I came here for wine. It's an intimate spot. You come here to either buy wine, or hang out and drink wine. We had a group of 7 people with us. They had a few group tables and a small bar seating area. The gentleman serving us was super nice, offered recommendations, and great to chat with. The wine selection gets a thumbs up from us. It's a selective menu for foods. So either come already fed or grab a few items like the pita chips and hummus, bread and olive oil, charcuterie plate, etc. Great local business and we're happy to support them. read more

Came in for a quick after-work treat and ended up staying for an hour and a half. As soon as my friend and I walked in, one of the owners greeted us and explained how the process worked (we had never been in before). This place is small, and parking in Mill Creek Town Center is not exactly a breeze on this block. But they pack the shelves with really interesting wines, and they seem to have a really lively calendar of tastings, with good bar snacks on offer. You're in a created mall area, and that has pros and cons. There's parking out back, but you might not always be in the mood for the sluggishness of traffic plodding through these blocks. If you don't mind it, though, this seems like one of the more fun places to drink in this area. They have a little bit of outdoor seating--just a couple tables, and certainly out of commission in the fall and winter, when we visited. Inside, they have a couple of medium-sized highboys, and a nice long bar. You see those first, and you realize they really do want you to stay and partake here. There are long high racks of shelves down the side and back of the space, filled with interesting bottles, all custom-constructed of nice wood, to create a pleasant home-cellar effect. There are big comfortable stools everywhere. The wine selection focuses on the west coast, especially CA. Lots of nice reds, including some real specialty bottles, some at double the prices they fetch in CA. That happens, especially with the rare and fancy stuff. There appeared to be tons of really reasonable selections available, though. The staff here are super friendly and nice, offering thoughtful, thorough answers to every question, and creating a very upbeat and welcoming environment. We were just here to find an interesting bottle, but I immediately filed the place into memory as a future drinking spot, especially on a cold or blustery day for red wines. read more

I have been stopping by this wine bar since shortly after its opening. The new owners (took over in June of this year) are Candis and Tom and they both have winning personalities and great wine sense. Candis has brought in more wine and greater breadth of wine prices to satisfy all palates. My wife and I often stop by on Friday nights after work or on Saturdays during the day for a glass and snack (try the baked brie, with raspberry chipotle sauce). The new owners greet you warmly and always have time for a friendly chat, unless it is super busy - which can happen on Thursday tasting night :-), and a recommendation on new wines or new gifts in the shop. I highly recommend stopping in, having a glass or bottle, and enjoying the wonderful, fun atmosphere - and if you are coming in on Thursday or Friday nights, be prepared for lots of folks enjoying themselves... BTW: Candis/Tom just brought in a new LCD screen for those of you who absolutely can't live without viewing 'the game' (go Sounders!). There is also free wireless Internet for the techie winos out there.... And a note to a recent reviewer on the price of a glass: "...7 dollars is offered for 6 at Trader Joe's this week..."... ummmm, have you checked prices at restaurants and other wine bars or was this a sticking point with you? Obviously, Wine bars and restaurants offer a wonderful environment to sit and enjoy your wine and snack and other folks around you. All of the wines are more expensive than in a store and, when you break it down, slightly more expensive by the glass. My recommendation is to go into the wine shop, buy a bottle and sit and enjoy that by the glass (if you don't want to finish the bottle, the owners will re-cork it and bag it and you can then carry hit home with you). read more

Friendly, quality wines, chic atmosphere and music that doesn't interfere with chat and enjoyment of beverages. When I came on a Tuesday night, they were out of MANY reds by the glass, which I was bummed about. However, the staff was very friendly and perfectly attentive- not too clingy and checked in often. I really enjoyed the happy hour options for a reasonable price, along with the $2 off glasses special. Annoyed that sparkling wasn't included in that, but I suppose I understand. My French red was great instead! Seriously though, this place is being run right. I can see a lot of great potential on a Friday night. High seating, pretty lighting, snappy vino decor...you get the picture. I'll come back- it's worth trying out over other places in the area. read more

My girlfriend and I went here for a girls night out. The owners were so kind and the place was very welcoming. Great wine and great prices. We bought two bottles of wine $10 each! Then we got some fancy champagne for later. They have a place to chill your white wine too. Very relaxing environment, genuine people and amazing wine. As I look at the last written review (May of 2011) I can say that DeVine Wines has come a very long way from this time period. It's sometimes a challenge to find a good wine bar that has live music and a great casual vibe. This was the case until new management took over in the summer of 2011. I was recently back at DeVines this past Saturday evening and the place was packed. A great older type of crowed and they brought in some live acoustic music as well. The wine selection is good and affordable. They now serve some very simple and basic appetizers and have a happy hour to close the loop on all the areas where they needed improvement. If you like wine and live music, I suggest giving DeVines a second shot on a Saturday night. read more

