i called at 5:30 and jenny had availability for a 6pm pedicure. the ambiance is very nice &…read moreluxurious, they had bird song & spa music playing which i really liked. colorful nails is located on the corner near dane street beach. i got a deluxe pedicure with hot stones, massage & paraffin treatment. i had never tried paraffin before and it was nice. their pedicure chairs are incredibly comfortable, and the massage and hot stones were excellent! jenny paid great attention to the comfort of the pedicure & took extra time to cut cuticles. i typically go to another place, so i needed an interim appointment, and with my nails it was an okay job, but the sides were cracked a couple days after and i didn't love the length & shape of my nails, i had to go home to file them myself. i think i could have communicated a bit better to fix that, but they were not as square or short as i had wanted. overall i was in & out in an hour, and it was $75. it's one of the better nail salons in beverly, so if you're looking for a relaxing, spa ambiance with quick service, all the options & kind staff, colorful nails is a great & convenient salon.

My much-abused summer feet look a million times better, both my toes and my finger nails are well-shaped according to my request and with a perfect paint job. She did a great job cleaning up my neglected hands (I get pedicures once or twice a year but hardly ever manicures, and I'm hard on my hands). Also, the area around my nail-beds have always seemed worse after a manicure; I seem to get more hangnails, or the cuticle cracks, or something, generally starting the day after. But so far my hands just continue to look like healthier and cleaner versions of their usual selves, maybe because she was pretty gentle about clearing dead skin? Oh, as a huge bonus, her massage was excellent! The salon is super clean with good hygiene observed (gloves for pedicures, etc). The massage chair I had for the pedicure was fabulous and newer. Prices were also so reasonable - $40 for a mani/pedi that had me in the salon for about an hour and half. I know they have special deals on Tuesdays and Wednesdays but honestly their regular rates are tempting enough. It was great, but I brought enough cash tip for one clinician. So this leaves me with two choices - split the tip between the two clinicians so that each one gets less money, or bring double next time (too much) on top of the spa pedi price. I don't really like either option and it was much easier and more reasonable before. Also, my friend's pedi chipped on the very next day. I will probably continue to get pedis at this salon and would recommend, but just be aware of the tip situation.
