Don't let the little unassuming restaurant tucked away in a strip mall fool you. The food , service, and ambience is what you'd expect to get from restaurant in a much more upscale area. We started out with drinks, a bright refreshing glass of Riesling for me and an old fashioned for my hubby. For starts, I tried the poblano corn chowder and we also shared the boar and beef meatball small plate. Both were absolutely delicious and were devoured. For entrees I had the wild boar bolognese and my husband had the lemon thyme chicken. The portions, especially the pasta, were generous and the dishes were really well composed. The restaurant has a cozy feel inside - great for date nights. I ordered the salmon, which was cooked and seasoned perfectly, and the accompanying rice and carrots were delightful. My husband ordered the Thai Chili Prawn Pasta, which was so flavorful and delicious. My husband is a little spice-wary, but was said the heat was perfect. It gave off the vibe of the perfect place for a date or night out to drink and relax. American Italian style bistro. They served pretty good food. I had airline chicken and husband had the wild boar pasta. Both pretty tasty. The little downside for me is that the dishes were both pretty rich. I think there was a little too much butter in it than what I can handle, but it is perfectly fine for normal stomach I think. The highlight of the meal were the desserts! We had the warm blueberry cake with ice cream, and banana foster. They were made in house and they sure tasted amazing. Perfect finish for the night. Quick pit stop on my staycation here in the Muk! Amazing and I mean AMAZING pork belly tostadas! I added the pickled hot peppers. They were delicious. Everything tasted so fresh and made for me. I really enjoyed these! The glass of wine was delicious as well - but these tostadas were a nice little show stopper. It also didn't hurt that it was happy hour. Also last minute decided to snag a Jalapeño Margarita. Oh my gosh - FANTASTIC. Just wish they had Tahjin for the rim as it's my favorite addition to this style of margarita. I cannot believe I didn't leave a review after the phenomenal mealI had here a few months ago. I was craving a steak dinner and a glass of wine and after looking for good places in the area for a ribeye, Red Cork looked highly promising. The restaurant is moody with great romantic lighting and dark wooded tables, perfect for date night when you want an intimate meal. We sat by the kitchen door in the corner, and could see some of the plates the kitchen was whipping up. A well put together kitchen with efficient kitchen staff with clean aprons is very impressive to me. I usually worry about hearing cursing or crude comments when sitting so close to the kitchen area but nothing disturbed us. Our server was polite and we needed for nothing with our meal. I had a PERFECTLY seared ribeye with great caramelization on the outside and cooked juicy medium inside. I ordered a side of prawns to create a surf and turf style meal, and my fiancé ordered the lobster Mac and Cheese. The appetizer was some kind of steak on toasted crostini which was quite tasty, and salads accompanied our entrees. It was exactly what I wanted for our dinner together and I even had to thank the chefs when we left. I wish they had some better options for dessert, otherwise I would've ordered something sweet to end a phenomenal meal. This is one of the best restaurants in Washington and has more than earned its perfect 5 stars. We will be back! read more
