took my family to DH Noodle when I was in Dallas and it was such a good halal find. It is honestly not always easy finding halal noodle spots, so this was a great option. I got the stir fried beef noodles and the beef noodle soup and both were really good. The stir fried noodles had great flavor and the beef was cooked really well. The beef noodle soup was super comforting and had a really rich broth without feeling too heavy!! 100/10 I AM ONE OF DUN HUANG'S BIGGEST FAN. I apologize for the late review but please know I continue to enjoy the food in this chain every time I visit! For context (see my Rowland Heights DH review) I've been a fan of this chain since years ago & when I was living in CA I would eat at their Dun Huang every week. I've introduced family & friends to that place. I've had solo dates, friend dates, crying nights there. The night before moving to Texas I ate there. When I arrived in Texas in 2023 I was devastated when I learned there was no DH restaurant! So when DH Plano opened I was SO elated. I brought my then-boyfriend here and he too fell in love with the food! Unfortunately I live an hour away from Plano but the drive is SO worth it. No other restaurant beats DH's Lanzhou Beef noodles. It's too good. You can control the spice levels and noodle thickness. The broth is INSANE I personally enjoy ordering the spicy Lanzhou Beef or Mutton noodles in soup. Sometimes I'd get scallion pancakes. This past New Year, I got their free lamb leg and MAN IT IS DELICIOUS. Service is always spectacular. All waiters/waitresses that I've had the pleasure of seeing were always so kind even during busy hours. Place is clean and the environment is welcoming. You know a restaurant is good when you see a variety of South/Southeast/East Asians eating there. We came lunch time to try their Lanzhou beef noodle, it was on special during the month of Feb. We also ordered the beef wrap. The noodles soup was good. The broth had good flavor and came with a few thinly sliced beef. Portion was okay. It was satisfying. Kinda disappointed with the beef wrap, while the flavor was good, it did not satisfy. This place is LEGIT! Came here to try the fresh noodles and we were not disappointed. Upon arrival you are able to see the staff in the kitchen pulling the noodles and preparing them to eat. SO COOL. I ordered the No1, which was the signature beef noodle soup (spicy) and let me tell you, I can handle some serious spice and this level of spiciness did not fall short. The entire flavor of the soup was wonderful. MUST TRY. Along with my soup, I ordered house fresh yogurt for my drink (which I wasn't expecting literally a cup of yogurt, but thats what it was and it tasted great) and marinated cucumber as a cold appetizer. Stopped by for lunch with a big group after church this past Sunday and three of us ordered family style with three items. We were able to get seated immediately but it definitely got busy and people were waiting by the time we finished. We split the spicy lamb ribs, one soup noodle (the mutton with triangle noodles) and one dry noodle (the oil pour with wide noodles). The wide noodles were just okay, not chewy enough for me, but triangle noodles were pretty great. Mutton soup had an excellent flavor and there was a ton of garlic in the oil pour noodles, which I enjoyed. Lamb ribs had excellent flavor but I am a little sad they charge $2 for a small bowl of rice for a dish that seems like it should come with a complementary bowl of it. I was super excited to hear about the halal options being offered here although I do wish they offered the halal Crescent Chicken more often. Nonetheless, authentic hand-pulled noodle options aren't exactly a dime a dozen and despite the cramped interior a visit is usually well worth it. Staff are very friendly albeit there is complications from a language barrier, and on busier nights expect a wait with just about everything from the time you walk in. It's not bad service but it could be better. What original attracted was their Beef Noodle Soup which was a bit of a let down flavor wise, but over a few visits I discovered how good their Crispy Beef Rolls and Spicy Cumin Lamb Ribs are. There's some other greats like their Braised Beef & Potatoes while there's a few I would skip mixed in there as well so tread weary. Last I checked they don't take reservations, so if you're coming then come not so hungry and be prepared to try a few dishes with friends if it's your first time! read more

this place is more like a 3.75 out of 5 stars. DH stands for dun huang, which apparently is a region in western china. We were in the plaza and it was around lunch time and it was between this place and a place across the street.... we were lazy and didn't want to drive across the street so we ended up eating here. We ended up getting the below items: Signature lanzhou beef noodle (non spicy) Dry Noodles with Cumin Chinese Burger with Beef. The chinese burger is definitely not like a typical american style burger. Its simply beef soaked in juice inside a chinese style bun. Nothing else. But it was tasty and the bread that soaked up the beef juice was really good. As for the two noodle dishes, i actually preferred the lanzhou beef noodle, the soup base was really soothing and flavorful. The dry noodles dish was just alright... you had to pay extra if you want to get protein... and even tho its "dry" the sauce it comes with almost made it like a soup noodle. The portions are really big, and i didn't finish my dish. They provide chili oil on each table, and i recommend adding some into your dish to spice things up. Its not too bad. Pretty authentic Lanzhou style restaurant! They offer a lot of classics including the handpulled noodles and the lamb ribs. Always great to have more handpulled noodles restaurants around. Flavor was pretty good but the noodles seem to be consistently soft and overcooked everytime we come. It kind of loses the charm of the chewiness of the noodles when they get a little soggy. Food: I liked that you could choose the width of your hand pulled noodles as I typically like a wider noodle. I got the spicy Lanzhou noodle and it had good flavor, nice portion size. A friend got the dry noodle but it came deep in sauce. Service: They were quick to get our order but the dishes for our table came out one at a time and staggered. So some people had their food for about 10 minutes before the others. Unfortunately they forgot or lost mine so while everyone had their food the waitress came to retake my order and waited again. Space: they did have a window to the kitchen to see the noodles being made so that was nice. Otherwise, the restaurant itself is narrow, we were able to seat 7 but that was with one person at the end sticking into the main walkway, needing to scoot in or stand up for incoming parties. read more

