Sometimes it can get busy and a bit slower (especially on Friday evenings and weekends) but no one here is pretentious and it's always a fun, chill time. Also the food is delicious. I golf here most weeks. It is a great pro shop for the most part. I left my Callaway "A" wedge on the 9 th hole. I made par so I was all excited and forgot it. We made the turn. As we were teeing off on the 10th hole, I noticed my club was missing. Only About 10 minutes has passed. I asked the group behind us if they saw it. They said they were playing with a 2 some named Dave Oparko. They said He asked if the club was theirs. They said no. The Oparko 2 some proceeded to leave the course at the turn. I Immediately went to the pro shop. Tom at the pro shop was not helpful at all. We got into a confrontation. If he was tall enough to reach over the counter to punch me, he would've. I could see I was gonna have to kiss his ass to get anywhere with him. So I apologized and reached out to him to shake his hand. He refused. 1st time in my life that someone refused to shake my hand. Says all you need to know about Tom. I guess I have to call Concord police to get any help. Lenny said I could, but I have no witnesses. But It turns out I have 2. Complete with the names. They do not give out golfer personal information, which I get, how about a phone call to them instead of protecting criminals? Make no mistake, it's my fault for leaving it. Golf Range is great we come regularly so my boyfriend could practice. We get food, drinks, we hangout & have a great time every time. I love Monica she's amazing! Pete's also one of my fave staff members. All the staff is welcoming and accommodating. The food is SOOO GOOD. We always get the buffalo wings, the burgers, my bf said the Jambalaya is also good I haven't tried it yet but it's on my list. Their giant pretzel is great. I loved the ceasar salad also. Our 7 year old even loves to join us on range dates. He gets chicken fingers, fries & an ice cream every time. I've had breakfast once I got the bacon breakfast burrito and it was tasty! The golf course is beautiful, always maintained. Never had an issues. Easy to book tee times on their app or a simple call to the pro shop. This is our home course & we love coming here. We booked a threesome on Friday. The parking lot was packed and the place was bustling. We checked in with the friendly folks at the Pro Shop and warmed up on the driving range. The turf stalls were in good shape and the balls were nice and clean. The course is fairly flat and pretty wide open. If your driver game is off, you're going to have a long round. Lots of long par 4's, and some very long par 5 holes. Nice course and we had a good time. read more

The eight of us happened to play golf here today on the hottest day of the year. How hot was it? When we finished around 1pm it was 91 degrees but probably felt hotter. Since my initial review 2 1/2 years ago the golf carts have been replaced. There's an USB but no GPS. In addition they've still got the key deposit fee $5.00. Return the cart key to the pro shop upon completion of your game, and you'll get $5 back in cash. Naturally we returned the cart key. The course was well maintained with some wet areas but didn't distract from having a good game. We finished in 4 1/2 hours. read more

Diablo Creek is one of the best-kept public courses I have played in a while around me. The conditions are consistently great, from tee to green. For how well they maintain it, the prices are honestly a steal, super reasonable. The pro shop staff deserves a shoutout too. They are always friendly, and I really appreciated them holding on to the brush I use to clean my irons after I left it behind by accident. Just a solid experience all around. Just wanted to thank Antonio for NOT encouraging youth golf. All week we have been to the range with my 10 year old cousins from Atlanta First Tee to continue to encourage them to play golf and practice. Today, the desk clerk Antonio decided that first tee ATL wasn't worthy of a youth bucket. I don't know their rules, but I do know I've gotten 4 youth buckets the last 4 days, went inside after the bucket of balls and spent well over $50 on snacks/lunch. Mid course, range is always packed and people not even hitting balls leave their stuff there for 10-15 min+. Can't use a cart when playing the course after 6 but will still let you book the cart on their website they don't tell you that you'll have to walk until you show up and then they're rude about it. Terrible service all around. Also, the 9 hole rate is $5 cheaper than the 18 hole rate but if you want a cart it's $5 more if you're doing 9 than 18 so they're actually the same price either way. Absolute scam no wonder Buchanan is taking all their business it's so much better!! read more

Diablo Creek Golf Course is a pretty nice municipal golf course. The fairways are in fairly nice condition and the greens are very nice too. The course itself is not super long but there are a number of holes that would definitely test one's distance. The one thing to look out for is that many of the holes run adjacent to each other and one can hear the distant shouting of "FORE!". Another thing is the driving range. There is very little netting between the driving range and the tenth hole. Be aware of errant shots! It is a fairly flat course and a nice one to walk. The clubhouse is very small and quite dated. Interestingly enough, DIablo Creek allows for fivesomes as there was a group in front of mine that had 5 players. There were some delays at a few spots however we were able to maintain a good pace and complete the round in about 4 hours. read more

