So when I moved from ny I was seeking a place for pedicures. I liked the ceiling here (I know random right) and also it didn't smell like chemicals. I've been here twice so far. Helen does an incredible job and I've seen her twice. The staff is friendly. It's clean however I think the towels could be replaced. They look dirty because they are old. Also they don't do an amazing job with regular manis and pedis in terms of drying. They left me out to dry lol I just sat there when they were done and no one told me when to get up or anything. I ended up smudging my nails as soon as I got home. Not everyone is getting gel and since I'm pregnant I'm not going to but I feel like there should be some kind of dryer for me. Overall it's relaxing and nice but also not the best experience that I was hoping for. read more

I want to start off by saying I love this salon! I have met some amazing technicians, they're so skilled and detailed I never have to worry about my nails looking terrible. Ricky and Andy1 always do me right and settle my anxiety with services. I take my mother here every 2-3 weeks for nails and pedicures. She needs the TLC that Lily gives her due to her nerve problems. I love spending my time and money here, it's more than worth it! That being said, it's disheartening when the overall wonderful vibe is dampened by the receptionist with the black hair. Lately our past few visits she's been abrasive with the guests and rude to the technicians. This past Saturday (7/25), towards the beginning of our pedicures, my mother and I witnessed her walk up to a woman with her feet already in the water and ask her to go up front to check in. She in turn had to walk with wet feet towards the front to put her phone number in. The confusing part of this interaction is why the receptionist didn't just ask for her number and check in for her, as another receptionist had done for me and my mother our first visit. Later into the appointment, after we had finished our pedicures, my mother and I were getting our nails done. My mother had booked multiple appointments back to back with Lily specifically due to the quality and care she uses with my mother and her pain sensitivities. The appointment started at 11:45, and Lily was able to start the nails earlier. At the same time, 2 lady's had walked in for pedicures. I heard the receptionist tell the ladies that it'd be a wait but to give her a min to see what she can do. She later comes back and has the 2 ladies sit at chairs and proceeded to tell Lily she had a pedicure waiting for her. My mother reminded the receptionist that she was in an appointment with Lily and she needed to finished her nails first. Throughout the appointment I heard the receptionist pestering Lily continuously asking when she will be finished. Unfortunately due to the pressure to hurry through the appointment my mother's thumb nails were not cured correctly. We noticed about 5 mins later at a store across the street. They were tacky, and originally we were just going to cure them a little longer when we got home, however the polish smeared as soon as my mother reached in her purse. When we got back to get her thumbs fixed, Lily was still in the middle of her service, and the receptionist told Katie to fix her nails. My mother rebutted, not wanting to make Katie do something she wasn't going to get paid for, as she wasn't the original technician. However, the receptionist persisted. We made sure to tip Katie for her time. Overall we absolutely come here and adore the technicians, however from personal experience and witnessing her interactions with others, the receptionist has made our calm peaceful salon, hostile and unwelcoming. I'd hate to have to look for a new salon, yet I might have to. Being a patron who comes so frequently with a second person and spends well over $200 per person every visit including a generous tip (I also work in a service field). A friendly attitude is necessary for the first face you see coming in, and continue to see throughout the service. read more