I tried DH noodle restaurant today after someone posted on Facebook saying it's great, but I was really disappointed. The soup had a strong MSG flavor at first that got saltier towards the end. The beef was overcooked and dry, and it had a weird taste. The noodles didn't taste fresh-made and were too soggy. Compared to other fresh, hand-pulled noodles I've had, this place wasn't as impressive as others have said. The lamb with bread had too much sauce and was overly sweet, with too many bell peppers. The beef rolls were wrapped with green onion pancakes ???? It was too oily. The original beef roll supposed not use the green onion pancakes. The flour is similar like flours tortilla. I'm just sharing my honest opinion. Maybe some people think that if food is too salty, oily, or sweet, it's not worth eating, then stay home. To me, the quality of the food here wasn't as good as others have said. If you don't like my opinion, you can scroll down. I am still feel very thirsty and can't finish my bowl. So glad we found this place - this place has the best noodles I've had! Freshly made noodles for each order and you get to choose size and texture of noodles too. It's nicely decorated and the servers are all super friendly. They are also know for their lamb so def try their lamb shank when here - it's fried and full of flavor! We also enjoyed the scallion pancakes and the beef rolls with their homemade chilli oil. Def ordering other noodles here again so good! Can't wait to be back soon. This was an incredibly excellent restaurant. The food was fantastic. I luv how they have hand pulled noodles that are truly hand made and you can taste how fresh they are! As I entered the restaurant tonight, there was a whole family that was raving about the food and told us what to order. The cumin at the restaurant has a great taste, and it's not too overwhelming or anything so I could eat that every day !! By the way, the noodles are super long, and that's actually very good luck in Asian culture . The restaurant is clean, well staffed, and the people there are really nice. Living in Dallas area for more than 40 years, this is the first time that I encountered a transitional 蘭州牛肉麵 with the 五要素 of 一清二白三紅四綠五黃/ Lanzhou Beef Noddle with the five elements of 1 for Clear Soup, 2 for White turnip, 3 for Red oil floating on top of the soup, 4 for Green cilantro & 5 for hand-pulled Yellowish noddles. They boil & seasoned the soup base every morning from beef bones, with or without the Red oil, you will appreciated the bones flavor, without the damage of the salt. It's tasted like I was in 蘭州/Lonzhou myself, I cannot tell the difference, the only thing missing is the Green part of the 蒜苖/garlic sprouts, or maybe the Islamic restaurant do not supply Garlic. I ordered 二細/Regular style of noddles, give me a bit of biting into it. & fell the toughness of the noddles. But next time I will try the 細/less round which will be much easier to bite into and properly chowed in your month. This is a new noodle and grill that just opened in DFW and is located at Mifen Prince's old location next to BBQ Chicken. They have branches in NYC, LA, and Silicon. The soft opening (?) seems to be pretty lowkey as the place was pretty empty when we showed up at 5:45 PM on Sunday. The place is medium sized with plenty of seats and only one table in the back for large parties. The menu is still pretty limited right now. They do have what looks to be the official menu on display by the cash registers with lots of dishes but those items aren't available yet. They accept both cash and credit card. There's a 6%-ish discount if you pay with cash. We ordered Mutton on the Bone (东乡手抓羊肉), Cucumber Salad (蓑衣黄瓜), Original Lanzhou Beef Noodles (清汤牛肉面), Braised Beef Noodles (红烧牛肉面), Cumin Beef Fried Noodle(孜然牛肉炒面), and House Fresh Yogurt (自制酸奶). The food came out pretty fast and we could smell the fragrance before we saw the dishes themselves. Plastic gloves are available upon request for the mutton. The cucumber salad was a great appetizer on a hot day being cold and a little spicy. Of all the noodles bowls, the braised beef noodles was my favorite - the broth was delicious and a little spicy, noodles were al dente and flavorful, and the meat was tender. The Lanzhou beef noodles were kind of bland while the cumin beef fried noodles were way too oily. The mutton was pretty awesome - the meat was super tender and fatty, and it came with pickled veggies / raw garlic / cumin / spices / chili oil on the side. I highly recommend it! Lastly, the yoghurt was a great way to cleanse the palate after a heavy meal. One thing to note is that the noodle bowls come with very generous portions of noodles but not much meat and veggies. Food was good, I got the fried noodles with lamb. Service was quite bad, if you don't speak or look Chinese then they won't be attentive and they'll seat you in the corner of the restaurant (or at least the server I had did). The waiter I had also didn't speak much English, which would've been fine if they hadn't seated us in a bad area, taken at least 10 minutes to ask for our order when they got other people's who came after us, and not checked on us until it was time for the check. I went in at around 12 on a weekday and it was pretty slow, quiet (no music), and awkward; around 1 it got much busier with people coming in for lunch. read more

