Came here to pick up cake as recommended for a coworker's farewell. I had never been here before so had no clue to expect and have quite high expectations for desserts due to other dessert options in the area. Honestly I was thinking, this place can't be thaaat good! I was wrong! First off I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of gift options in the bakery! Many of the local schools were represented and they also had gifts that were birthday themed and books for kids! Because my husband is a huge Duke (basketball) fan, I couldn't help but grab a cute Duke cup! I wasn't sure what cake slice to get my coworker so I asked the young lady working for reccos! She recommended I taste a few which was dangerous because I knew I would leave with my own which was not the plan at all! As a foodie, I fell for the tasting and of course ended up with a slice of seasonal pumpkin for myself! It was moist, spiced perfectly and not overly sweet! The pink lemonade was also very good! For my coworker I grabbed the recommended deal of buying 5 slices and getting one free! The young lady working even told me about a deal they have on Mondays... FREE SLICE DAY! I have to go to Dewey's on a mission, otherwise I will be sucked in by the delicious smells and abundantly available desserts and buy way more than I should. I came here to buy a half dozen cake squares. They have a deal where you guy 5 cake squares and get the sixth free at that time, so it worked perfectly for me. Our favorite are the pink lemonade, white cake with white icing, and chocolate cake with chocolate icing. As you can tell through the pictures, they offer way more than just those items, but I was on a mission so I stuck to what I needed. But it doesn't mean I didn't browse. And since there was a line, I was able to meander through the whole store. Back along the far right wall is a section of collegiate and North Carolina themed items. I definitely saw some future birthday and Christmas presents for myself in there. I quickly messaged a colleague to let them know where to find NC State items for friends if they ever needed to pick up a gift. As I made my way back towards the line of people, I looked over the freshly baked cupcakes, the tins of their so-thin-they-shouldn't-have-calories cookies, and everything else behind the glass. Inside Dewey's is also a small seating area, but I've never been one to linger in there due to the temptation. You can get a cream horn and eat it there so there is no evidence of where you went that day. I stopped by here around 7:30pm to grab dessert with my boys after we ate dinner and before seeing a movie. We got pink lemonade cake, strawberry cake, devils food cake, and cookies and cream ice cream. It was so delicious! The cashier was super friendly and engaging with myself and my sons. Visited Dewey's bakery while at Friendly center. Went in to see what they had, and was a little overwhelmed with the selection. They had a big variety of cake flavors, tarts, turnovers, brownies and pre packaged items. They also sell a small variety gift items as well. Cute little bake shop with a great smell as soon as you walk in. There's trinkets like a gift shop, breads, and wrapped bakery items for purchase. They do custom cakes and sell a variety of dessert cups, ice cream, cookies, and cake pieces. The service was okay--nothing more, nothing less. The entire shop and bathrooms were clean.  I started to go for the cake piece as they had a buy three, get three free deal for some of their baked items, but the cookies were not included. I opted for the chocolate chip cookies. They looked good, but I wasn't impressed. Actually, if I could have gotten my money back, I would have. It tasted like flour and was really crumbly. They had select ice cream flavors. The butter pecan tasted a little different, so I went with the cookies and cream. It was just okay as well. I have had some great desserts from a variety of places, so my standard is high, but I'm open and flexible. Dewey's is definitely a place where, if I'm with coworkers again or with someone who wants to stop, I would, but otherwise, I wouldn't personally waste my time. It is a cute place, though. read more

Dewey's is amazing! I am so glad they opened up in Greensboro. They have such varied options to satisfy your sweet tooth. My personal favorite is their sheet cakes which are soft moist yet filling! Their buttercream is not overly sweet and makes for a perfect treat. The staff is always sweet and kind in helping you pick out your dessert from the plethora of options they have to provide. Hello family! At this point, if you've seen my reviews, we are family. I love when the smallest things surprise you and brings you joy. Yesterday, I did my running around and I had some time before my next appointment. I went to Cava for lunch (see review on that in a moment) and then I realized I had a little more time to spare. Since I was in friendly center anyway I remembered there was a Dewey's a few doors down. I went in and I was greeted by friendly staff and I let them know I had never been in there before. I tried Dewey's years ago when I used to work in Winston-Salem and my trainer had bought some pink lemonade squares. I remember that the cake was very moist and overall delicious. But since I didn't work in the area anymore I literally forgot about it all together. I also forgot that they had put one in Friendly Center. Needless to say, when I had those memories I had to stop by since I never been in the original location. Anyway. I love all things lemon and it was a hot day so I decided on the lemon bar dewzy. I got the classic size but next time I will get the mini because it was a lot. I ate most of it and I probably had about 4-6 more bites before I tapped out. As I was waiting, I looked through the bakery and was pleasantly surprised at all the options they had from various cake squares, brownies, pastries, and their signature cookies and cheese straws. I received my dewzy and sat inside. As I was eating it, I almost cried. It was literally one of the best things I've ever eaten and I was emotional because the cake really tasted like my mom's. Unfortunately, she's no longer here but she used to have a cake decorating business that did very well. I never thought that I would ever get to have anything like her cake ever again. I am not a baker. But this was well worth it and they will be getting all my money this summer for sure. I can't wait to come back and try more items. read more

