My son is back home for the summer and had never tried Twin City's ice cream, so we stopped by after dinner. We arrived around 8pm and the line was very long. We ended up waiting about 30 minutes. They had decorated the outside with Harry Potter-themed decorations, which made the wait more enjoyable. It was fun looking at everything while we were in line. I was originally planning to order something from their regular menu but since they still had their Harry Potter-themed sundaes, I decided to try the Butterbeer Sundae (with a light amount of whipped cream). Don't judge me ...,Yes I am back and yes I earned a regular badge. For a guy that doesn't like sweets I am a bit perplexed myself. I am sure it's because the place is great, the owners are very friendly, the Sunday's are amazing....and on this visit I purposely did not choose one of the amazing specials so I would not be "that guy" that got the last one as I did on my previous visit. I was so happy to participate in the final ice cream series with the yelp crew. We got to try one of the amazing small sundaes. I went with the Wake & Bake. It comes with your choice of ice cream, a brownie, whipped scream, chocolate sauce & black and gold sprinkles. I had such a great time, I ended up going for the "The Bailey Banana" and honestly I think it was the right choice. It wasn't too overpowering with the sugar, and you can literally taste all the different flavors in it. My wife and I came to Twin City Sweets for a Yelp event last year which is how we learned about it. At that time, there was a Harry Potter theme. We brought back our two granddaughters and their parents. Our daughter-in-law is a big Harry Potter fan, and we knew she would like the theme since it included plenty of cool stuff for sale. Unfortunately, when we got there, we learned that the themes are only short-lived and they change. There was no theme the day we were there this time. We all had different ice creams and went to the play area to sit and eat them. There are many things for young kids to do, including toys, activities, and things to ride on (like teeter-totters). There's also lots of seating for the old folks, too, and stuff to do like play cornhole. We are so lucky to have a great place just a few minutes down the road from us. We've been going here since it was a little shack on the side of a gravel parking lot and have loved seeing it grow into what it is now. I love that we can get ice cream and watch the kids run around and play with various things and burn off some of that sugar. Also plenty of options to join in the play as well, with cornhole boards, plastic axe throwing, large tetris game and plenty of seating. The staff are always excellent. We came here about 6pm on a Saturday because my wife was craving ice cream. We had driven by many times and thought it looked cool. The business is located on a large corner property off Stratford Road. What makes Twin City Sweets different is they provide a relaxed and fun outdoor experience for customers which includes things such as corn hole, jenga, lawn size connect four and various other games. It is ideal for young families who want to enjoy a sweet treat but also have some fun together as well. Since it was just my wife and I we headed straight to the trailer to look over the menu. We could then see the many options available. While you can order simple ice cream they specialize in craft ice cream combinations which are well described and they make it easy to decide what you want prior to arriving at the window. My wife chose the "Triad Triple Mint" which included mint chocolate chip ice cream, chocolate syrup, crushed Andes mints, mint Oreos and whipped cream. We were also surprised to see they even had a fair amount of swag. My wife's order was prepared quickly and looked beautiful and delicious. She thoroughly enjoyed it and was impressed overall. The prices are higher than average but we recognize they are not simply providing ice cream, they are providing a fun and relaxing environment for customers as well. Every Wednesday after my oldest granddaughter's dance class, we take her out for a treat, be it ice cream, cupcakes or donuts. Being it's spring, we're on an ice cream kick! My husband, granddaughter and I got there first and shortly after, our son, daughter-in-law and youngest granddaughter joined us. Last year during Ice Cream Month, Yelp featured Twin City Sweets. My family of three came here on a Saturday around 3pm. There is parking lot out front and extra parking behind. Service was quick and we had many yummy options to choose from. I got the Winston Worm Sundae in the small size and it was great. My son got the Strawberry Shortbread sundae with vanilla ice cream which was a special this particular weekend. Overall it was nice, just a lot of syrup in my opinion. My husband got two scoops of the banana pudding ice cream and he enjoyed it. A fun local ice cream spot! Twin City is located at the corner of W clemmonsville and Stratford road. They have parking in the front area and it looked like they also had extra parking in back. They have a cute little patio area with some cover seating and also