Overall this was a great spot that I would recommend. First the good! We had the Lanzhou Beef Noodles which were excellent all around with awesome noodles and just the right amount of spice. We also had the Egg and Tomato noodles which were also delish. We topped those with a great beef roll. The best was getting to watch the hand stretch the noodles in the kitchen. The not as good - we order the Dry Noodles with beef and they were the wettest dry noodles I have ever seen. These noodles also had the least flavor and were just not as good as our other two noodle dishes. These was also an issue with the service. We were seated quickly but then it took a long time for the gentleman to take our order. Then our food started to arrive but we did not even have chopsticks to eat with. We had to stand up to request them which is odd. It may have just been an off day service wise, I will be back to try the fried noodles as they looked excellent. read more

The fun thing about hand pulled noodles is you get some variety in the thickness of them, but they still have a great bouncy texture. The broth (in my opinion) was a bit too salty. Perhaps the lack of decent, traditional Chinese food options in Tampa has me rating this experience higher than what it really is or perhaps the food at DH Noodles matches the high quality Chinese food I used to have access to living most of my life in NYC. First, the service, I was seated promptly and the server was quick to take my order and give recommendations on the noodles, so I went ahead and ordered a scallion pancake and the northwestern lamb noodles with thick noodles, she said it was spicy but it had medium curry levels of spice but it was delish. The noodles themselves had a great texture to them, kind of like udon but a bit thinner and firmer without being super chewy, it helped picking up the flavors from the lamb it came with. The lamb was flavorful, not too spicy, cut to bite sized portions as were the melt in your mouth pieces of potato, it was amazing. The scallion pancake was on point as well, crispy and fresh, I really miss eating these. The restaurant itself is pretty nice, well lit and appropriately decorated for a family friendly Chinese restaurant. I arrived a few minutes after opening and was surprised to see atleast 3 rather large sized families walk in, it's a hot spot, the plaza it's located in general is a gem and next time I'm in the DFW area I'll make sure to stop by to try some other Asian delicacies. read more

Service isn't great. People aren't really friendly, and seem to be unbothered by their customers presence. The staff was even arguing almost themselves, it was just a bit uncomfortable and awkward. That being said, if you can stand the bad service, the food is really good. We loved everything we tried. Original lanzhou beef noodles: tasted very salty 3. Braised beef noodles: the broth tasted the same as the lanzhou broth, which was a shame since these should be different 4. Silky wide potato noodles: the potato noodles were very good, but the actual sauce has no flavor, it was just spicy. You are able to choose your noodle width for certain dishes, which was nice. The overwhelming consensus was that the hand-pulled noodles were good, but the actual flavor of each of the noodle dishes were incredibly lacking. Glad to have found and tried this place! The two of us ordered the beef noodle soup, spicy lamb, and scallion pancakes. There are six different types of noodles to choose from and we ordered thick noodle. I could tell that this place makes the noodle themselves. The texture was great and the thickness was uneven, giving credibility that the noodle is hand pulled. I would like to try the wide noodles next time. Checked out DH Noodles upon hearing about the place through some foodie friends. Unfortunately, I did not have the best experience as they said. DH Noodles is located in the same plaza as some of my favorite restaurants. This location may not be the best for a large groups, but great for family or 2. I liked the interior and the ambiance. I tried Marinated Cucumber, Spicy LangZhou Noodles, Curry Beef Noodles, and Fried Noodle Chicken. Marinated Cucumber was very flavorful and crunchy that helped wash off some grease eating the dishes - MUST! Broth on both soup based dishes were rich in flavor with beef very tender with full of flavor. However, noodles on stir fry were all broken up and chicken was were not great. The noodles were not chewy as foodie friends raved for. I wanted to see the worker pounding the noodles fresh, but did not see that - hold on. Shortly after receiving our food, few people came in to photograph and they started pounding and pulling noodles fresh. All the flashes were on my eyes. No attention from staff for asking for more water or anything, just very busy assisting the photographers/influencer. It would have been better if an owner excused us for the photo flashes. Located in the strip center with other great restaurants and Z.Tao market. We ate here Thanksgiving. The best tasting bowl of soup I've had a LONG time. The spicy lanzhou beef noodle soup. Now I usually don't want ALOT of noodles in my soup. I love noodles, but I don't want my soup to be filled with noodles. I'm more of a give me more broth type of girl.
