The weight machine at her register was not working, and Stephanie was trying to figure out what was causing the problem. Despite the situation and the growing line of customers, she remained calm and professional. She did not allow her frustration to show or create any negative atmosphere for the customers. I want you to know that Stephanie's calm and positive demeanor made a real difference to me. Honestly, because of the way she handled the situation, I decided not to leave my shopping cart and take my business to another store. I also want to recognize Kyle who provided me with excellent help in the bulk section. I was looking for oat bran and some other ingredients, and this gentleman took the time to help me understand the labels on the bulk items. He also explained that I could have an item ordered by the case if I needed that quantity. He didn't have to go out of his way to help me, but because he was observant and attentive, he noticed that I needed assistance and helped me find what I was looking for--and even gave me additional information that was very helpful. I was so tempted by all of the fun drinks that they have on the menu, but I stuck to what I came in for the decaf flavored teas. Today I went with a blueberry lavender and it is so delicious and such a pretty color. I also love how great of a deal it is for a 32 ounce large tea. The staff was also very friendly, and they were also working very hard to help every customer who was trying to get a bakery item or drink. I applaud the new enforcement of the ten item limit at self checkout though I think 15 items is more realistic. Proposals in New York, Ohio, and Washington are gaining momentum for a 15 item maximum limit. The real issue is their total lack of regard for the customers' time budget. I have always believed it should never take more time to check out at a live cashier than it does to do your shopping. With that in mind, my last 3 visits found me putting items back rather than enduring the long lines of at live cashiers. I am sure I am not alone in that mindset when entering your store. With me making the conscience decision to limit my items cuts into their total receipts This morning, which is Sunday September 20th, 2026, I had over 10 items but only two live registers were open with about 10 people in each line. That is completely unacceptable and is a gross insult to their customers. NOBODY was happy to be trapped there! It took me almost 20 minutes to check out and nobody from the store cared but the customers were simmering. I fully understand that the grocery industry is in turmoil with rising cost and slimmer margins. As an employee owned store, I would hope that the customer experience would be high on their priority list. Why have 15 (a guess, I did not count them) registers when only 2 or 3 are ever open. No thank you! It's like you handed me a personal invitation and a quarter to go to the new Aldi store just outside of your parking lot. I'm sure I will see some of their former customers there.