Tried Diablo driving range out to get some swings in on a nice Sunday afternoon. The guys in the shop were great and answered all my questions about the course and range. They close around 8:30pm and lights out at 9pm. That closing time on a Sunday is pretty hard to find. Glad they close late. The range is well maintained and the tees were decent to use. The mats were a little dirty but what do you expect. Still a great range. This range also has distance markers to see how far the ball gets. When I was parked I did try to call in advance and ask if dogs are allowed and someone put me on hold. I hung up after 5 minutes of waiting and came into the shop to see only to see an employee watching tv. He was probably on break but another gentleman helped me out and helped me check in. The range area also has a diner next it and outdoor seating great for people who want to spectate and just hangout. You can order food inside and have it brought to your range bay too. Will need to try out the golf course next time! read more

My son goes to Diablo Creek to golf often. He usually has a good experience, since he does deal with the guys in the pro shop too much. Yesterday he went to the driving range and bought a bucket for $5, which was the price indicated. It charged him that amount. Today, the price changed on the card. My son called and spoke to the guy in the pro shop who told him, that's what happened, if you don't like it, go somewhere else. Played about 10 times at Diablo Creek last 20 years and we just finished playing today on Saturday, March 8. What a pleasant surprise. The fairways and greens were in mint condition. I hardly saw any dirt on the fairway or greens. And bunkers sand were soft and fluffy. Very easy for me to get it out on the green. The pro shop starters were very attentive and call out on PA. who's on tee, second and third deck. He even said have a good round . I've been playing golf for 35 years and I've never heard anybody saying that before. Very good job. Even the Marshall was friendly. For $49 on Saturday you can't beat that anywhere in the bay area. I highly recommend this golf course to anybody. you will enjoy it. And I will definitely go back I never tried, their food in the restaurant but when I passed by there it smell really good. Booked an early morning tee time and I had a blast. The course was maintained well, the fairways were on the narrow side but that made it challenging and fun. Not many hazards other than being OB, so it's hard to lose a ball out here. Carts can drive anywhere other than green, the tee box, or designated areas. One thing I didn't appreciate was the Marshall approached our group because the other groups were "catching up" implying that we were playing slow. We finished our round in 4 hours and 4 minutes so I don't know how much faster you want us to play. The groups behind us never waited for us. We were either on or leaving the green and they haven't left the tee box yet. Even on par 3's, they were never waiting for us. So for the Marshall to approach us asking us to play faster I felt was out of line. After the round I wanted to clean off my shoes before going into the pro shop, there wasn't an air compressor or at least a shoe scrubber brush mat. Overall, great course, the pro shop had a big selection. The parking lot isn't in danger of being hit by golf balls, unless you have someone absolutely crush it on the 7th hole. This is a nice 18-hole golf course in Concord. This was my first time playing here and it didn't disappoint me. It had a driving range and a big putting service. The course is flat and for an avid walker like me, this place suited me. We started at noon on a weekday and even though there were a lot of groups playing, we finished the course in 4 1/2 hours. There was some wait on several Par 3 holes but our group moved along smoothly. Depending on your golf skills, the white tees are pretty long. The majority of the Par 4 are more than 400 yards. If you're not a long hitter on your driver, your second shot needs a long iron or wood, or hybrid. Also, their Par 5 is close to 600 yards on the white tees. So, if you're not a long hitter, try to play on the gold tees. Most of the greens are challenging. The greens have a lot of slopes and break to the hole. I didn't notice any greens that are flat surfaces. Make sure you read the greens carefully to get close to the hole The fairways are wide. Even if you hit an errant shot, you still have a chance to play to the green. This is a nice place to play for beginners as well as any golf aficionados I will come back and enjoy my favorite sport at this place. read more

went to my 720 tee time, frost delay made us start at 815. the numbnuts in the proshop set up a shotgun start and put the early groups in the back of all the other groups which meant we had to wait for all the slow groups . I couldn't even finish 11 holes in 4 hours. the rest of my group finished at 215 815-215 with an original 720 tee time. this place is ridiculous. read more

This has always been one of my favorite local golf courses. The food, the conditions of the course, the staff. This review is for the pro shop and a guy who works there Len or Lenny. Be really careful and make sure you check the pricing before paying. He charges whatever he wants and there's no context behind what the price is. I questioned what I was being charged and he got really mad about it. He's normally not the friendliest guy to begin with but he was even worse when you ask him questions. read more

This is my home course. Green fees are reasonable especially for concord residents. Course is typically is good shape depending on the season and latest weather conditions. Zero elevation changes make for an easy walk with my push cart (don't judge me). The blue tees can play long especially if the wind picks up which is fairly often. They have a full driving range off mats which is open pretty late most nights. During the summer they offer live music on Thursday nights behind the restaurant and near the driving range. This always brings a cool atmosphere and slightly larger crowd. The staff in the pro shop is always friendly as well as the restaurant. Drinks are reasonably priced and they offer the standard bar food options. The appetizer sampler is a solid choice. Go support your local muni! read more

