From the reviews a lot of people are upset with the lodging and summer accommodations. However, this ski resort really does deserve 5 stars. Super close to the Wisconsin Dells, beautfiul scenery, tons of restaurants and other ski resorts if you want to make a couple day trip out of it. There's multiple bars and restaurants at the resort along with lots of hills, mostly black diamonds and blue squares. Best part about this place is even on the weekends it's not terribly busy like Cascade. So much fun and highly reccomend.

Devils Head is my favorite place to go snowboarding in the Midwest. It's beautiful, when it's ready to go with snow it's super fun, good runs that's wind around here and there so it feels a lot bigger then it is, good terrain, there's some fun places to pop into the trees here and there. The staff has always been some of the nicest resort staff. I will be taking my cousin here this season hopefully, once he gets a little better so he can really enjoy himself here, this is a place that's a lot of fun to go fast!

I am reviewing just a restaurant and a ski path. The restaurant/snack bar was ok, it was full at the time we came. The burgers were really good and service was decent. I saw the pizza looks great but didn't try it. Ski paths are short. You need 10 min to get to the top and then literally 2 minutes to go down. It is nice for beginners and for people learning how to ski.

This review is strictly limited to golfing. Today I golfed 18 holes on the Glacier course. I had read that it is routinely in the top golf courses in Wisconsin and was excited to try it. The course is set in a beautiful location with a lot of wildlife all around (saw a deer run across home 16 today). Some of the holes were well maintained but some others were awful. See pictures. One par three they left a lawn mower just to the right of the green. I almost hit it off the tee. There was also large coils of drainage hose on that hole. Other holes had large amounts of water in their sand traps and the water had been there long enough for a large (several hundred) tadpoles to be swimming in it. Some of the greens only had grass growing on half of the green. It was weird. See more pictures below. The plus side of things was that I was the ONLY golfer on the course which was awesome!

Not much C-19 distancing protocol and the resort looks tired fro 1970... and as a previous "never ever" skied before... I can only make the following suggestion. GO Ski... we paid for lessons, got VIP treatment as Virgin Skiers with out pretense, and by the end of the day... we were skiing the blue ski runs confidently. I don't know if everyone feels an out of body elation when successfully doing something as terrifying as we were... but I can say this place and the amount and proximity of lifts etc makes for great day in Wisconsin mountains. Big Fun and worth trip and admission.

We were given a room that was literally covered in black mold. Even the lamp shade had mold on it. I've never seen a room or place like this. I have stayed in nicer Motel 8. They gave me a different room but in the same bldg. the entire bldg had water damage. It was horrible. We were forced to stay there cause there wasn't anywhere else in the area. I walked the resort and feel like this enter place is a health hazard. Even the lobby smells musty like mildew. The health dept needs to get involved. I wouldn't never recommend or stay here ever again. I'm starting to feel the effects of breathing in the mold. This place is falling apart. Horrible

We received the food fairly quickly. We ordered the fish fry with Mac and cheese and elote. The fish was amazing! Super crispy and fresh. They had a couple preparation options to choose from. The Mac and cheese was creamy and tasty however I wish they advertised it as spicy. Maybe I missed that but I was surprised it was! The elote was also pretty good. It was served with a roll and coleslaw. Plenty of food for the price! I would eat a fish fry here again!!

Being conveniently located from Madison makes it more easier to visit and practice, especially during the weekday when there are different specials going on! Parking is good with a overflow parking right across the street. Also to note, service is spotty there. I always rent equipment and have never had any big issues. Quality and upkeep is pretty good. The prices can get high on the weekends, but usually specials on the weekdays. This resort has no frills and extra fancy things, just a spot to do some shredding. The lodge is very snack and like stadium food setting. I will say depending on the season and snow trend, the slopes can get pretty icy, but overall the hills are well maintained. The 'beginners' slope is pretty good for practicing and you can get up and down fast with the conveyor belt railing. The trails in general are on the shorter side but are still challenging and diverse for all levels.

The exterior is reminiscent of umpteen dozen places in Montana that I've been to. The interior is Pure North of Hwy 8 rusticness...log walls, antlers, mounted fish, etc. for decor. Five stars for that. But...here's where things go wrong. The service is...forgettable at best. The drinks....eh...ok I guess. The food....nope, not again. Uninspiring, barely average, a 'Swanson Salisbury Steak Dinner is calling me' bad. Forgettable fish, frozen green beans, rice from a mix...just so barely average. Can't say that I'll be back. This entire part of the state is filled with places where the level of 'give a shit' is in the toilet. Bodies, going through the motions, no pride in their work, not caring a bit about anything but getting off work so they can get drunk on cheap beer and smoke cigarettes.

One was a bar/restaurant but unfortunately it is closed on Mondays & Tuesdays. The owners have been running this place for 40+ years and we're friendly and welcoming. They loaded up 2 comfortable/like new kayaks, life vests & paddles onto a trailer as we loaded a large van which led us to an easy entry river put-in spot just below the dam. The river was refreshing, crystal clear, and had a lazy current. We saw tons of wildlife, including deer, muskrat, a bald eagle, turtles, and lots of birds. It was a beautiful winding river. We crossed under bridges 6 and 7. The stretch from bridge 7 to 8 was challenging and required much maneuvering around tons of downed trees & tight turns. (I would suggest families take-out at bridge 7, as this stretch was not for the novice!) After around 4 hours on the river, Bridge 8 was in site. It was a bit more challenging taking out there, but the owners were there waiting for us. This was an outstanding trip & we'd do it again & again without hesitation!
