Great little ice cream spot just up the road from us. They have an order at the counter or drive thru option. There are several outdoor tables with umbrellas for seating and they recently added restrooms which we appreciate! They have everything you could want, soft serve, cones, bowls, malts, shakes, splits, concretes, sprinkles, tons of toppings, etc. We've been getting the dole whip! The kids size is massive! We typically will order 1 kid size and ask them to split it for the littles. The ladies working there are always so sweet. The line can get long so just know you may be waiting a while. I love everything about this Twistee Treat location. The service is fast and friendly - I love to see all the young folks who work here as it transport me back in time to when my friends worked here while we were in high school. Maybe it's the nostalgia factor but Twistee Treat has some of the best ice cream and frozen treats in town. I used to joke that they put crack in their ice cream but, no, it's just good stuff. There's always a crowd, but the line goes fast. I like that they added a person to take orders in the drive thru before you reach the speaker. Just make sure you google the menu ahead of time. The ice cream is good, but expect a lot of vanilla and not enough toppings. I typically get a turtle sundae but the last couple times, it lacked fudge and caramel. Once you get midway through the sundae it's just vanilla left. This time I tried an Oreo sundae, and again, toppings on top but nothing midway through. They have enough flavors to offer something for most of us. I should have gotten a small. It is affordable for the price, and they were large. While my roommates thought they tasted awesome, it tasted very processed, in my opinion. The sprinkles were not tasty, and there was definitely no chocolate flavor for chocolate sprinkles. I felt it was not a fresh dairy treat. The service was good. The ambiance was outside with nature flying all around me. To me that is great, because you don't want to be earing the ice cream on a cone in your car. Florida thing...It's 9:30 at night Twistee Treat and it is pack as usual with 20 cars in the drive through and all 3 windows buzzing with excitement to get their favorite ice cream . Though there are the lines they are always well staffed, friendly, and very reasonably priced on top of that. Do I recommend you come try it out you betcha I do. My family grew up visiting this Twistee Treat. They consistently serve a good quality product at a fair price. Although the lines are long the service is always friendly. There is a drive-thru and some outdoor seating but many people decide to eat in their cars. They sell delicious milk shakes, sundaes and a large variety of toppings. You can get your ice cream in a cup or a cone and have it dipped with tasty hard shell coating. Cherry and chocolate are two of our families favorites. After their cones are dipped they usually have them rolled in nuts. Over the years I always get the same ice cream cone...a chocolate & vanilla soft serve swirl cone with sprinkles. Randy's Donuts out in LA, the old Brown Derby that looked like a Derby style hat... it's one of my kitschy loves. Now, in the spirit of full disclosure, I don't love ice cream. Some people do ( hello, Dad ), but I don't. It's not that I don't LIKE it, I just never have a taste for it. HOWEVER, Twistee Treat is hard for even me to resist.
