Live music for the ambiance and family friendly atmosphere. Great views all around. Food is nothing special- typical American flare. Service was friendly. Reason for the deduction is that there are a number of employees outside restaurant trying to sell you the Margaritaville timeshare. Was bothered twice by two separate employees- upstairs and downstairs. I realize they are just doing their job, but honestly being sold something twice before entering a restaurant is a bit ridiculous. Felt the absolute need to update this 24 hours later. I forgot to mention below that my sister, niece, and nephew all have Celiac disease and we called beforehand to ask questions about their gluten options and we were ASSURED that the kitchen staff take food allergies VERY seriously. It's been 24 hours and my sister has been sick ALL morning with an upset stomach due to the fries that she ate that we were PROMISED by the staff that they would be fried in separate grease and no cross contamination would happen. ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE experience on a Saturday evening in July!!! My family and I chose to come here to celebrate my sisters 30th birthday while we were on vacation. We had a 6:30 reservation and were seated right away. Our server greeted us and took our drink orders. It took an hour and a half to get our drinks which were wrong. My parents margaritas were not frozen as requested. We placed our food orders. My sisters steak came out completely burnt. My brother in laws club sandwich came out with burnt toast. The sweet potato waffle fries and regular fries were so overcooked you couldn't even eat them. The shrimp in the seafood boil wasn't deveined and there was still shit in the shrimp. The potatoes in the boil were undercooked and the boil itself was under seasoned and bland. They tried charging me for 2 mocktails when I only had 1. My sisters salad was wrong and missing the requested shredded cheese. The server and managing intern were both very unpleasant to deal with. If you're looking for an overrated touristy spot, this is it. Salmon was ok. No fresh seafood and Walmart cut of meat for the steak. Was told the cooks "struggled with medium rare". Margaritaville was such a great experience! The ambiance was beautiful, and I sat at the bar where the bartender recommended the Ruby Red Renegade, and it did not disappoint. It was so refreshing! For my meal, I ordered the jerk salmon, and you could definitely tell there was someone with Caribbean roots in the kitchen because the flavors were incredible and the salmon was cooked perfectly. They also had live music, which made the atmosphere even better. The customer service was on point from start to finish. Another thing was that they took forever for my food and it was simply just a burger and some fries and then I asked for a plain burger and they gave me a burger with lettuce and tomatoes. The definition of plain would be with nothing on it except for the cheese that I asked for they decided to give me extra and I did not like that again it wasn't that bad. Once we got to our table our waitress showed up and we were hopeful. She had a great personality and you could tell she was busting her butt. Took our drink order and the drinks never showed up. After a rough start at the hostess desk because there was no one there, and even the employee standing there, who had just gotten off but never acknowledged us. I walked thru the restaurant and asked the first employee I saw to help us get seated, she did so. We then waited about 30 minutes before Rangel come to our table and welcomed us and apologized for the wait. He then took the order and returned to check on us several times. Thanks Rangel! We kept it simple with burgers, a crispy chicken sandwich, and fries. The burgers were dry and lacked seasoning, and while the chicken sandwich actually had good flavor, the batter was soggy, not crispy at all. For a place that's known for kicking back with a good drink in hand, it was disappointing that they were out of almost every beer on draft, including their own Landshark Lager. Service was HORRIBLE!!! When we first came in we were standing waiting to get seated for almost 15 mins while some people who just got there got serviced right away. After we were helped we had a wait time of 30 mins and that's okay but it was the fact that when we finally got seated we had to wait another 30 mins for our server, Jennifer. She had horrible service even taking an hour to bring us food and take our orders. She was very rude to us but the other tables you could hear her being very nice, she seemed like she did not want to speak with us let alone serve us. She wasn't even staying to talk with us like a regular server just passing by and leaving like regular. There was a time where we also wanted to go boxes and to go cups and she never offered it to us she was just ready for us to go. She had horrible customer service but she didn't forget to tell us to tip her! I was reluctant to come and write a review because I am not one to complain, however with a group of 10, only 2 meals were edible. Lettuce was slimy, toppings were missed, fish was microwaved, buns were burnt and hard, rice was undercooked, all after waiting an hour and a half for food. We have two diabetics in our group and after taking insulin, they need to eat and couldn't because of slow service and poor quality food. There was no soap in the women's bathroom which means employees were not using soap to wash their hands before returning to work, after using the restroom. With a $490 bill, 4 meals were comped bringing our bill down to $409 and everyone of use left hungry, 8 of us left with only taking a few bites. 