This is a genius idea for another spot with a company I'm already such a big fan of. The location makes it perfect for stopping in for something sweet before, during, or after some shopping. They have a wide variety of menu options but you can also customize them yourself. We ordered the classic mint chocolate one but accidentally got the mini, the staff quickly apologized when I mentioned the miss-hap and told us to enjoy the mini while they made the classic size. Both were delicious! I loved the flavor and texture of everything together and my favorite part was when the ice cream melted into the cake at the bottom. SO GOOD! We came to Dewey's Dewzy bar last Friday for their soft opening and got WAY more than we bargained for - in the best way possible. Upon entry we were greeted by staff who were so accommodating and friendly I was actually shocked. We were asked to enter our email into their database for a buy one get one free QR Code which is awesome! Next we were told we were allowed behind the counter to make our own Dewzys while getting an overview of their concept and background of the Dewey's brand. I chose to make a coffee themed Dewzy which was layered with vanilla cake, espresso sauce, caramel drizzle, honey latte icecream, vanilla custard, and caramel cookies. I topped it with whipped cream, espresso powder, and a coffee straw - pure deliciousness! The best part was getting to the bottom where everything was melded together... perfection in a cup! While relaxing and chatting with friends in their clean, bright, inviting atmosphere we were approached several times by staff checking on us making sure we had complimentary water bottles, samples, and even free tshirts! Needless to say the attention and camaraderie that was bestowed upon us during our visit to Dewey's Dewzy Bar will keep us coming back - and their treats can't be beat! read more

Y'all! I had NO IDEA that I was missing this in my life!!! We had minis, which were perfect for us. The minis are 9ozs of deliciousness and the classic is 20ozs. They have a larger size too but I didn't pay it no mind. Way too much sugar in a cup for my liking. You can pick one of their creations with your own flair, if you prefer, OR you can create your own from scratch. There are iPads in the back for you to place your own order, they still got our cake flavor wrong, but we didn't care, it was sooo good. First visit!! I had only heard about these huge "Dewzy desserts", so I was basically in the mindset of just looking. I'm not big on sweets but several things caught my eye. I'm already a huge fan of Dewey's - their cake squares, their Moravian cookies, the coffee cake and now their breads. All the things I don't need. LOL! Now to add to that list is the Dewzy! I chose the birthday party dewzy and hubby chose to create his own dewzy, with lots of chocolate & hints of espresso. (The man loves his chocolate & his coffee ) Both were topped with a little whip cream and a sugar Moravian cookie. YUM!!! #supercute My Birthday Party Dewzy consisted of vanilla cake and vanilla buttercream (I went light) vanilla ice cream, and sprinkles (light again for me). His unique create your own started with chocolate cake, Honey Latte ice cream, espresso syrup, sprinkled with mocha chips and a little whipped cream. I'm very happy to know they also carry packaged items as well as the delicious cake squares the shop in Winston Salem sells. Nothing will ever blow your mind like cake and ice cream mashed together in a beautiful medley of flavors that Dewey's provides. I got a custom coffee ice cream with vanilla and chocolate cake dewzy which was very rich, definitely hit that craving of a decadent dessert. My wife loved her dark forest cherry dewzy while my daughter couldn't stop giggling at the mermaid dewzy she wanted. Ordering was a breeze with the self checkout touchscreens they have in the back corner of the store. Staff was also SUPER nice. They even walked my family through the menu, options, and how to order. Couldn't have asked for a better experience. Prices were 6$ for a small cup and 9$ for a regular cup which was reasonable considering what we got and how delicious it was. A friend and I visited Dewey's Dewzy Bar this afternoon. What a treat! The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable of their product. A Dewzy is a dessert combining cake made locally by Dewey's bakery, ice cream, topped with sauces, with yummy whipped cream and served in a cup. While we were deciding on what to order, the staff treated us to a few Moravian cookies made on the premises (a tasty prelude to the main attraction!). The ice cream is also made in this local store and you can watch while it's blending. I found the Mini (9 oz) to be a perfect size for a light treat but also see how the Classic and Super sizes would be big sellers, too. There is plenty of inside seating and a few tables are set up outside the front door. You can also take the short walk to the nearby Gathering Area, find a table/bench, and enjoy your Dewzy there, too. This is a flagship store - first of its kind - and we're happy they chose Greensboro for their location! read more

Wow, the inside was clean & immaculate like Joanna Gaines designed herself. The most eyecatching part is the single white tiled wall behind the counter and it is beautiful. The self-serve counter is easy to use. And its lovely you can add extras for free such as caramel sauce or sprinkles. I got the banana pudding dewzy. The large pieces on banana were yummy, the yellow cake was moist and absorbed the ice cream and the custard. I added pecans and sprinkles as extras and i didnt regret it. As we were eating, i saw the girls making the shortbread cookie toppers. It goes to show, the business is proud to do things scratch-made. For $6, it was a great treat. read more