I have to start by saying that it pains me to leave this review. I started coming here about 6 months ago and I honestly loved the vibe and the service. Until recently. The new receptionist on Saturdays is truly talented at ruining my day. From check in to check out, she's rude. Her attitude definitely leaves much to be desired. I was already frustrated with her from my previous visit because of her attitude towards me when my daughter and I were paying when she walked up to the gal getting a pedicure next to me and made her get out of the water to type her phone number into the iPad at the front. Seriously? Then she kept coming up while Lily, (who I absolutely adore!), was doing my manicure and kept rushing her to finish with me. First of all, I had an appointment. I actually scheduled multiple appointments with Lily to ensure that I had enough time for my nails and toes and extra massage time so to interrupt my service multiple times to rush her is completely unnecessary. Lily takes her time with me because I am disabled and have neuropathy throughout my entire body so she is constantly making sure that she isn't hurting me. I ended telling the receptionist that I have an appointment so the other client will still have to wait. My last app was at 11:45 and it wasn't even 11:45 when she started rushing us. And then she rolled her eyes at me and raised her voice and snarky tone. I really feel like she is hurting the business and I may have to take my business elsewhere. Edited**** I had to come back and edit my review because after the receptionist rushed my nail technician while doing my manicure I left and the gel apparently had not set on my nails so they smudged within 10 minutes of leaving and when I went back, no surprise here, the receptionist was rude some more. If you read the reviews you will see that I am not the only one who has had issues with the new front desk girl. I did receive a sweet little note from someone about my review and how bitter I sound. And she even wrote a review that is more about me than the salon. My daughter and I spend around $500 every two weeks at this nail salon. Not including tips. So nobody is struggling financially. And to say that she witnessed me be anything but polite to the receptionist is an outright lie. I've now been told to never come back to this salon to spare the receptionist my entitlement. So my 3 stars became 1 and I wish to the heavens I could leave negative stars. Apparently it's not safe to leave an honest review any more without someone stalking you and passing judgement on you because you, the customer, were mistreated at an establishment. The only person who witnessed any interaction between the receptionist and myself was Lily and Katie. No other customer was anywhere near us. And it's very convenient that the person leaving that review and messaging/stalking me only has left 4 reviews ever. I have visited here for years and have never been treated then in recent months. I've experienced professionalism and quality every visit from the receptionist and nail techs. I'm sad to say, today I witnessed an entitled customer mistreating the receptionist when she was merely doing her job. It's awful that miserable people are provided the opportunity to complain when they feel entitled. I've come to realize people who repeatedly complain are financially struggling for the free buck, free service which is what I believe happened today. I came in with a reference picture. My nails turned out even better! They are turquoise, cat's eye, chrome, geodes. They are backed by chocolate brown to really make them pop. Andy 1 freehand designed each nail himself. Which he does every time I go. My prices vary as to how intricate my request is. I never mind spending a bit more. Andy 1's attention to detail and customer service is unmatched. Every time I leave, I declare that set as my favorite...until next time that is. The shop is very professional. Music in the background sets a relaxing yet contemporary vibe. Reception is super friendly and accommodating. I love that everyone chats and jokes with one another. They love what they do. It shows. Was told 5 minutes til that it would be 5-10 more minutes. 12 minutes after walked out because we made an appointment for a reason and needed to be done by 2pm. This isn't the first but it will be the last time they won't honor my appointment. For how expensive this place is you think they would appreciate repeat customers and honor appointments. To top it off the front desk person hid in the corner on her phone instead of being up and dealing with her overbooking her manicurist. This was one of the worst gel manicure and gel pedicures I've ever had. Not to mention the hidden up charges. I came in with a gel manicure that needed to be filled, my nails were slightly rounded from typing on the computer. I was also missing two nails where they needed to add tips before doing the gel. They charged me five dollars for each nail tip to be replaced and charge me for what they call reshaping of the Nail, which is basically filing your nails and should be included in the manicure. Don't even get me started on my toes, it looks like my five-year-old son painted them. Also asked for opaque pink nails, and they look more like neutral brown. The total came out to $130, when I complained about my toes being very messy. She only took off $10 as she did not charge me for the gel on my toes. Hello, I come to Di Malano Spa because I have known Katie and her husband for over 20 years, and they are the only reason I continue to come here. Katie does amazing work with waxing and nails, and I have always loved her services. Unfortunately, I have now had two experiences where the front desk receptionist has caused issues with appointments, and it feels like there is an attempt to sabotage Katie's clientele. Today, I called at 10:16 to let them know I was running behind schedule, and the receptionist told me it was completely fine. When I arrived, I was then told that I had canceled my appointment, which I absolutely did not do. On top of that, Katie was told that I canceled as well, which was not true. It is extremely frustrating because Katie and her husband provide excellent service, but the customer service at the front desk has been disappointing. Went in for my first time as a walkin. Needed my nails done asap. My regular lady doesn't work weekends. Sat with Katie and got a regular mani. $35 but you don't get anything other than cuticle trim and color. No lotion, mini massage, etc. Was fine. Noticed that my nails chipped really fast so came back a couple days later. Kelly, the store manager, fixed them herself. LOVE Kelly. I want Kelly doing my nails all the time if possible. She was just so detail oriented. Came back another time and got a regular pedi and nail color change. $35 pedi with Star who was a bit abrasive. I like a gentler touch so will try to avoid Star next time (personal preference only) Sonya did my nail color regular polish change with French tip. She did a fantastic job. Most recent experience- walked in for nail color regular polish change again. Was seated with Katie again. Katie is nice and friendly. One thing with Katie is that she encourages you to tell her if anything is wrong on the spot. She will fix it for you. Color change is $10. French tip is $15. That's what it shows on itemized receipt so color change for regular polish with French tip is $25. I don't know if that's truly correct because have been charged differently at separate times so just make sure to clarify your bill when you get your nails done here. read more

I have seen several technicians and I am very happy with my manicure services! The place is very clean and they do great work!

Salon is aesthetically pleasing. Great check in process and friendly man at the front counter. It is nice the little files are in separate clean bags but the parts that really matter - the metal cuticle clipper and metal pusher backer tool I watched the stylist use on the person before me then use on me. The items on the carts are visibly dusty and dirty. I watched two different workers finish pedicures and sign the sheet in the middle that they cleaned their chairs without cleaning them. If this salon stepped up the cleanliness measures it would be much appreciated. Staff is very nice but polish job on the toes was awful. The lady covered so much of my toe skin and didn't clean it up. She also used too much polish so it pooled on the cuticles and sides. The price is very expensive for this area. A basic gel manicure is $45 on natural nails. I would not recommend the $50 ($60 w gel) and higher pedicures as they are not worth the added expense. They put the different lotions on your feet and legs and then wash them right off. Stick with the $35 (comes to $45 with gel). Massage is very short compared to other salons. I personally work long hours on my feet so this is one of the most important parts of the service but it is lacking here. When the lady was taking my gel polish off my toes she got her dremmel tool on my skin. I understand accidents happen but if you read all of the reviews on here cuts and accidents are way too common. This as well as the bottles of fungus medicine at the register make me nervous to keep coming here. read more