If I could give them negative stars I would! New owners are arrogant and too full of themselves!! Issue: a gift card that was purchased from the previous owner that they refused to honor because "it's not on our list" printed out by the previous owner. After my 1st attempt to use the card on a crowded Friday night in February (I paid for our tasting & food with a different gift card that WAS on her list), I looked up the information on the back of card for their website and learned that it was the type of card that can be recharged over and over after initial activation. My nephew purchased the card 12/22/2020 for $75. Armed with this new information I again tried to use the card, showed her the amount listed on First Advantage Gift & Loyalty Card balance sheet I'd pulled up on my phone and all she could say was " I'm sorry sir, but if it's not on my list, there's really nothing I can do for you!" Oh Really? How about contacting the people you bought the shop from? They had moved to Montana and are really hard to get ahold of. She asked me to give her a week or so to try to reach them. Since they are open limited hours 4 days a week, I'm not always in the area (or frame of mind) to check to see if she'd heard anything, so it was awhile before I would try my luck again. The next time I go in, she'd misplaced my info, so I gave it to her again. My patience is wearing thin! After dealing with this B.S., off & on for 5 months, I went in on 07/21/2022 where I encounter her husband (I'm thinking good, maybe I can get somewhere with him!) I receive a warm greeting until I mention the gift card, then it's total indignation that I won't drop it because "it's not on our list". After a few harsh words when I told him I was telling all my family & friends to remove DeVine Wines from future gift lists for me and not to patronize, he tells me if I wanted to talk to the old owners they'd be in town Friday. I said "Oh great,we'll be out of town Friday!" After a snide "isn't that convenient" (how the hell is that convenient for me?) and "have a nice day sir", I tell him to "bite me"! He gets up, runs towards me with his chest pumped up, bumps into my shoulder and says "you make me so-o-o angry!" He's angry? Some customer service. "What do you want me to do, call her?" Please do! Where was this offer months ago? As he's calling, his wife shows up and asks us to step inside so as not to disturb the other businesses. Previous owner picks up right away, somewhat surprised to hear from him since they are meeting next day. He tells her about the gift card not being on her list, borrows my phone to read her the balance sheet info and asks her what to do. "Accept the card. That's why I reduced the sale price of the shop x-amount to cover any recharged cards that didn't make it on the list. So by all means take the card!" Stunned silence. His only comment " I didn't think she'd pick up". I finally was able combine that card and another for $125 worth of wine and get the hell out. With service & follow through like that, I expect they'll be joining the likes of Pier 1, University Bookstore and numerous restaurants who have failed in the Mill Creek Town Center! read more

I was looking for 14 Hands cab sav to give as a gift for a friend....I heard from a few clients that this store would have it! I called once during the week, no answer. Voicemail said they opened at 11am, so I called back at 11:15, still no answer.... I checked their website; which verified they opened at 11am, even on Saturday. So I packed my 2 (young) kids into the car and made the trek out there on that following Saturday morning, planning my trip to be sure I arrived right when they opened. Got both kids out of my car and walk up to the door to find a sign that said "SPECIAL HOURS THIS WEEK {MAY 3-8}" they opened at 12noon.... Grrrrrrreat, now I had to find a way to entertain my 2 young kids for an hour, thankfully there was an awesome toy store that kept the 3 of us more than busy!! At 12 exactly we walked in to find a gentlemanworking behind the cash register, he didn't even look up from his laptop when he said "hey".... I asked for the particular wine I was looking for, and he casually said "I dont think I have any...oh, wait, I have 1 bottle" As he rang me up, I informed him that his voicemail AND website both said they opened at 11, his response was 'YEAH, PAULA WAS SUPPOSED TO TAKE CARE OF THAT, AND I GUESS SHE DIDNT. I DIDNT EVEN KNOW THE NEW HOURS FOR THIS WEEK, I GOT HERE AT MY REGULAR TIME AND HAVE BEEN WALKING AROUND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" I took my wine and left. I will not be going back. Customer service isn't difficult. How about "I'm sorry about that"!?!?!?!? Dont blame it on someone else then tell me you've been here, just killing time!!??!? UGG! I had come prepared to buy a case, and he didnt' even ask if I'd like to order some, when he only had the 1 bottle to sell me!?!?!? Which isjust fine, I took my $$ elsewhere! read more

This place was great. I went with my girlfriend on a rainy afternoon to buy some wine to take home. Well long story short we ended up staying for over 4 hours. They had a lady singing with an acoustic guitar and man was she great. The staff of the wine shop was very friendly and helped me pick out some great wine. Let me say, to me wine is wine. I never cared to spend more for wine because it all tasted the same to me. Well let me say I am becoming a wine snob, the more I go to this wine shop the more I love wine. They have a lot of very good quality wines that will blow your mind. On top of that the prices are extremely low. The best thing I like about devine wines is that it is a wine shop but it is also a wine bar. So if you feel like sitting down to enjoy a nice glass of wine while people watching this is the place for you. They are in the middle of the mill creek town center so they are in a perfect spot to people watch. The staff obviously knows their wines. I just basically tell them what I am in the mood for and they recommend to me exactly what I was craving. It seems like if they can read my mind it's kind of freaky. On top of that all of the staff no matter who is working is extremely nice. It's one of those places where they go out of their way to make sure you are completely satisfied. To me that is one of the best things to have. I love customer service but best of all I love detail oriented people. I wish most business followed this motto. So if you are ever in Mill Creek heck if you are ever bored make the drive to this place you will not regret it. It is one of those hidden gems that I hope last forever. read more

