I did not get any pictures of the trading post but here is a picture of devils tower. The trading post has a little place to get a burger, hot dog or a quick snack. They also have t-shorts, souvenirs and etc. Also if you are into aliens this is definitely the place to visit. They have tons of alien items in this shop. Side note across from the street is a restaurant but it is super ma' and pa' style.

Every single kind of Devils Tower memento that you can possibly imagine, from tshirts to hats to bells. Bumperstickers and magnets and models of the mountain (small, medium and large) and of course, postcards. No stamps today, though. For me, the winner was that they were offering a completely free wifi signal. So I sat at one of their benches, used up their wifi to find directions to my next stop, wrote my postcards and enjoyed a frosty beverage before getting back on my way. Plenty of parking and even room for the bigger vehicles. Clean bathroom and the prices are reasonable. While you can stay here and save the $11 or so for entering the park, it's worth the money to get right close to Devils Tower. Don't come all this way and miss the last mile.

Insane price gouging here even for simple things like water. Literally go anywhere else. They don't deserve business.

It was a great place to rest, recoup, get food and recover before moving on to our next stop.

The self-serve beers and wine are charged by the ounce, which is different. But, it allows you to try them all for a little investment and then you get what you like. We weren't hungry so we didn't order food. We enjoyed the beautiful weather and sat outside by the creek. Very enjoyable! We decided to return a couple days later and get the pizza. It was Sunday night so it wasn't crowded at all. The two staff members were great to chat with and hear about their lives, friends and how they ended up in South Dakota. It was a great conversation, and I wish those ladies the best. Oh, the pizza.... Very light crust (artisan) and excellent choices. We got 3 different ones and all were very tasty. This is certainly a spot to visit if you're in the area!

Our waiter seated us immediately, gave us menus and took our drink order. Note: they don't serve alcohol. We had there specialty chicken pot pie and a strawberry salad, both were very good. And we couldn't leave without having a piece of apple pie that was as good as mom's. The service and the food was very good and i would highly recommend the Purple Pie Place. If you just want they have an ice cream shop in front.

Fortunately it moved fairly quickly. Service was efficient and friendly. The decor is pleasant, kind of a purple Victorian farm house feel. I got a slice of the apple pie and the peanut butter pie to go. The apple pie was awesome! Redolent of cinnamon, the filling was fully cooked, full of soft apple-y goodness. The crust was flaky and sweet and might have have sugar and cinnamon baked in the top crust. Delicious! The peanut butter pie was also great. A soft, light peanut butter filling in a flaky crust. Yummy! The apple pie was the star of the show for me this visit. I can't speak to their ice cream or other offerings. But it looks like they offer lots of savory items as well as coffee drinks. The pie here is truly delicious! My friend did not steer me wrong!

After a long day of traveling, we called to place a takeout order about 30 minutes before closing. The employee who took our order, a woman in a green shirt, listened while my sister and I ordered, then let out a loud, frustrated sigh and said, "Ugh... is that it then?" Her tone made it very clear that our order was an inconvenience. When I arrived to pick up and pay, I stood at the counter much longer than I should have, and it became obvious I was being ignored. The woman in the green shirt who had taken our order made eye contact with me multiple times but continued to act as if I wasn't standing there. There were three employees behind the counter, yet none of them acknowledged me. The only person who finally came over to help was a kind woman who had been sweeping on the other side of the restaurant. She stopped what she was doing because no one else would. I have 13 years of waitressing experience, so I completely understand how frustrating last-minute orders before closing can be. However, that's never an excuse to treat paying customers with disrespect. We called before closing, were polite throughout the interaction, and simply expected basic customer service. If taking an order 30 minutes before closing and acknowledging a customer at the counter is too much to ask, then maybe customer service isn't the right fit. Being busy is understandable. Being rude and pretending customers don't exist isn't. Needless to say, we won't be back.

They even have a full bar! This is a sports bar, and they have the cool option to have a half portion of an appetizer instead of fries for a $3 upcharge. My husband was delighted to be able to have fried mushrooms as his side. The kids and husband had milkshakes, and they were made quickly, and everyone loved them. They have a bunch of local beers. I enjoyed my Rapid City made beer and enjoyed a sip of my husband's Spearfish beer. I had a burger, which was perfect. The fries were good. I also had some of my daughter's hot wings. They were meaty and spicy. I loved them, although I wish they had come with celery sticks. Not a big deal, though. The restaurant is decorated with old slot machines, which were fun for the kids to look at while we waited for our food.
