It has been over a year since I last reviewed DG Donuts and in that time they have really expanded their menu. Now you can get donuts with fillings, cookies and items that seem more like a danish or a pastry. They maintained their large size and everything is super delicious. Recently I surprised my oldest daughter with a coconut almond donut that she absolutely loved. It was big enough to share with a coworker. The next day my youngest daughter and grandson showed up at my house with a beautiful assortment of donuts. My grandson specifically picked out a special donut for each of us. Of course being 2 1/2 years old he sampled each one before handing it over. The blueberry was a huge hit. It was loaded in the center with pie filling. They changed things up and now stay open seven days a week and have a drive thru. Customer service is spot on with a big smile and a happy greeting from the owner every time that I walk in. read more

It's hard sometimes to review a donut spot because that's an item that could be subject to personal text. But I'll do my best to give you my opinion, which based on previous reviews, seems to be consistent. Let's start off with the donuts, they are huge! They seem to be very creative with the offerings they have switching them up often, but also maintaining some staple favorites. I am a child at heart and therefore sprinkles is always going to grab my attention. Once you get past your favorite topping, however these donuts are simply delicious. Fresh as you can ask for. Location wise, their store is located inside the Chevron gas station\mart. Very clean and accessible. They also have a drive-through which I will certainly use in the future. Lastly service wise every employee is always friendly and helpful. And the prices, I feel, are very reasonable. Try their cold brew coffee (lightly sweetened), you won't regret it. Enjoy! read more

Man I am torn. All these great 5 star reviews, recommendations from friends so I drove from downtown this morning to partake in donut deliciousness. Drove up to a long line at the drive thru. I figured that was a telling sign of things to come. Walked in and the space in the gas station to the left seems cool. Everyone working was super nice. I picked the strawberry old fashioned donut to go. I love cake donuts, typically have an outer crunch with softness inside. Took it to go. From here I went over to meet some friends at the Winter Garden Farmers Market where I decided to eat my donut. That's where things felt flat. I took two bites and realized that this donut tasted and felt like it wasn't from this morning, and I was there at 9:20 am. It looked amazing, not gonna lie but looks and taste were two different things. It taste like it was yesterday's donut that was rolled over to today and sold. This thing was stale! No crunch, no softness just tasted old and hard. Oh well guess you can't win them all. read more

Yelp let me down on this one! DG has amazing reviews and I was so excited to try these donuts. Every-time I travel out of town I always go on the hunt to find the top donut spots. DG was my stop for today and I left unimpressed. I got the cinnamon roll, old fashion cookies and cream, maple bacon bavarian bar, ludicrous lemon, and a sprinkle donut. Here are their ratings: 1. Cinnamon Roll 6/10 Icing was bomb but the inside was dry and missing cinnamon flavor. 2. Old Fashioned Cookies and Cream 2/10 This by far was the most disappointing one. It was super hard and had a texture of a scone vs a donut. On top of that it tasted nothing like cookies and cream 3. Maple Bacon 7.5/10 I dont love bavarian cream but this donut was not bad at all! We've gone to DG a few times now and I've never been disappointed! I have however been lost; FYI, the storefront is located inside the chevron gas station right next to Thurstons auto sales. While at first I was off by the idea of gas station donuts let me assure you these are NOT gas station donuts! They are Devine bites of pillowy dough masquerading as donuts. Their menu changes semi often and they will sell out of many of the more popular items by lunch time but don't let that discourage you from going- we've never had a bad donut from them! read more

I've been to DG Doughnuts a number of times, and have never thought to leave a review, until this week! We went to Attic Door's Mardi Gras celebration and ordered the king cake dessert, which was mind blowing. I asked the waitress who made it, and she said DG Doughnuts! I should've known! Their donuts are a bit denser than regular donuts, artfully decorated, and they sell out early every day, so make sure you get your donut fix in the morning. The staff is incredibly helpful and sweet from the moment they open their doors, to the time they sell out of donuts. I've bought donuts from them for birthdays, bridal showers, and more. My favorite are the cinnamon sugar and glazed donuts. The shop is located inside a Chevron gas station, which was a bit confusing the first time I visited. It is located in Oakland, but it is worth the drive and you can make a day out of it by visiting the Winter Garden Farmers Market and Plant St. Market (I live in Winter Garden so it's not that much of a drive for me). read more

We LOVE DG Doughnuts! Every donut we've had from here has been delicious! If you follow them on Instagram, they share the week's menu ahead of time. Their classics are always available like vanilla, chocolate and sprinkles, but a small selection changes weekly of fancier donuts that include ingredients like raspberry, maple and bacon, Oreo, etc. Their cinnamon roll is just ok. It lacked cinnamon and I consider myself a connoisseur of cinnamon rolls. Last, don't be surprised on your first visit - they are located in a gas station, but their portion is well decorated to match their branding. I wish I could give this 4.5 stars. I had heard so many good things about DG Doughnuts and I had to make a trip to Clermont so I went a few extra minutes to try it. I got a cake (lemon flavor today), raspberry pistachio, and an orange berry cheesecake. The doughnuts are huge and a great value at only $2.75 each. They weren't the most amazing doughnuts I've ever had, but definitely better than most big brands. The cake was kind of dry, the doughnut hole on top very dry. The orange berry cheesecake was a bit of a let down. The cheesecake icing didn't taste like much but the doughnut was a good fluffy texture. The raspberry pistachio was my favorite even though there wasn't much pistachio flavor to the mousse. I also got a "lightly sweetened" cold brew coffee and it was outstanding. Staff was very friendly and nice. They have a drive through if you know what you want already. I would go back but wouldn't make a special trip. read more

Such a wonderful shop! We are the lemon merengue and banana hazelnut crunch along with an apple fritter and a vanilla glazed. The lemon meringue was amazing. Tasted just like the pie. I liked the banana hazelnut crunch with Nutella but couldn't taste anything but the banana (maybe add a little more Nutella and slightly less banana flavor). The crunch was awesome and fresh on the donut. Still, it was a very good donut just couldn't taste the hazelnut. The apple fritter was yummy and was enough for 4-6 people (easily 10-11 inches across). It's a great apple donut but I wouldn't necessarily call it a fritter. It has great flavor, great chunks of apple and was very fresh. If you are looking for a crispy fritter with crunchy fried edges and a soft center then this may not be the "kind" of fritter for you. It was mostly soft all around with a little crisp here and there. I do love fritters so take my review with a grain of salt on the fritter. I like a traditional crispy fritter. Small selection after noon, so I'd you want their "fancies" they recommend getting there earlier (I didn't get there until 1 and there wasn't a ton of variety left and no fancies). Loved the cinnamon roll, although I wish I could've gotten extra frosting; it was so good. The rainbow cookie bar was excellent, but wish it wasn't mint Oreos. I hate mint, so I found myself eating around those. If they made this without the Oreos or non-mint it would be a 10/10. But the bar itself was delicious. I like this place visits a hot or miss. I find the donuts are big but expensive also but also taste like cheap low quality donuts elsewhere. Their brownie was 5 dollars and not overly good. The staff here was very welcoming and helpful. The donuts are rich and decadent. The turtle donut was my favorite and had my favorite caramel filled chocolates of all time on top.
