good as it was before. My usual lentil soup, always absolutely delicious before, is now incredibly bland. I swear I saw noodles in it, and there was some weird textured bits in it, like someone had added lentils to a chicken noodle soup base, and then ran it through a blender. It wasn't terrible, but it definitely wasn't up to par with anything I've been served at any middle eastern restaurant before. The chicken on my fattoush salad had a bizarre texture to it, but tasted just fine. It was sort of squishy and sort of rubbery, like it had been frozen and not properly thawed before cooking. It looked like it had been sliced with the dullest knife they could find. It was a little bit of a mess when the waitress brought it out to me. We both ordered the mint tea, and it definitely wasn't right. The first sip or two was good, but after that there was a bad taste to it. The generous portions of garlic sauce are gone. We specifically asked for extra but the waitress brought out just a tiny little cup with my boyfriend's entree, long after we'd had our bread. We both got our salads at the same time... only mine was my entree and his was a starter. All in all it wasn't a bad experience, but the quality we are used to just doesn't seem to be there anymore. With the number or places in the area, there really isn't any reason to keep making the drive out to this one. read more
