One day, I stumbled upon The Farm Stand, and it felt like discovering a hidden treasure. It is, without question, one of the best farm stand experiences I've ever had, and I've been to a lot of them. Jim could probably sell anything, but that's because he's genuinely passionate about what he does. He curates only the very best, though truthfully, the produce and goods largely sell themselves. What sets this place apart is the care behind it. The attention, the pride, the hospitality - all the things that feel like they're are waning from our country. We've become so accustomed to transactional experiences and mediocre service that they've almost become the norm. Then you encounter a place like this and realize what you've been missing. It's like waking up from a fever dream and wondering, "Why isn't everything this good?" I now drive from Sebastopol to visit The Farm Stand regularly. Not just for the incredible food, but for the experience itself. It's a reminder that places built with intention, passion, and genuine human connection still exist. And somehow, that nourishes something much bigger than an appetite!!!

Only after arriving at our campsite, I discovered that the peaches were both incredibly firm and completely unedible. Our nectarines, however were not firm but had rot in every single one of them. Don't fall for their lies and just go to Good Earth in Fairfax instead.

The quality is always on point (you get what you pay for) and the process is easy to preorder. The main thing to plan for is the long wait in line to pick up your preorder. In prior years, I've usually picked up on Christmas Eve and the wait can exceed 90 mins to 2 hours depending on when you arrive - this is the case even when you doorbust at opening time. This year, we picked up on the 23rd and arrived around opening time, and it only took 30 minutes. There are also very high quality pantry goods to peruse and purchase, including pasta, mustards, spices, tinned goods, etc. Onto the meat: I preordered late this year so got 21 day aged prime rib roast (would usually aim for 45+ days), but honestly it was hard to tell the difference. I ordered the roast pre seasoned, cradled and tied for ease and it was very high quality, easy to cook and delicious. Shoutout to the very friendly and hardworking staff at Olivier's - I see yall fighting for your lives trying to control that line every year (lol). Thank you for your service!

As you walk in, you are welcomed by two butchers behind the counter. There are 3 glass counters that stored the following meat options: beef, lamb, Wagyu, and chicken. I decided to go with ribeye and I am so glad that I did! The steak was so tender. There was a slight taste of gamiest as you take your first bite. Manager hear me out first (lol). IT IS A GOOD THING! With most commercial beef that you buy at major grocery stores, the beef either has no natural flavor so you basically have to pour a huge bottle of A1 sauce! Not this one. I only flavored it with a tad of kosher salt and pepper. It was a hit at home! The ribeye was so tender and tasty! If you are in the area of Hayward and looking for some great meat, go check them out and let me know your experience there. I now know where to go pickup my holiday meats! Let's go and support our communities small businesses!!

Also I am fully aware of how busy it was, so honestly I didn't know or feel a simple phone call would have resolved anything. The experience won't prevent me from spending my money at Mayar in the future, but will remind me to be more mindful. You have a nice day also sir