Firstly I'd like to say how much I enjoy playing this course. The course is always in great shape, it's challenging and always great to play. However on May 13th 2020 I went to play there with a buddy. I was checking in roughly 5 minutes before our tee time and I was paying for the both of us as I had arrived at the pro shop first. The young lady behind the counter in the pro shop was obviously struggling to work the computer system and couldn't figure out how to check my in. She then had to try and get the attention of her co-worker who was standing right next to her but talking to his buddies who were also checking in. She was a shy lady and it became obvious to me that this guy (who I later found out was named Lenny) was too busy having a laugh with his friends to pay enough attention to what was happening around him. After a couple of minutes Lenny finally decided to help this girl out and start checking me in. He thought it was a good idea to snap at me for being late rather than greet with a polite hello. The 1st tee box has already got 3 groups waiting at this point. After they've finally got me through the system, I head out and get a cart (my buddy has since arrived and is getting the other cart) we load up and head to the first tee. Just before I'm about to hit my first shot of the day, old mate Lenny gets on the loud speaker and rudely point out that we have not paid and should not tee off and need head back to the pro shop to pay. I check my credit card receipt to see that he has only charged me for one person. So not only is this guy completely incompetent at his job, he then blames his mistakes on the customer, calls them out over the load speaker and continues to be rude and arrogant when I head back to pay. This is not a good look for the golf course that this person is the first impression that a customer gets when arriving to play a round of golf. There was too many groups on the course which had already caused a back up and they decide to make you feel like you are stealing when clearly they can't figure out how to run the place properly. I won't be in a hurry to play there again. Poor form read more

No 5 players !!! Went there on 10/15/23 Sunday. We were behind a slow five some all day long. It was extremely painful. If Diablo creek allows 5 somes you should lower the price for other golfers who have to deal with all the pain and suffering of a very very slow 5 some!!!! read more

This was my worst golf experience. The course was actually in fair shape. However, the pace of play was the worst ever. We had a tee time for 10:32am on Oct. 14th. The course had a high school tournament scheduled for 8am that day - 120 teen age girls (all good golfers). Their shotgun start delayed our tee time by 30 minutes. OK, I can deal with that. However, they had booked tee times for 10:30, 10:32, 10:34 and 10:36. No way that can work. The front nine took 4 hours. The back nine took 3. We talked to some locals who play here frequently. They said this is common at Diablo Creek. There were no marshals evident to help improve the pace of play. Will we return here? NO WAY. read more

Played today. By the 4th hole the pace of play was absolutely crazy. We were in a group and the course forgot to remind the other groups that #4 is tough and you should simply call the group behind you up. Spent over 40 minutes on 1 hole waiting. Unacceptable. Customer service (Marshall) did not exist. Practice faculty is ok, course is all bad. Condition, ok, pace of play, horrible, value is disappointing. Drive 20 more minutes and play a real course. read more

Diablo Creek is a very long, flat, somewhat boring Municipal Course (City of Concord). The total yardage from the White (men's) 6,441 yds.; Gold (Senior) 6,040 yds and Red (Women's) 5,333 yds. 'From the tips' it's a long 6,896 yds.! It's all flat because it's an old flood plain. Therefore, in the Winter, it tends to be very muddy. It's a nice course to play during the drier seasons, though. There are lots of ponds, a creek and lots of mature trees. We haven't played it in a very long time because before the Covid-19 mess, the traffic was so bad that it would take us an hour to get there from San Ramon. Now with the reduced traffic patterns, it's a breeze with just a quick and easy 30 minute drive. The best thing is the course condition. It's really in good shape, now. The fairways are all nice and wide and well groomed with the grass cut fairly short. That makes for a good roll on the ball. The greens are also in great shape - fast but true for putting. The one negative is their way of handling the pin stick. It is a standard pin stick but a short 'collar' sits in the hole below the lip of the cup. A foam piece wrapping most pin sticks are printed with an instruction to not remove the pin stick. That means everyone that holes their putt must bend down and retrieve their own ball and with the pin stick still in the cup, it's impossible to do this without touching the lip and walls of the cup. In our minds, that thousands of hands contaminating the cup! I wish the courses would standardize the cup and pin stick. The best/easiest are the one that have collar half way up the stick and 'ball lift' attached to the pin stick at the bottom of the cup. To retrieve your ball from the hole, simply use your putter head to push the visible 'collar' up and the ball lift down below pops your ball out of the hole - no fuss no muss! The staff is very friendly and patient with questions and very helpful to newcomers that are unfamiliar with the course and the layout and operations. The current Weekday cost of a Senior, non-resident, with cart is $45. A walking Senior is just $27. Currently, like all courses i the area, all carts are single players. A twosome to a cart is permitted for family members living in the same household. Their Legend's Cafe is open for business with outdoor tables on the large outdoor patio. There is no indoor or table service. You'll have to go to the bar area and give them your luncheon and drink order and pay for it and go find a table outside.
