I'm not taking it down entirely because they couldn't explain why their prescription was so different from Lenscrafters. At first, they tried to say LensCrafters doesn't have real eye doctors but I showed him that an OD checked my vision. I had a great experience with Devine Eyes. Great eye doctor and caring eye technician. They let me try colored contacts, which was really fun. I was seen shortly upon my arrival. I had a great time and I paid the extra to not have to have my eyes dilated. It is 100% worth it if you are hoping to go back to work on the same day. This location is super cute and when I need new glasses, I am looking forward to working with them to help me pick out my new lenses and frames. They have a large selection to choose from. The front desk crew was also helpful upon exiting. If you are looking for a new eye care provider, I do recommend this team. read more

I would avoid this place if you can. I was sexually harassed (yes, mind-boggling) by the doctor's assistant, who then insisted that I have my eyes dilated (apparently it's the law, although this has not happened to me at any other eye doctor in my life) or I could pay 30 dollars for imaging. I told him I would do neither, he fought me a little but then allowed me to sign a waiver. So, it IS possible to get out of that if you put your foot down. Had a terrible experience there today. I would not recommend this place for anyone with low vision. They were extremely inflexible and unhelpful. I see my retina specialist (not at this location obviously) at least once a year for imaging/eye health and I only came to Devine Eyes to have my prescription updated. They refused to give the exam without dilation or imaging and wanted to charge extra for imaging. They said I could call my retina specialist and have the images faxed over, but I would have had to reschedule the appointment because I had only 1.5 hours off of work and the office was running 15-20 minutes late. They refused to let me send the images after the exam. They also refused to help call my retina specialist during the exam. This location is probably fine if you have no special needs, but if you are someone with macular degeneration or any other low vision conditions, please don't waste your time here! I recently had my eye exam for glasses and contacts. Both went well. I love my new eyeglasses. And always enjoy shopping there. I also ordered a second pair from a discount website. The Smith eyeglasses with the Hoya lenses surpass the website eyeglasses. With insurance I payed very little for my new eyeglasses. With regard to my contact lens fitting Dr. Pockl discovered my astigmatism in my right eye had changed slightly. With a new axis I am seeing clear as ever. The price of my contacts are comparable to any website so I order them from the doctors office. I highly recommend Devine Eyes for all your eye ware needs. They have prices for all ranges. read more

Very dissatisfied with the eye glasses I purchased. First she overcharged me and my insurance for the overpriced frames, lens progressives and transitions that didn't change to dark in the sun. I tried to get the problem corrected and had to make multiple visits to their office. My insurance company said I was overcharged by $70 but the lady said she was going to fix the problem and give me an upgrade. I don't know what that meant if she charged over $1,100 for a poor grade of glasses and lens. It is a place I do not plan to ever return nor recommend anyone to go there. Also, the ladies behind the desk acted snooty. Be careful after you make a purchase and you get rushed to pick up your glasses and leave. Likely you are being hoodwinked. The eye doctor is professional, affable, and provides excellent service. Unfortunately, I cannot say the same for the glasses and sales side. They damaged my brand new frames while installing lenses, treated me like an idiot for questioning the blatant damage, and essentially wasted my money on glasses I have no interest in wearing now. I waited over a month for a laughable "repair" and was further patronized for my valid concerns when I finally picked them up (after calling multiple times for status updates). Lenscrafters was able to install the lenses in the exact same model of frames years ago *without* the erroneous damage, which I still own. I will not be returning and will resume using mail-order lens services instead. They are much faster and don't patronize me when I have an issue that they caused. I will also have to find a new eye doctor because they have betrayed my trust as a long-time customer. It's a shame because he's a really great guy and set me up with my first contact lenses. read more

This place is amazing. I visited Columbia Eye Clinic and then went to see them to get glasses. Picked out a couple of nice pairs and when they came in they discovered the prescription from Columba Eye was incorrect. They brought me in for an exam which was reasonably priced. They sent the glasses back at no charge to me and had them corrected. The staff particularly Nicole was AWESOME!!! I love my glasses and I can't believe I waited so many years to wear them. I am new to glasses so this was a great start. Now this place is not for everyone they sell quality and great service. If you want a bargain maybe get an exam and then buy your inexpensive glasses online. If you want outstanding quality and service then this place is for you. If you are a WAL-MARTER this is not a solution for your eyes , you will want to go somewhere else. read more

They were probably the best optometrists I have dealt with. However, this is going off on the fact that I've been to Sears (I think), and Wal-mart as my other options. They were really great at explaining the money options so I could factor that in for different tests and for purchasing my glasses and lenses with insurance. They had a nice, peaceful waiting area--probably also due to getting there when they opened. They had pretty good availability for scheduling an eye exam. It wasn't exactly when I wanted since I had to wait a few days, but it was better than the other places I called around Columbia. All three people who helped me were great. Thanks guys! Terrible customer service. Glasses ordered Jan 8th, requested the thin lenses, twice. Glasses came in standard, had to be reordered. Glasses due in Feb 10th. No glasses, no call. I called on the 11th, "will call you". I went back to the store on the 12th, they had to call to track them. No follow up. read more

I had a good experience getting my annual eye exam. I had no wait. The assistant was friendly and efficient. I paid the extra $30 for a special machine that photographs one's retinas to avoid having my eyes dilated (it was worth it). I liked the optometrist because he was honest and didn't try to sell me anything I didn't need. I will definitely go back. read more