have more seating out in the lawn area. The guys at Twin City were very friendly. Unique business establishment. Been here for 3 or more years, don't remember exactly the number as told to me by young owner Eric. He is very personable even while taking care of a good amount foot traffic. Could use bigger and more fans but on this super hot muggy day the clouds rolled in and made it feel much more comfortable. Sits on open site and has ample parking. And probably does good take out. The equipment looks shiny and new-ish, which makes a good impression. They have a port a potty on site, I would recommend that owner add a pump wash station to wash hands, especially since the hand sanitizer pump was empty. I will ask if they have wet naps. -- Took vision to set up an ice cream business out of town center and I believe it works. Amount of people here implies that place has made a name for it self. Great place to bring the family and kids of all ages. Possibly a great location to host a small event. Folks can enjoy corn hole, bulls eye, picnic tables some with sun umbrellas. Take photos in over sizes chair. Enjoy the grass and surrounding tree line. Looks like they have at least one frisbee golf station. A definite business to experience and worthy of revisit. The ice cream here is to die for. There are so many options, the line is short, and it was certainly high quality. The people working there are also super nice. It's also super family-friendly, and also date-friendly, because there are so many yard games in the back including soccer, disc golf, 4-in-a-row, and cornhole to play with once you're done with your ice cream. I just love it. A lot. I am a sucker for ice cream, especially in the summer and this is my go to for ice cream. Twin City Sweets uses good ol' Hersheys and transforms them into sundae masterpieces. You can of course get just plain ice cream, but I definitely recommend one of their signature sundaes. Twin City Sweets is one of those spots that if someone was visiting from out of town or new to the area, that I would specifically recommend. I love how the sundaes are all named after different things/areas in Forsyth county. My personal favorites are the Bailey Banana (a banana puddin' concoction named for Winston-Salem's Bailey Park) and the Piedmont Peanut Butter (Reese's lovers, get this!) They also sell roasted nuts that are absolutely divine. I love the cinnamon almonds! If it's been a while since you've been out to Twin City Sweets, they've upgraded their humble ice cream stand into a sweet new food trailer! There's also a big patio/seating area with some shade and a huge "yard" with lawn games. This is a perfect place for families with young kids. Twin City Sweets is also known for their "theme weeks" where they convert the space into an experience, with a special menu, decorations, and music! LOVE everything about this place, already planning to come back next weekend! It was pretty packed when we came but the line moved so quick and our ice cream was out in under 5 minutes. They have a huge variety of sundae options plus specials depending on theme weeks or if they just get a new product in. This week was a strawberry short cake special because they got it from a local bakery this week. I went with that sundae and my husband got the banana pudding. The strawberry short cake was delicious and my husband said the banana pudding is his new favorite dessert (it has banana pudding ice cream and pudding in it!). If that's not enough the location itself is awesome. There's a huge outdoor area filled with plenty of chairs, benches, picnic tables and tables for kids. Can't believe I forgot to review them! I got a sweet tooth i just had to listen to on a Sunday night and this was the place for it. I got the peanut butter one? I forget the name but it had melted peanut butter, PBC, and mini Reese's puffs, I got mine with vanilla. And Omgoodness those Reese puffs were the best part. Super friendly service, especially for a Sunday near close. We didn't have to wait long at all for our treats but they did have cute little patio games out the kids played with a bit and some other little handmade trinkets for sale. The menu options were absolutely enticing and had me stumped on what to get, other than the yelp sundae. The sundae served for the yelp even had a birthday cake themed and the brownie fudge works with the whipped cream and crunchies was scrumptious. The workers were extremely friendly and welcoming. I also got a double cherry cheesecake sundae, which had big cheesecake chunks with cherry ice cream that had large cherry chunks in it. Sometimes I'm in the mood for something fruity on the dairy side and this surely satisfied me! Have to say that this place was a great environment and a place for the whole family to enjoy. Well, I finally made it by there and got the Piedmont Peanut Butter and it did not disappoint. Extra parking is located in the rear (down a gravel road) with large shade trees. The place serves Hershey premium ice cream with several fun and Winston Salem based superlatives. I brought my kids and they enjoyed the simple things, ice cream and places to play.
