Very disappointed because the food was just ok and not because the place looks a little dated but because they tell you the shrimp is Gulf Shrimp but it is not, if it was fresh catch it would not taste like chlorine. I suggest the owner or anyone in management to try it. Places that don't move the food in volume tend to keep the seafood in water and ice with some chlorine to prevent spoilage The view form the outside veranda is the only thing we enjoyed, oh and the beer. Service was impeccable but doesn't match the quality of the food only due to the poor choice of what is supposed to be the one thing identified with the Gulf: shrimp should be the best part of the menu, i don't think I would try the fish Won't be going back read more

We went fishing, caught some fish, and brought it to Dewey's to have it cooked for us. The fish was absolutely delicious, and we were so grateful to have a place that would prepare our fresh catch. The server and all of the employees were incredibly friendly, helpful, and welcoming. We'll definitely be back! read more

This was my second time dining at this restaurant. The first time we were seated outside near the water and I ordered the Mahi Mahi sandwich which was very good. Needless to say I was thrilled to return to this restaurant during my vacation. There was about a 10 minute wait. We were seated upstairs. I ordered the crab claws and mahi kids menu. The Mahi was really good but the crab claws lacked flavor and did not have much meat. I probably won't return. read more

absolutely the worst restaurant experience I've had in 33 years. Family and I got attacked by squirrels why trying to eat at this establishment. All the food was previous frozen and lacked any seasoning. For what you spend, you're better off going anywhere else. Boshamps, McGuires, literally anywhere else. save your money and don't bother going. My wife and I were in Florida for vacation and stopped by one of our favorite places to eat. This place is popular, so parking can be a challenge. Be prepared. I had the Mate's platter which had fried Mahi, scallops, and shrimp. I opted for a side of fries. It was quite good. My wife ordered the snapper and had it bronzed which was a new preparation for me. Oh, boy was that good. She keeps talking about how good it was. We also had a salad that we split as well. To finish off the meal, we split a turtle cheesecake. Our server was excellent and put up with all of our questions and quickly got refills for us. The restaurant is old school and does not go for fancy decor. Half is inside and half is outside with an awesome view of the harbor. This place is one of our favorites and it should be one of yours too. read more

We had a great experience at this seafood spot! The service really stood out, our server was super attentive and even shared some fun stories about his life, which made the whole meal feel more personal. You don't often get that kind of connection anymore, so it was genuinely appreciated. I ordered the mahi-mahi street tacos (my first time trying them!) and they were delicious. I'm slowly exploring seafood again after having a past allergy, and this dish was a win. The sauce on top was flavorful, but there was quite a bit of lettuce felt more like a taco-salad hybrid, haha. Still tasty though! The house salad with their homemade blue cheese dressing was amazing. I'd go back just for that. I don't think there's ever been a time we've visited the Destin area and haven't gone to Dewey's. Food is always fantastic and staff is friendly and fast. Recommend getting a reservation to this local gem though as it can get busy especially during Spring Break. read more

The server and food were good! We enjoyed the complimentary Cole Slaw. I had the pecan crusted triple tail (server recommended) and was very pleased with the entree. I requested a salad for a side and had to substitute both the mashed potatoes and green beans it normally is served with to avoid paying additional. We went as a family and several felt the French fries were soggy. I was disappointed in the lack of any greeting when we entered the establishment. 3 girls were at the host stand with heads down, in their phones. We went for the harbor marina views on their heated covered patio at sunset, and I highly suggest and have yourself a Dock Rocker beverage. Service was fast, very nice, and drinks were excellent. Food was good, but of the 11 of us in our group, about 3 or 4 of us had meals that were overcooked. We had a bit better seafood at some of the other locations in Destin and Miramar. We'd definitely return for the ambience and drinks if nothing else, and maybe try some of the fried seafood options. read more