3 of us have bad tummies. I am so disappointed as it is a super cute place and as out last night in town, wanted it to be a fun evening. Instead we went back to our villa as the experience kind of ruined our vibe. The food was not good. Several in our party felt sick after eating and 2 people didn't even eat their food. We ate at a few mediocre places in the area, but genuinely this was the worst. Go anywhere else. Also, there is a clear issue with a few of the white women who work there with people of color. The other staff members were all pleasant, so it was even more clear that it was an issue. After reading several 1 star reviews I was a little apprehensive to try Margaritaville Destin. As it worked out, the fears were completely unfounded. The restaurant was busy so the 40 minute wait was expected. Being called after 30 minutes was an unexpected bonus. Our waitress, Wendy, had 3 other full tables around us, but acknowledged us and said she would be right back. She was. Drinks were served shortly after that. And dinner came out in a reasonable amount of time. The five of us ordered different items; and not one complaint about taste, temp, or portion. Well, maybe that the portions were substantial. Is that a complaint? Did I mention the atmosphere? Harbor view. Bubba videos on the flat screen above us. My wife and her drinking buddy had a couple of margaritas each. We went to the Destin Florida location, group of girl ,12 maybe, super excited to go there. Location was not that busy. First of all we waited 20 min for even anyone to acknowledge us. We then ordered drinks only a few alcohol drink, those took 30 min to get. We ordered our food, same time as our drinks to save time, that took over a hour. I feel like our server was given way too much on only her 2nd day. She even was crying, we took care of her tip wise really well , we felt really bad for her. No manager around to acknowledge the strain our server was under, or how long it took for our food and drinks to come out. Not to mention the restrooms were disgusting. On a recent vacation we stopped in the HarborWalk Village and decided to eat lunch at Jimmy Buffet's signature restaurant. The ambiance of these things cannot be understated. You're literally transported to Key West and the vibe is chill. We were quickly greeted and our server was friendly and suggested I try the Jambalaya, which I did. However, I asked if the meal could be spicy and she said "they won't deviate from the recipe". Not her fault, but when it comes adding spice that should be easy to do. Anyways, the drinks were good, and the meals were all great. The only downside (thus the four star) is that the restaurant got slammed as were at the end of our meal and then service was non-existent. We waited about fifteen minutes for a check, but that's management issue. If you're in Destin check this place out - the food is good. read more

I'm not sure why this place has such bad reviews. Of course the tables are sticky--- it's humid and it's worth it for the amazing view. Did we have to wait for food? Yes but they let us know that the kitchen was backed up. We had a great view. Food was great. Drinks and service were amazing! Aubrey Berry was the next server! Just know that the lunch menu is almost nonexistent. The only thing for $11.99 is the Asian chicken salad with no chicken. Just get the regular Asian chicken salad. It was delicious! read more

Excited to find a Margaritaville here! As Parrot heads, we've visited so many but this one was excellent! We were seated quickly for an early dinner. Dave F. was pleasant & efficient. He suggested some favorites & accommodated us as we wanted the buffalo chicken dip & not the entire appetizer sampler. The Cheeseburger in Paradise (my usual) did not disappoint & neither did the "Perfect Margarita". I've been to many of these locations around the state but being from Orlando and have been to their newly opened resort in Ft.Myers this by far was the worst. First the ground floor was closed...no specific reason Upon the hostess stand on 2nd floor were 2 young girls on their phone. I told one of them we are a party of 4 and she ignored me. Another girl walked up much more friendlier. Upon seating wasn't aware this location is completely open to the outside elements. Being on the beach I have seen this but usually has additional fans or cool areas. There were minimal fans and no cool areas. We requested to change seats and she said we would have 30 minute wait to do so. At this time we ordered drinks upon receiving they were sour and funky having knowledge in the restaurant business can cleary tell the taps were old and dirty. I said something to the waitress and she acted like this is a usual thing she was very dismissive. I'll get back to her later. So we ordered and very specific on one order because of pickle allergies. We actually were making bets to see if the item came out with it or not. Of course it did. My daughter's chicken was hard as a rock and French fry's were old. I ordered a salad and was soggy. The last meal was no complaints. Being that we were starving we did not complain. The waitress had a very poor attention span as she passed us several times and head down not asking how we were doing. She definitely seemed overwhelmed. This Margaritaville has a great location. Located in the center of the harbor walk and with a great view of the water. We were luckily got good seating where during dining had sight of what was happening in the harbor. Food is great. Seafood combo to share was our pick and added salad on the side. Ordered beer and margarita to start a Florida vacation vibes. Great and quick service. I was just disappointed of our waitress rudeness on saying "there's goes my tip" when we ordered a shared meal. That's when the place lost a star for this review. We were not that hungry that time ... we just want to cool down and had some drinks.
