I cannot get a hold of Fox roadside service and they were not returning my calls. I had no other choice but to call AAA tow, and once I requested a tow on the AAA app, Kevin immediately came & was so quick compared to the tows when I am back home. No one wants to be stranded on the side of the Highway and out in the middle of nowhere. However, that is exactly what happened to me. I was driving on the 166 about 95 miles from my home when one of the front U-Joints on my truck snapped. I heard a loud bang and pulled over. When I inspected the damage I noticed that the driveshaft destroyed a break line and an oil line. Needless to say I was stranded. Luckily I was in an area will cell service and I have AAA. I did have a special situation...I was in an oversized truck and I had my german shepherd with me. I relayed this information to the AAA operator and was informed that do to this whole virus thing and my dog...it would be up to the driver if he wanted to take me in his truck. 95 miles from home with a dog and possibly no one to take me back??? The AAA operator told me the driver is required to get me to the nearest town and if they were going to take me the rest of the way it would be up to them. She said that if the driver didnt want to take me to call AAA back and they would try to find me a cab service. What? That worried me. However when the driver showed up he was very professional and took me and my dog home. The driver Jay, was nothing but the best. He was trully a lifesaver! I highly recommend having AAA so if your in the area and get jammed up these professionals will come to your rescue. If you dont have AAA, give these guys a call before you call anyone else and hopefully they will be able to assist. read more

Gustavo is a wonderful human being! Thank you for coming to save us. I have AAA and Devon's body ship was dispatched. Gustavo called to confirm our location and gave an eta. He stayed in constant communication while he was en route. Gustavo showed up with another guy in the timeframe he originally quoted. He was efficient, professional and kind. was a long day for me since I've been trying to get my truck to my city. Unfortunately, it was getting late and I don't have head lights. I decided to call a tow to get it in the last 180 miles. I called AAA and they said that it will take 1 hour long. Less than one hour later, almost 30 minutes early, came my tow. Brett was the driver who is an easy going guy and made the whole ordeal real easy. He got me to my destination safely and faster than expected. just now Spectacular service. They were helpful on the phone, the driver that came to us very professional and nice. We got stuck out in the middle of no where on the soda lake and he was able to find us, pull us out and was so kind to make sure we were still ok after we got to the main road. Coming home from Lake Isabella, our Explorer overheated in Cuyama. I called AAA, and they were sending out a tow truck. Unfortunately, our radiator was toast, and we'd blown a hose as well. We were going to have to be towed to Santa Maria, over 55 miles away. Thank goodness where we were stranded (At MK Gas) there was cell service, and ample gravel parking. Our tow truck driver, Jay, showed up quicker than AAA told us they'd anticipated him. Jay was polite, courteous and made sure we were ALL comfortable. We had three adults, a 9 year old, and a 20 lb dog with us. He loaded us quickly, and got the paperwork out of the way. He delivered us ALL right to our front door and made sure our SUV was parked "just right" in the driveway. Jay was an angel!! Thank you so much for your cheerfulness :) read more

The problem with Prius is that you forget to check the gas level, so I was embarrassed to run out on the I-5 freeway in the middle of nowhere with no visible landmarks to help the AAA dispatcher and driver find us. So, I expected to sit in the 90+ degree heat and thunderstorm driving rain for some time. To my amazement, our driver (I didn't get his name - it should be Angel) pulled up behind us in less than 20 minutes and got us underway in no time. This place wanted highway robbery to do a tire change on a trailer. We were stranded on HWY 5 and for someone 10 min away I guess they think they feel it's ok to charge miles all the way from their shop to you going the long way. Was originally quoted $70 for the job and then it turned into $240.00. Be aware of the scam and mileage charges. Called Golden Empire and they were there quickly and drove from Bakersfield without any mileage charges and did the job for $70.00. Maybe you shouldn't try and gouge stranded people and think you can get away with it. Also filing a complaint with AAA since they are the ones that gave us this scam artist phone number to begin with. read more

