I can comfortably say these are the best doughnuts in central Florida. They're fluffy and moist on the inside with a perfectly fried outer shell, and they're big enough to share. They always have super indulgent weekly fancy flavors to try - Cranberry Pistachio Cannoli or Raspberry Poptart, for example. And I've never had a bad flavor combo, even when trying a flavor I wouldn't normally go for (like lemon meringue). Whether you're a doughnut fan or not, give this place a try. It's the type of place i bring out of towners who want to try a great local place. My only warning is that the doughnuts are very indulgent, so be careful if you or your friends don't like rich, dense, oh-so-belly-busting (but worth it) treats. I drove all the way from Altamonte to get a list of donuts I had seen on their IG. By the time I get there they had none of them LOL...I don't even think it was 12 PM. But since I drove about an hour away I decided to purchase 2 that were left and even though they were not my 1st, 2nd, or 3rd pick and THANK GOD - the donuts were delicious! They were not dry or had a bad flavor which I was worried about. A lot of times the donuts sit out for hours and dry out but these did not. If it wasn't so far I would be going more often but it was worth the trip! Doughnuts are about 3.75 each but are Huge! The kids tried the 2 different doughbuts which they loved. We had the apple fritter which is the size of an adult head well worth the $5 amount. I bought 2 1/2 dozen of these damn gooood donuts in the span of 3 days. Each were gifts for my coworkers and my husbands coworkers. If anyone told me that a random gas station off of the turnpike had some delicious donuts tucked away, I'd look at you so crazy! While on the road, I wanted to make a pit stop for some goodies, and I opened up my bookmarks and noticed that I was near DG Doughnuts. Upon arriving, I had to look at my map twice to verify if I was at the right location. Sure enough after walking in, I was relived to see the sign for DG, unfortunately, I arrived too late, as most of the options were gone. However what was left, was good enough for my wife and I to grab and go. We took their powdered doughnuts that came with an extra doughnut hole on top, and to be honest, I'm not much of a powered doughnut fan, but after taking a bite of this doughnut, it may have made me like them again, or that DG made a Damn Good Doughnut overall. Ah ha! I see what they did with their name! This won't be my final review as they have more options upon opening, and change their doughnut options weekly. I have been following DG on Instagram for what feels like a couple years now and I FINALLY made it out there. Oakland is sort of on the way to my hometown so I stopped on my way to see my parents. First, it's a super cute place, don't be thrown off that it's in a gas station, they do a great job of making it not look like it's in a gas station, lol. They have five specialty flavors and then 8-10 every day flavors. I got there at 11:30 (four and a half hours after they opened) and they were out of 3 of the 5 flavors. I couldn't believe how quickly they went! Either they had a big rush in the morning or maybe they need to adjust their baking quantities. Anyway, I got the two specialty flavors and then some of the other core flavors. I brought them home and we all shared (don't worry, we used a knife and made sure to try and only touch what we were eating). We were all very happy with all the flavors, they were delicious! At first I thought the prices were kind of high but once I actually saw the size of the donuts I understood the price. The donuts were light and fluffy, not dense at all and the flavor combos were delicious! I'm glad I finally checked out DG, I can't wait to go again! read more

Let me say BOTH are good. DG's are bigger with a smaller selection and a little more money. But you only need one being as big and satisfying as they are. I had the neopolatin and my wife had the rocky road. The chocolate on top is MUCH thinner than at the King. That was some what of a let down. So first off, I love desserts. I love Instagrammable food. So this place won me over before I got there. That being said, my love for indulgent treats has taken me to MANY doughnut shops around Central Florida and this is by far the best one I've been to. Some quick facts: They have a drive thru (which makes it super convenient to social distance!). They're located inside a gas station (which seems sketchy, but it's really not. Plus, you can get drinks from the gas station to go along with your doughnuts!). All of their doughnuts are made fresh every morning (which makes for delicious doughnuts, but the caveat is that when they sell out, that's it for the day). Their staff is super efficient (so even though the line might be out the door, don't worry - it'll move faster than a Disney line!). They announce new special flavors each week (But they have the classics every week). But none of that is what matters. The doughnuts are INCREDIBLE. First of all, they're HUGE and worth every penny. It isn't too cakey (big doughnuts often are, making them hard to eat) and I could literally eat just the dough and be happy. But they have great flavors and fillings for all the doughnuts, so it's really a match made in heaven. Great dough, great flavors, nothing too overpowering, and a super staff. I came here one Saturday with a friend and it's literally a hidden gem. Its connected to a gas station so if you're not paying attention, you might miss it. It was definitely worth the drive for me coming from Haines city. I got something like the toasted coconut and my friend got a blueberry tart doughnut and we bought got iced coffees. They were amazing and fulfilling, the apple fritter was humungous. We came later in the afternoon and they didnt have as much options as I know they would have bright and early.