This doctor has the entire week off for Thanksgiving. Well goody goody for he or her or it. Meanwhile I'm working out of state and have lost/stolen glasses the Tuesday before Thanksgiving. So I called to have my prescription sent and the nice person at the front counter informed me that the doctor at "divine eyes" only keeps the prescription valid for ONE YEAR instead of the two years that every doctor in the world abides by. Contact Lense prescriptions are good for one year. Eyeglasses typically good for two years. Google it or ask around.... So I asked a nice person at the front desk that perhaps this doctor could make an exception since my eye exam was August 20 20 and it is now November 2021. Nice person at the front desk informed me that the doctor won't be in until Monday or Tuesday of next week. Well that's fine and dandy but one of the reasons you pay extra for an expensive fancy specialty eyeglass optician optometrist is for when shit like this happens. Emergencies! Absolutely terrible experience. Their waiting area smelled of smoke from the two guys working the front desk. Once starting my eye exam & taking my contacts out, they told me it was the 'court of law' to get my eyes dilated once a year. I could either get them physically dilated or pay $30 out of pocked and use Optimap for the this. 1.) it is NOT a US law to get your eyes dilated (I called the board of optometry). 2.) Optimap is not allowed to be used in place of physically dilating your eyes. When you use Optimap, it takes a picture if your eye and they blow it up to see the back of your eye. What you don't know about Optimap is that it only shows 2 quadrants of your eye. Therefore deeming it useless. They wouldn't proceed with my eye exam because I wouldn't get my eyes dilated & I walked out. I will never return. It's one thing if you're genuinely concerned about my eyes & want to do it...but don't lie to me. They have to be making a lot if money through insurance with this. read more

What a wonderful place: they have in my opinion made some needed changes in front desk staff. The staff, techs and doctors are all wonderful right from reception to check out. My waits have been short and the exams quick and thorough. No pressure to fill you eye prescription there but extremely helpful whether you do or not. This is a huge improvement over my last Doctor where I felt I was ask to return for unnecessary followup appointments once an eye condition had already cleared up. I had a very costly and unfortunate experience with Devine Eyes. Three times I had to send my prescription eyeglasses back. Twice they did an eye exam to make sure they would get it right. I still cannot read well with them. I finally gave up, accepted my $400 plus loss, and made an appointment with another optometrist: Dr. Park on Hampton St. I have been wearing progressive lenses for 20 years now. Wow customer service is NOT what I would rate this business. It took nearly 2 full months to get frames and then the prescription was wrong. I had to spend more money to have another exam by their doctor and then again the glasses were not made in a timely manner. I moved and they said they mailed the frame but of course it never arrived. Would not go back or recommend. My R eye changed ... for the better. Yay! No complaints other than it means I'm older and my lens are stiffer. I walked out yesterday with some brand of contact lenses with a -3.0 in my right eye. I normally wear acuvue oasys but they didn't have those available for trial. So .... trial lenses arrived today. Acuvue in a -3.5 and an Optix lens in a -3.0??? I called and was told that different companies make lenses in different strengths? So an Acuvue -3.5 is equal to an Optic -3.0? And "the DOCTOR decided on this and knows what he's doing" with the implied .... so I should just shut up and try them. To my way of thinking .... if I wear acuvue ... and the DOCTOR isn't sure of his own prescription .... maybe I should get a -3.0 and a -3.5 in the brand that I wear. That is .. unless he's pushing another brand. Maybe I'm just crazy but .... I don't think so. Different rx in different brands? How can I compare? read more

I visited Devine Eyes for the first a month or so ago and I was impressed with the staff and the doctor. They had a broad choice of glasses and with my insurance, the exam plus a nice pair of glasses came to a very reasonable price. I let my wife talk me into getting a second pair because the price with insurance was so reasonable (or so I thought). No one told me my insurance would cover almost nothing toward the second pair. My wife picked them up for me and didn't say a word about the price (she doesn't think several hundred dollars - more than $500 but less than $1,000) is outrageous for a pair of what are reading glasses for me). I would never have bought a second pair if I knew they would cost 300% more than the first pair. As soon as I saw the receipt I went to Divine Eyes web site to look up their return and refund policy. Which was not on their website (assuming they have such a policy). I will be heading down to the store tomorrow though. Only a sucker would knowingly pay what I was charged for a pair of reading glasses and while I accept I should have taken the time to better understand my insurance, I still think the salesperson should have mentioned the difference I would pay between two identical pairs of glasses. read more

Very frustrating experience. Bottom line is the doctors are nice but the receptionist/office manager is NOT. She is rude to customers and coworkers. In my 2+ hrs waiting in the office, I got to see her being rude to other customers and her coworkers. The office made several mistakes with our insurance. Two different people told me we would just be charged a $10 copay for my husband's visit. The receptionist/office manager didn't agree, and rudely told us it was our fault for not knowing how much our insurance charged (even though their office was the one to tell us the price), and it was just too bad. In the end, she was wrong and they had to call to refund us the money! It wasn't that she was wrong that was the problem, it was the total lack of humiliation and her rudeness. I hope that they make some changes because they do have a stylish store (mainly for women's glasses). Will also say that it took foooorever (2.5 hrs for an appointment and to pick out glasses is just too much). read more