Great vendor. Blew out a tire on I-5 at midnight the day after Christmas and 200 miles from home. I was on the shoulder of I-5 on a cold night with cars roaring past. I couldn't release my spare tire from under the car because Siennas require a special socket which I lost. AAA called a tow truck from Devon's and the person who came to help (Marco, I believe) was super kind and helpful. He patiently tried two different sets of sockets from his truck to no avail. He finally got an adjustable wrench and somehow was able to wrangle the spare tire free and quickly got us on our way. He also recommended another awesome service nearby (Gutierrez Tire in Lost Hills) that was able to replace my tire (could not make the long distance trip home on small sized spare) at midnight during the Holidays. Not sure what Devon's this review is for as of yet. I moved from the tulare area to northern Ca 8 years ago and started my towing business so I know the tips. I was down south on the 5 and my BMW SUV stalled due to a fuel pump issue. The driver that was sent was very polite and professional. He diagnosed the problem very quickly. Mind you I was not going to tell him I owned 7 wreckers in Northern CA. My brother even tried to bribe the young man into towing us further then our service allowed for extra cash. The young man was very polite and refused our attempt to pay under the table. It was more of a test to see how many people are shady. Earle passed the test very honest guy and very professional. Earle if you ever find your self in Northern CA and are hungry we would love to take you out. Your bosses are lucky to have you. read more

Had some work done on my Subaru after my friend crashed it, they told me it would take a week and a half and it took almost a month which my insurance only covered a rental for 20 days. There were a couple of plastic pieces in the interior missing and some trash left in my car, but the body work looks good. read more

Be careful with this shop--they will mercilessly take advantage of you when they believe can get away with it. My daughter rolled her car --she was unhurt, blessedly--and Devon's was dispatched by AAA to tow the car. They of course got paid to tow the wreck back to their shop and then immediately began to accrue storage fees of $50 per day. When I returned from my business trip the next day I tried to arrange having the wreck towed to a scrap yard (about $150 scrap value) but could not do so that evening. So to stop the clock on the daily fees which of course were quickly exceeding the scrap value I just signed the vehicle over to them. So they got the tow fee from AAA, the scrap value plus my $100 cash for 48 hours storage fee. Not a bad day for them as AAA shop. They knew they had me and smiled about it. read more

I bought a car recently from this place and i asked simple yes or no questions, however they were not honest about anything. I examined the car and it look okay, when I asked if it was salvaged title they would say "idk" " we don't have any information about it being or not", I asked if they knew if it was ever in an accident, they denied any prior knowledge of it. When I went in to the shop the lady who works there had a paper and only informed me about the basic of the car, but as soon as I payed for the car she handed me the paperwork which to my surprise had all the information regarding the car! And there's a huge sheet that states salvaged car!!! I mean really??? How could you not be honest at least and if that wasn't the worst they told me the battery was dead from sitting out to long! They ( the lady I don't know her name and Devon the owner) stated the car ran good. Well, as soon as I started the car to drive (we were not allowed to drive it, just turn it on) it made a noise and as you continue to drive it made a louder noise kinda like something was being dragged. They assured me it had no problems just a dead battery and owe tags which i was fine paying, but to lie straight to my face about it being salvaged or if it had any other issues was just atrocious!! I ended up having to fix everything it was not worth it! Would definitely not recommend and to take a mechanic to inspect before buying!! It was to good to be true !!! read more

This happened almost 3 months ago but it has left a lasting impression on me that I feel that I need to write a review which is rare. I was driving on I-5 going North with a friend driving right behind me when a debris on the road got caught in both of our bumpers and we had to skid to the side of the road. We noticed that a good size of a plastic fender caused it and we had no choice but to call my AAA insurance. Since there weren't any AAA services near us, they sent us Chris Taylor from Devon's Body Shop. And I'm glad they did because they told me on the phone that most likely he will have to tow my car to the nearest gas station but all I needed was to clip off both off the front liners so it wouldn't have to interfere with the tires. So what Chris did is he looked both under our cars and did just that. He took off both of our liners so we can be on the road again. He was very friendly and calm and listened to our concerns. He told us that it wasn't anything major and that we didn't need to be towed which was a relief because we were trying to go home to our families as soon as possible.