I stopped in here with my mom for a glass of wine on a Sunday. It was pretty slow, only one or two other small groups there and one girl working. She was friendly, although we were a little confused at first and she didn't make a ton of sense; we asked how to order and she started stocking a shelf and then when we asked to sit outside she left to unlock the chain around the table without really explaining where she was going. All good after that, though. We each tried a different red wine, both of which were good and about $9. I had a pinot noir that I liked, but I forget the name now. I also wanted a snack, but my first choice (bread with peppercorn oil & balsamic) was out so I had a cheese plate with Dubliner cheese & ancient grain crackers instead, which was really good. At $5/cheese, they're not cheap, but one or two won't break the bank. I didn't get a chance to really look through the stuff for sale but I'd love to check it out one of these days - wine + cute gifts = my happy place. read more

I have been in to this wine shop on several occasions, before and after the change in ownership. I have to say, the new owners have really changed the environment for the better! They have a great vibe in here, and it's nice to stop in for a glass of wine, socialize, and even listen to live music! I love the nice selection of wine - and you can find something affordable as well as something a little more upscale. Very nice location very nice wine bar. The service was below average. I think the bartenders were a married couple chatting it up with another couple at the bar who appeared to be friends with them. We were never asked if we cared to get appetizers. Only served one glass of wine without an inquiry as to whether we would like another glass until we were ready to leave. I guess it was more important for them to figure out their vacation plans while or not they had one room two rooms one week to weeks. Seems to me that if it were not for people visiting their establishment there would be no money to take those vacations. We are watching the game and the guy bartender just went in and change the channel without a hint of what was going on. I also saw that he managed to pick up a snack for himself and eat it as they finish their conversation at the bar. Come onPeople we can do better than this can't we. This fabulous little neighborhood wine shop is full of surprises. The first is the incredible owner who has a nose and palette for outstanding wine, from the best $18 Malbec available to an over the top Sauvignon Blanc (my favorite...if you drink average Sauv Blancs you have no idea what you're missing!). And she always knows just what I will like...something new and special every time we come in. Beyond the outstanding knowledge and passion she has for her craft she sticks a beautiful selection, from that special anniversary bottle to planning the cases I need to a holiday party (at a great value). Her prices are always better than our grocery store (she doesn't stock a lot of big box wines, thankfully). Go have a taste or a glass. You will be glad you did! read more

I've had a previous good experience at De-Vine Wines, but today rubbed me the wrong way. I showed up for their Thursday tasting and when I asked about it they said it wouldn't be starting for 10 minutes. There was no offer to start the tasting early or anything else. I decided to walk about the shop and looked at several wines. All this time the two employees were focusing their attention to a customer in casual business attire that walked in after me. He must have been a regular as they had a spirited discussion about something with their big screen TV. As I walked about looking at wines, both High End and Everyday Drinkers, I noticed none of the bottles had prices on them. I guess this is now a shop where only those people who don't care about price or value shop. The whole time I was being ignored, so after about 5+ minutes I decided to walk out and not stay for the tasting. Too bad as I was looking forward to tasting Trey Busch's Sleight of Hand wines. Guess I'll just have to go down to the cellar and pull something out instead. read more

I recently got married and needed to order a large quantity of wine that was priced right and would impress the guest list. I hit all the big box stores but struggled to find a knowledgable person that could fulfill my request. After talking with one of the owners "Tom" he said let me make a few calls to my vendors and see if we can work the the budget and your taste buds. Tom produced a great bottle of wine in both red and white which we ended up ordering 13 cases of. It was a big hit at the wedding. I have been back since and continue to get exceptional service and advice. Horrible service, the owner was the one serving us and was unsure what wines were on the three sampler. When the wines arrives it has the name of the wines but no information about the wines. The cab I had had been open and sitting way to long. After flagging down the owner we had a cheese plate, what a joke.. I will never go back. Go to central market and buy a bottle and cheese you be so much happier. read more

I just noticed this place the other day while my wife and i were walking through the center. Stopped in to check it out but i guess we were not dress to impress? Asked where there french section was and was told that the had a few here and there. Lady was talking it up with other people and a wine sales person i would assume? They seemed to be more impressed with scores and points rather that the wine itself. Asked a few questions about some wine regions around the world and was lied to about them. At this point my wife was squeezing my hand and we decided to leave. I would think that if you own a wine shopnyou would know the difference between two french regions, maybe not? Seemed to be a wine shop where if you do not dress the part, they ignore you. Sucks for them since i found a better wine shop in downtown bothell on main street and that guy actually talked to me about every wine i asked about and even helped other people as they came in.