I knew when I asked for a glass of wine and it was served with someone's lipstick on the side, I should've run the other way. This restaurant should be ashamed of themselves. Following putting your name on a list you're given the opportunity to grab a drink at "the window." This is literally a hole they cut out of the building that someone from the bar passes you a drink. Mind you, if you're lucky you might just get a clean glass. I, however, was not that fortunate. The restaurant is located on the harbor and for that, I give it 2 stars. It was nice to walk around and look at the boats while waiting to be seated. The server was super nice and very efficient. The problem didn't come when ordering dinner. It came with eating dinner. Even beyond the lipstick stained glass from earlier, dinner itself was the truly shameful part. You can't just fry something with no flavor and call it a meal. On the flip side, serving fish with a half inch layer of spices and call it blackened doesn't constitute something edible. Even the fries were straight out of the same frozen bag my grandmother used to throw in the oven. Difference is she knew to add salt. We couldn't wait to pay the check and pretend we had've chosen a different avenue for dinner. I'm just gonna end this review with this. It was bad. It was very bad. read more

Found this place in yelp and wanted to try due to the raves. It's in an old shack on the water. The service was quick and everyone was friendly and helpful. This was a classic fish house environment, which is perfect. The stuffed shrimp was really awesome. Crab cakes were also very good. The sauce with the crab cakes is unbelievable. The history in this restaurant adds to the experience. The upstairs outdoor dining was very cool, I could see floating tiki bars driving around in the ocean. I set the latest reservation I could, 4:30. I arrived at 4:20, and our party of 4 was seated upstairs at a reserved table right at the front of the harbor view. It was okay. The servers are friendly, being seated with the harbor view is nice, but the food was mediocre. The prices weren't too bad though. We ordered a rib eye steak (~$30) with hush puppies & fries. Note that the hush puppies have jalepeños, in case you don't like the spice. The lava cake was my favorite part. We asked for the chocolate sauce & whipped cream on the side & opted out for the coconut sauce. The chocolate sauce added tasted like the fake chocolate but the chocolate lava part in the cake tasted like legit chocolate & was delish. The atmosphere here is pretty awesome. It is on the water, which is pretty cool. It can have a laid-back, stylish, family, or date-night vibe.  The service was pretty decent. They were busy, so our server was a little scattered. Nevertheless, she was really nice and provided everything we needed.  The food was pretty okay. I ordered the grilled shrimp with what was supposed to be loaded mashed potatoes and hush puppies. To be honest, my shrimp was a bit overcooked. The potatoes were not the best, especially after adding the cheese and what not after they had already cooled down. The hush puppies were good. So we saved the best for last with this one. Everything was delicious. Loved the dock runner drink. It reminded me of a pina colada. Service was great and loved his recommendations on how he would order each fish. Had a great view of the harbor eating upstairs . Can't wait to come here again next time we are in Destin. I love this location right on the harbor. I am having some mobility issues these days so I was excited to park with a handicap placard right at the door. They said there was a 20 minute wait and would we be ok for sitting up stairs, I am greatful we were seated on the main level and I didn't have to fight the stairs! Our bartender was sweet and even offered us a bite of her supper. She was having the Fried Jalapeno Grit Cakes. We did not take her up on the offer but they looked amazing. Our table was ready quickly and we had a great server. Robbie was quick to check drinks and check for anything we needed. Our tarter sauce lid was not completely put back on the container so we had a minor explosion...but since we had extra napkins we cleaned it up quickly. I had the shrimp basket and the hubby had the Mate's Platter. I was a little disappointed in the shrimp, it was a little tough. The hubby was not all that happy with the scallops he thought they were a bit over cooked. The food with out drinks or tax was right at $50 so would say average for the area with a great view. Side Note: There is a new little pocket park right next to this restaurant, before or after hop over and look over the harbor and boardwalk. read more

5/5 -- A Must-Visit Gem on the Harbor! Dewey Destin's came highly recommended by locals, and it absolutely lived up to the hype! The restaurant sits right on the harbor walk, overlooking the marina -- the view alone is worth the visit. We had an outdoor table just in time to watch the sunset, which was stunning. Our server, Paddy, was amazing -- super friendly, attentive, and made us feel right at home. The food was beyond delicious: everything was fresh and bursting with flavor. The Jack scallops were decadent, the gumbo rich and perfectly seasoned, and the pecan-crusted fish was cooked to perfection. We finished with the key lime pie, and it was the best I've had in years. To top it off, we enjoyed watching the marina cats play in the grass below -- a charming touch that made the evening even more special. If you're in Destin, this place is an absolute must! read more
